I'm starting to get slightly disgusted with how Student Finance has been giving me the runaround when it comes to my VA Education status certification. I've turned in everything that was asked of me after it got rejected the first time. Now it's been a week and I'm in my second term already and still... "no update" according to Student Finance. I had an interview scheduled for 3:45pm. The person doing the interview Angela Withers was late and informed me she was only there to let me know she had "just filled the position and how sorry she was." Not only was this rude it is the reason people are not calling back people when offered a job. Anyone looking at this company please proceed with caution as they are rude, unprofessional, and waste time. In the future if you make multiple interviews do all the interviews before choosing the person you want to hire so you don't waste everyone's time. read more

I just have to hop on here and maybe help someone who is on the fence about the Massage Therapy program here at the Stockton campus . I too was on the fence but when meeting the instructor Mr Parks , that was my deciding factor .He answered all of my questions and really put me at ease .I am now entering my second term and I can speak from experience , it has been an informative ,hands on and fun atmosphere to learn in .Being skeptical about the anatomy was nerve racking but in actuality he has made it easy to want to learn about it .So if your thinking about , and deicide to do it , you wont regret it .!!! read more

I am a current student here in the vet tech program and i advise those interested in that to leave and look somewhere else for enrolling in a vet tech program. the director who is also a teacher for one of the semesters does not care whatsoever about helping students pass nor does she advocate for them. the dean herself is no help and will back up the director of the vet tech program herself instead of actually listening to students. all the good instructors who actually listened to and advocated for their students already left because of the director. in my class we went through 4 instructors in only the first 2 semesters, if that doesn't tell you a lot about the director then i don't know what will. financial and enrollment will make you feel like this is the best option which really is not. it's best to go to a community college/ MJC for the vet tech program. personally 2nd semester in the vet tech program, which there is 5 semesters, felt like we were all set up for failure the instructor who is the director still, always lost everyone's work and was never helpful. my advice to students coming for this program is to look somewhere else as mentioned because you will waste money and time coming here and it is very mentally draining. they want to portray it as a professional college but is it really when staff won't advocate for you and hear you out and actually do something about it? read more

Ever since I let "my one day be my day one", I've had the opportunity to dig into my studies with massage therapy. Admissions and Finance are extremely helpful and show how supportive they are about students coming to learn at their campus. I must add that my instructor really knows his stuff and I'm glad to be taught by someone with such knowledge and experience! read more

I attended the Vet Tech Program the very first year the doors opened for this school. It was then called Western Career College. The first week we were suppose to start and part of that being in the lab as well. Well ...the lab director had passed and the lab was not completely set up, yet they still decided to continue with starting the class. The lab being not open was very detrimental to what us students needed in order to start our clinicals at our desired Vet office- which I found out the hard way. We were supposed to already be taught how to restrain an animal and the basics of animal care via their lab. So when I started my clincals and was told to do such things , I was basically a deer in head lights. The Vet techs there asked me to do certian techniques that I should have already been taught but wasn't. I stood there embarrassed as I responded with No I'm sorry my school hasn't taught me that yet. I still was determined to go on as this was my dream career my whole life growing up !! Our Vet tech teacher was really nice, it was her first time teaching. I remember her saying she worked a Sierra Vet Hospital on Hammer. Well abput 3 weeks in, she quit due to stress. Then they sent a teacher from Sacramento to cover. *MIND YOU - WE STILL HAVENT BEEN IN THR LAB YET Determined ...I still attended classes about 2.5 to 3 months in but the teacher kept on contradicting her self. She would teach 1 thing and then say another and when we would ask her about it she would reply to the efrext Oh Yeah - it's that one ...basically retracting her statement and making me and the class more confused. 4 months in I decided that 25k loan was just not worth what I was getting in terms of education and I quit the school. This was around 2004 2005, luckily I am not stuck with the 25k Loan but they did charge me 6k which I still don't feel I should pay especially with my experience ‍. If any one is reading this and happened to be in the same class please reply. Last I remeber a class of 20ish was down to 3 by December hit when I ran into my old classmate. I attended the Medical Assistant program at the Stockton campus. The instructors were great! Ms. Howell was the most knowledgeable, patient and entertaining teacher this school might have ever had. She took on multiple classes and she did the best she could with what she had and we learned a lot when she taught. We went through several instructors during my 8 month program. Another very knowledgeable instructor was Mrs.Lopez. She held a different position but because we ended up with no instructor she taught for a while. I wish that Carrington could do better for their instructors and all staff because they take on a lot and they are crucial to the learning experience. Students pay a lot for their education and it only seems fair that the instructors be provided with all of the resources necessary help the students get the best education and help keep the school running efficiently. Mailyn is great she is in charge of externships and she helped me so much. Overall I personally had a good experience, I leaned a lot, meet some great people and became employed quickly after on my own. If you take the time to study, ask a lot of questions and can learn on your own then this might be the school for you . read more

