Came tonight to grab a few drinks and a hookah. Very slow night only about 5 people in the spot. It took 30 minutes ATLEAST to get a hookah after ordering one. Despite no one being there is wild. This is after tipping 25% (I don't know why there is an option to tip before and not after) especially when you get average service at best. They finally dropped my hookah after 30 mins. I went to my car to make a call for work. I came back and my hookah was gone. You can't make this up. Black business make it so hard to support them at times. I won't be back. read more

This club was a cool ghetto spot. There was a $10 cover. Drinks were reasonably priced, they need more bartenders tho. However there DJ is a rude prick ass fat boy. Went to the booth to request a song. He sqinched his face up and said no I can't play that. He was dismissive and disrespectful. Another I didn't like was the raggedy speakers. This place is a good time. Fridays and Saturdays are the best nights to go! You don't have to dress fancy you can dress casual and have the time of your life. Top shelf drinks are less then $10 bucks. I have gotten Hennessy and Parton for $6 each. The bartenders are nice it doesn't take long to get a drink at all. There is a cover charge usually between $5-$10. Parking is free they are located in a shopping plaza with a huge lot. I suggest going before midnight because the parking lot gets packed. I enjoyed my visit to "Carros" with work friends this past Saturday night. A few quick observations. First and foremost everyone is there to have a good time, the place has a great vibe for trap music. Second, the place has five separate bars to accommodate everyone's request for very reasonable drink orders very quickly. I don't believe I waited more than two minutes for any drink order. Lastly, in the event that someone goes with the intent of not having a good time and causing problems, there's more than enough security to manage any issues before they even happen. read more

It's been a few years since I last came here. Since that time, I've had some conversations with a number of friends, acquaintances, and others about Carros. The common advice is get here for happy hour then leave when it's over. As I sit here, waiting on my cousin, I see that they pour nice. I'm drinking Malibu because I prefer low calorie alcohol when I can find it. They pour it pretty nice, as you can tell from the photo I posted earlier. It's only $3! The bartender is rather nice as well. I'm going to make sure I tip her well, of course. As far as the ambiance goes, it's rather chill with Hip-Hop/R&B playing in the background. There are around 10 people in here, including myself. When I first arrived, around 6:06pm, there were only about 6 people here. There aren't that many cars in the parking lot, so it's a great place to duck in if you want to grab some drinks when you want to wait for the traffic to die down. Although I am not eating, they seem okay with folks bringing food. ABC local news is playing on the TV and a basketball game is about to play. Ole Carros catches hell because it is a hood joint...but that's actually what's so great about it. If you come here looking for something upscale, pretentious, and flashy...then HELL YEAH you will be sorely disappointed. That's not what Carrington's is about, nor does it TRY to be. It's a spot that welcomes anyone, and with that being said...you will see some colorful characters there. If you accept the place for what it is, I GUARANTEE you will have a blast. The drinks are extremely reasonable, the music is always on point, you don't have to wait in pitifully long lines at the bar (there are 3 different bars throughout the place) and parking is FREE (unless you literally want a parking space by the front door). So as you can tell by my picture, I'm a Black man. This place, though open and welcome to all people, caters more towards the Black urban community of the city of Houston. These type of places are becoming more rare due to the process of gentrification happening in the city, but Carrington's stands out as one of the best in the city. With very cheap drinks and great music (specifically southern, HTX hip hop) is the kind of ambiance that's becoming more difficult to find over time. The reason it gets 3 stars is simple, no seating and cover charge. If they had seating options and no cover, it would be a 5 star establishment to me. I can't play pool at all. To be honest, I don't even go here to play pool. This place is ghetto, hood, gutter, and any other euphemism you want to use for places that look like a rap video. Carrington's on a weekend night is filled with cars straight out of a car show, girls straight out of a rap video, and dudes straight out of jail. Ok I'm kidding on the last part, but if you are intimidated by all young African American crowds, I'd probably shy away from here. If you aren't worried about that then this place is fun. They play (loud) hip hop music and you hear a lot of comical trash talking going on around the pool tables. The drinks are INCREDIBLY strong and cheap, and there is beer of course. The people are nice and welcoming, which is the exact opposite of what you'd think if you just judge this book by its cover. Carro's is what we call it here in the H! I think we all have heard or either been to Carrington's. This is definitely a ghetto fabulous place where you will see some of the hood's finest come out smelling like Newports, Hennessey, and fragrance oils from the corner store...but it's all good. I wouldn't come here on my own, but I do have a few ratchet friends who will drag me here from time to time and I always leave full of enjoyment and laughter from all of the entertainment. The drinks are always on point and strong, security is beefed up, and you won't leave smelling like an ashtray because they don't allow smoking inside. Ah carros. The rumors are true. It's the hood version of cheers... I personally prefer to get there in time for happy hour and the chicken lady.... chicken is BOMB y'all! Every time I get it, it disappears in minutes. The drinks are potent as well... there's been times that I was a wuss and had to ask for something to mellow it out... which to me is a good thing. I visited on a Monday night solo, just me, myself and I and I still managed to have a ball. This spot is hood, but it didn't give me an uncomfortable vibe, so I was cool with that. The crowd was friendly and I met I few new faces. The drinks were on point. I ordered my usual, coconut ciroc and pineapple. They played hood music all night. The music was a combination of wide range of rap. If you aren't into rap this isn't the place for you. If you are bougie don't waste your time. The environment in Carros is just too live. I have been living in houston for less than a year and I have been to Carros 2 saturdays in a row and plan to keep going back. The only downfall is it will get extremely hot because the place will be packed, especially on Saturdays. The drinks are great and my fav is the Hurricane of course. I have not tried any of the games b/c i always be in the middle of the dance floor having a great time. Went to Carrington's Sunday around 6:30pm for a quick drink with my friend. Walked inside it looked like that hadn't cleaned from the night before. Took a seat anyway because no big deal maybe they clean when they open......Anyway, got our seats at the bar and waited, waited after 15 minutes we got up and left. Nobody at the bar even though there was at least 3 couples there drinking. When we walked out we saw all of the employees outside smoking. They had saw us come in (we walked in and said hi) but, did not come in to serve us. Weird.... I thought that a bar was for making money. How can you run a bar and not serve drinks 30 mins after you open? I was going to stay there for karaoke but, if i can't drink why be there. Guess my money wasn't important. read more
