It's more of a necessity to shop here as they have a stranglehold on the local area. If you want stuff for your every day cooking or household needs you do have to shop here as the proxy has less of the every day needs & whilst Fresh Med has a lot of the veggies for cheaper they don't offer the range.
So as long as you are on the watch out for foods that are way past their sell date, yet still available to buy. And being accused of being a thief if their faulty security sensors go off. (Funny story being it went off with me at the checkout, the arse behind me advised the cashier where I might be keeping stolen goods. I followed their 'orders' I explained that the sensors were faulty to hear the reply 'no they are never faulty' I pulled out my diplomatic id & suddenly she agreed that they were faulty most of the time)
The student cashiers are friendly & have not grown into the 'dealing with customers is a hassle I can deal with grumpily' They make up for the shelf stickers who barge you out of the way to do their jobs.
Like I said it's a necessity that you've gotta live with unless you have a car or are willing to handle the 2 mile trek to the wonderful Delhaize at Hankar. read more