Oh, how naive I was. So after I went and talked to everyone about the cost of the school (which they told me at first that it would be free to me because I qualified for a low income family program), took a tour of the school, had my picture taken for my school ID, was fitted for scrubs, and TWO DAYS AWAY from starting the semester, I get a call saying that they had changed the program and it was important that I came in and reviewed the changes. !!!!!!!!!! All of a sudden, the course changed, the free program for low income families was gone, I would owe something between $20,000 and $50,000, I would need to start paying hundreds on a monthly basis on time right away, I would need to get all of that paid off before I got any credits or certifications, and the pressure was on because I was supposed to start going to school in two days and once you begin, you can't back out of the money you owe!!! I was totally overwhelmed and so sad because everyone seemed so nice and I was really looking forward to going to school. They're really worried about the money. It's all about the money. If it were more affordable or if they had a program for, you know, people like us who live paycheck to paycheck and have two children whose needs and wants always come before our own... I would have loved to go there. You have to have money to make money, I guess. read more

My wife and I attended an meet and greet to possibly attend the school I'm in total shock the way we were rush in and out. The lady seems she can't be honest, never returns our calls. We feel like we were being discriminated against about entering the school. She has offered no help no real answers. We have since decided to go else where at this point we will go somewhere that we feel welcome. read more

School wasn't great I failed two classes once and they were trying to say how I failed one more the 2 times and they said I couldn't go back then I received a letter saying I withdrawal when it was them saying I couldn't come back !! They said I can come back 6 months later but not finish what I started might have to take a whole different course which I think is unfair not the best school read more

I attended this school when it was still called Western Career College. I had a great time learning here. The hands on training was fun, and it was definitely helpful. The teachers assisted us when we needed it. The two M.A. teachers were awesome - Ms P and Ms J. However, once I finished I felt betrayed. I was promised a job position once I graduated. All I ever received were job postings from the career adviser. After I graduated I didn't work for six months. I was a 4.0 student and did well at my extern site. During the signup I felt rushed. I felt real odd when the financial aid adviser stopped speaking midway and told me I had beautiful eyes. In my opinion, my eyes are all right. There isn't anything fancy about them. At that moment I felt as if she was just trying to get me to accept the terms. I did. I was foolish, didn't do my research, wanted a job quickly, so I signed the papers. It seems that the faculty changes often. The career adviser left. She wasn't helpful. The new one, according to my cousin, isn't helpful either. One of my favorite MA teachers left due to a huge argument. Maybe it was because she found out that the majority of her students weren't able to land a job due to the school's lack of effort. I know that many of my classmates didn't find a job because I kept in touch with them. I went to McDonald's one day and found one of my classmates working there. She said that the school didn't help her find a job either. It was very disheartening. Six months after graduating I finally found a job, not because of the school's assistance, but because of my earnest effort. I needed money right away. I'm not an MA but I'm in the medical field. I'm very sad for my fellow classmates who weren't fortunate enough to find a job. Would I recommend going to this college? No. Two thumbs down. Credits in this college don't transfer to any other college. Definitely go to a community college or university. It may take long, but money wise and education wise it's worth it. These vocational colleges are in it to take your money, sad to say. Times are very, very difficult but I hope many of you find your way through it. Live simple. read more

