We just bought a 2025 Mazda CX-5 Premium Plus from Caruso Mazda, and it was an amazing experience! Until now, we've been a Toyota family--we've been driving our 2008 Toyota Sienna since we bought it new and hadn't stepped into a car dealership since. While we always assumed we'd stick with Toyota, we decided it was time to explore other options. Our first stop was Caruso Mazda. Solomon took us on a test drive in both the Premium Plus and the Preferred trims. He was incredibly personable and knowledgeable. Then we met with Tito, the sales manager, who walked us through the pricing and loan options and answered all our questions. What stood out the most to us during that first visit was how respectful both Solomon and Tito were. We told them we were just starting the car search--and there was zero pressure to buy on the spot. Over the next couple of weeks, we test-drove the RAV4, CR-V, and Forester. Compared to our experience at Caruso Mazda, the vibe at Toyota and especially Honda was the total opposite--very pushy and high-pressure. Even setting that aside, my husband and I both agreed that the CX-5 delivered the best driving experience, features, and overall value. We made an appointment to test-drive the CX-5 one more time with Solomon and Tito, just to be sure. Again, they were welcoming, patient, and helpful. They didn't have the exact color we wanted in stock, but they sourced it from a partner dealership, and it arrived the very next day. We also had a great experience with Josh in financing. If you are a Costco member you must look into their car buying program with Caruso Mazda and connect with Marco. My spouse and I went through the process with him and can honestly say, after almost 2 years since we bought our Mazda, he is above and beyond amazing! The relationship one has with the dealership after the sale is made lasts for the life of the car. Normally one only deals with the service department - however, Marco is still offering assistance with questions/complaints etc. We have NEVER had this experience with past salespeople. I came to Caruso Mazda on Sunday, 12/29/24. Days prior, I  chatted with a salesperson about a 2016 Toyota Sienna XLE Premium minivan I found on Carfax. I went to a Honda dealership first, then I called Caruso and said I would be coming in two hours. The minivan was buried deep in cars on the lot, which was not an issue. The issue was when the van wouldn't start. The salesman, Allex explained that sometimes the cars sit for a while, and the batteries die. Fair enough, but I did say I was coming in. The Toyota Sienna XLE was listed for $17,776 both online and on the window sticker. Immediately after driving the minivan, Allex informed me that this wasn't the actual price. He said the price would be $2000+ in additional fees for an alarm, a paint sealant, plus other "accessories" put on by Caruso. I specifically chose the "XLE Premium package" which has an anti-theft device, and loads of features already included. I told Allex I thought it was deceitful to advertise the car without disclosing this. I almost left, but the assistant sales manager, Victor Gomez, invited me inside to run numbers to see if we could make it work. We ran the numbers, putting my 2016 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro as a trade-in. I disclosed to Victor that I had been offered $29,250 cash from another dealer, and wanted the same. I declined the first two offers. Victor's next offer was the trade-in cost for my 4Runner, and Caruso would pay $7k of my remaining loan balance + an additional $2000 + their 2016 Toyota Sienna XLE which would be fully paid. I told Victor I would consider it, gave it some thought, then I agreed, and he shook my hand, and said we had a deal. By now, it was closing time, so they took the keys to my 4Runner, started marking it up, and said they would get the minivan ready for me. In the meantime, I dealt with their finance manager who briefly read what each document was for. I seemed to be standard liability stuff. I declined any extended warranty. By the time, Bob and I finished, everyone was pretty exhausted. Victor came to tell me they discovered the minivan had a broken driver's side mirror and it couldn't be driven, so he said for me to take my 4Runner as a loaner vehicle while they repair the minivan. The next day on Monday, 12/30/24 after a long sleep, I pulled out my paperwork to add the minivan to my insurance. When doing so, I found some MAJOR discrepancies in the contract. Caruso had charged me $395 for the alarm, plus instead of saying I would receive $2000 as we agreed, on page one, it stated that "the amount financed" (which is a balance I would owe them) was $1565.05. This is a false representation of what I had agreed on. I immediately reached out to their staff to express my concerns. Nery Chacon, the General Sales