To Whom It May Concern, The letter I wrote to the judge on…read moremy husbands case regarding the beyond HORRENDOUS court appointed attorney services provided (If you could even call it that) By Miss Andrea Sullivan I believe it sums it up pretty completely:::: To whom it may concern: I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to express my desperate concern regarding the representation of my husband, James Atkins, in his ongoing case. It is with great regret that I must bring to your attention the reasons of my concern regarding the conduct of his current attorney, Anakalia "Andrea" Sullivan. From the onset of this legal process, I believe Miss Sullivan has demonstrated a lack of effort, intention, and objectiveness in representing James. Her conduct suggests a personal bias or grudge against him, which has detrimentally affected her ability to remain impartial enough to provide competent legal counsel. I have observed firsthand her failure to familiarize herself with the details of the case, her lack of communication, her apparent lack of preparation in mounting a defense, and her inexplicable push for a rushed trial. Just last week when appearing in court with James on July 10th she was 2 hours late, she sat in the audience on the complete opposite side of the court room from him, and spoke from the audience when addressing matters related to his case. Yet, immediately afterward when her next clients matter was up for discussion, she rushed across the room to stand right by their side! She had advised James that he should fire her and obtain new counsel, yet when he filed the Marsden Motion to do just that; she showed up to the hearing on July 11th and fought to stay on his case, feeding Judge Steward with false information, exaggerating her involvement, disguising her lack of effort and complete disregard for him as a person and his right to due process and making James seem like a joke that nobody cared to share the punch line to. Since that hearing it's become more evident that there's an even bigger resentment toward James and a more significant conflict of interest. As you will see from the attached correspondence between myself, Miss Sullivan, and the assigned investigator Cisco Lassiter; all my attempts at communication with her have been ignored, and any information that I try to relay for James, is disregarded. It wasn't until I tried to advise Miss Sullivan of our concerns and complaints about how we're being treated; that she took actions to fast track the case to trial, despite his pleading with her against it. The consequences of Miss Sullivan's actions are dire. My husband James (as well as anyone else in this country) has right to a fair trial, and adequate legal representation; and those rights are being compromised. It is clear that Miss Sullivan is not acting in James' best interests and may, in fact, be working against him. Her behavior gives rise to concerns of sabatoge, which is wholly unacceptable in a court of law. Specifically, Miss Sullivan has not adequately prepared for his defense, because she has failed to familiarize herself with crucial aspects of the case, she ignores any and all information both James or myself have given her pertaining to this case and has shown a disconcerting disregard for his concerns and preferences. Moreover, her insistence on rushing to start trial, despite his insistance against doing so suggest a lack of commitment to achieving a favorable outcome for him. I am deeply concerned that Miss Sullivan is simply trying to get him off her case load so she no longer has to deal with us. As a result, we have lost confidence in her ability to represent him effectively and ethically. Therefore, I implore Your Honor to consider allowing My Husband James to dismiss Miss Sullivan as his legal counsel. It is crucial that he be afforded the opportunity to be appointed new representation that will diligently and objectively advocate on his behalf. The integrity of the judicial process and James's fundamental rights are at stake, and a swift resolution to this matter is imperative. I sincerely hope that you will take this matter seriously and grant him the right to an attorney who will fulfill their duty to boh him and to the court.