I havn't officially started yet, but after attending the meeting I am very excited to attend here! The staff was so friendly as well as the students and everybody I came into contact with seemed to be happy and eager to help. After going through the tour, I was very impressed. The school is clean and classes look small (exactly what I am looking for) because then you get to have that one on one relationship with your professors. I am going here to become a dental assistant and after seeing the classroom/lab room it looked exactly like a dental office. Everything was well organized and the technology they have is very up to date. It is a costly school, but after meeting with financial aid, they were very helpful to me and trying to fill out every form I had. I will keep you updated on my experience here! read more

I attend this college also when it was western career college but I had the very opposite experience. I found that my teachers were very helpful, they never left any questions unanswered were always there to stay late help me or any other classmates and were very professional. Also when I started school they told me straight up there is no way they can guarantee me a job very honest people, no one just gets a job handed to them, u have to work for it! make it a full-time job to find a job it doesn't just jump in your lap, however I got hired off of my extern an I am one of the lucky people who has, I know quiet a few of my classmates that have too. Do not go here. No matter what they tell you. This school is a scam for your money. And they want it no matter what. They use every trick in the book to make you think it's perfect and affordable and stick you with a bill regardless of your situation. They screwed me over, even after looking and asking, begging and even once I was on the verge of tears, the dean had no sympathy and did not help me in any way. This school is very obviously a corporation only interested in your money. Whether you have it or not. The instructors confirmed for me that this school is nothing but a sham. They do not have the education to teach, they only have experience in the field (if they even have that). They don't have patience for students. DO NOT GO TO CARRINGTON COLLEGE! I cannot reccomend anyone to attend this school. I was a student here about 2-3 years ago and I am now recieving a letter that I owe them $800. Worst part was when I was first notified, that amount was due the very same day! The letter never stated why I owed them that much. It's ridiculous as I already owed the school over 24 grand (cost of attending 2 months of Vet tech program, dropped out then the full Pharmacy tech program combined) and I am already paying $300 monthly for my student loans for it. So on top of that another $800 straight out of pocket??? Why was I never notified until 2 years after I graduated and why wasn't this amount added on to the total cost of attending the school that I am already paying for monthly? It's funny how I am just being notified right when there's been budget cuts to the school. Very shady. Went to the school to see finance and they told me I couldn't see anyone as there's only one person in that department handling everything now. Apparently she was new and had to be trained. The front desk also didn't see anything in my account and records indicating I owe them $800 directly. I left my contact info for finance to call me and 2 months passed and I never heard anything back. I really wanted to confront the problem in person but couldn't. I gave up and called the number in the letter and she wasn't any help at all. Marisol Sarabia was her name. Couldn't give me a straight answer as to why I was just being notified and why it took them 2 years. Also said she couldn't merge the $800 to the 24 grand I am already paying off. Gave me a crap excuse of why she couldn't. If you try paying if off a low amount monthly like say $75, they will add interest. So I was stuck paying $260 for 3 months...on top of the $300 I'm paying in loans already. Seriously this school will just keep screwing you over again and again. It wasn't just me but my other classmates had their own kind of issues with the school as well while I was still attending and a lot had to do with financing issues. Do not trust them. Also the whole they will help you find a job during externship and after you graduate is a lie. I went out of my own way to get myself hired. You are better off going to a different college. read more

I went to this school; now in dept forever. I thought I was bettering myself by getting a degree and everything. I graduated and couldn't find a job and then a year went by and I still couldn't find a job. I couldn't pay any of my loans this whole time either. So much time went by no one would hire me. It's impossible for me to get a job in the field I have a degree in, which is their Vet Tech program. I will say that there was a math and English test I had to pass to get into the program, though I wish I failed it. My daughter took the SAT prep courses here. They first offered a free practice test to assess the areas she needed to improve. Then met with her weekly for tutoring sessions specific to SAT prep. My daughter improved her score by 80 points after two weeks of tutoring. The teachers were knowledgeable, patient, and invested in my daughters learning. I would recommend the SAT prep courses to all high school students. read more