Manager, responded with a structured breakdown of the fees for the Sienna minivan. I pointed out that I never agreed to pay for their alarm, because this model of minivan came with an anti-theft device, and I pointed out that by how the contract was worded, said I would be financing the $1565.05. His response was not satisfactory to me. One of the attorneys I spoke with, told me that in CA you can legally cancel a car sales contract within two days if the car costs less than $40,000, due to dishonest sales tactics or fraudulent terms. Since it had not even been 24 hours, and since I didn't even have their minivan (nor was I given a timeframe of when it would be fixed), I chose to cancel the contract. I felt Caruso's employees had not been transparent about their prices and were intentionally dishonest with the numbers we agreed to. The next day, on Tuesday 12/31/24, my 4Runner was listed for sale on their website for $36k and the Sienna Minivan was taken off their site. They had also registered my 4Runner with Carfax listing it under their dealership. I reiterated to Nery that I no longer wanted to do business with them because I felt they had been dishonest. Nery agreed to void the contract. I requested that they remove my 4Runner from their website and return my 2nd car key. It took until Thursday, January 2nd, 2025 for them to change the carfax and to take my 4Runner off their website. To date, I still haven't gotten my 2nd key returned, so I can barely sleep at night because I am worried/paranoid someone could take it right out of my driveway. This entire situation caused me an immense amount of stress, it ate up 5 days of my time and energy when I could have been out looking for other vehicles and could have gotten a better deal at a more ethical dealership. I felt the men at Caruso use all the typical manipulative sales tactics which is why the "scummy car salesman" stereotype exists. Had I to do it over again, I would have never visited Caruso Mazda because it was a miserable experience. If you are looking for a used car, I warn you, proceed with caution. read more

This is the last place you would ever want to do business with they totally took advantage of me. It cost me a lot of time in trouble to begin with. They lied to me straight off the beginning. I had just purchased a Toyota from a different dealership. They told me I would not lose any money on that car if I traded it in well when I finally got the paperwork, the one that showed me the price that they were given me for the Toyota it was $9000. I lost $9000 by driving a car one week that I had bought from the dealership when they ask you to electronically sign your signature don't do it. That was my biggest mistake because then they just didn't even show me the paperwork that had already been signed where they signed the paperwork themselves. I left my glasses in the Toyota, which I've repeatedly asked for over and over and they're like I'll go get those in a minute, so I couldn't even really see the paperwork that I was signing. Their liars and scammers the kind you would expect from a low class dealership, not Mazda and things just got worse than there. And I never did get my glasses and when I asked to have my Toyota back because I didn't want to meet their accommodations over the damn payment they told me it was too late. I couldn't have it back and they told him I couldn't get the Mazda gave me the damn payment they actually can I get a ride home. I have never in my life ever been treated like this. I felt like a criminal. They had me up there all day eight hours. I had not eaten anything and was really just wanting to try to get home and actually get something to eat and when I got home, I was gonna look over the contract which they told me was in the Gulf department wrong it was not there and by the time I got back to the dealership to receive the contract the time had expired where you could renege on the contract if he decide to purchase from them, you better watch every move may check everything they do because they will lie to you and they will scam you and take advantage, especially the elderly people. read more

Don't go here for service. They are short staffed so something simple will take forever to get it repaired. Their phone system is completely broken. Calling here for an update on your car will only take you to a phone schedule service where they will "call you back". Which pretty much doesn't happen. This dealership is a scam. I came in to test drive their "certified" preowned Mazda vehicle with "no accidents". I'm pulled into an office and told by the sales floor manager that the car is not certified and has been in an accident, even though it is advertised on both their website and other third-party websites as being certified (it's still listed on their website as certified pre owned right now) .
