Van was probably pretty nice when it was made in 1996. The full leather interior was badly worn, and the carpeted floor was quite dirty. The front windshield had a large ding from which 3 cracks radiated across the entirety of the glass. This was complimented by another footling crack just a nice eye level. My 2nd row seat was sort of loose/broken. Driver talked repeated on his hand held mobile phone ( but at least the calls seemed business related). Also typed a phone number in by hand while we were traveling about 70mph on a non-limited-access highway. Checked his calendar a little later when we were doing 77 up I-59. Passed a semi on the right hand side. If we had used Waze, we would have saved 15 minutes to avoid the construction Otherwise trip was uneventful, and the driver was very polite.

The "weeping angle" or "the angle of grief" as some people call her, is a site in herself. She is about 6 feet tall (base and all) and she is the grave marker for the Teasdale family. During the Civil War years two lots of the graveyard were set aside for the burial of confederate soldiers. Many of those are unknown soldiers. Friendship Cemetery in Columbus is known for numerous reasons. This is the place where what we know as Memorial Day originated. A year after the Civil War ended, the ladies of Columbus decorated the graves of the Confederate and Union soldiers buried here starting a tradition that has lasted all the way to our time.
