Had a late breakfast here on a Thursday and my oh my was it good! Cinnamon rolls are top shelf, eggs are real, bacon is thick, and the coffee is hot! Our server was very nice and made sure we had everything we needed. Food came out in a reasonable time as well. I eat here during my yearly visit to Winter Park for breakfast and it works great for me! The menu is not marked with gluten free items, but I've always gotten some form of eggs and a side of gluten free toast. If you tell them you have celiac/gluten allergy, they'll toast the bread in the oven instead of the toaster to avoid cross contamination. They also use separate utensils to prep my food upon request. Sure I can't eat everything on the menu, but a hearty breakfast is good enough for me! The staff is friendly and decor is cute. The bathroom doors crack me up. read more

This gem was in front of our vrbo and we were so grateful for it all the wonderful that it is! Service, delicious food, fun ambiance and quality were top notch! We got lunch take out one day and loved it then for Sunday brunch we felt we had to dine in and give it a whirl and so glad we did! My husband had the huevos rancheros, I had a Benedict and my friend had the burrito. All of our plates were cleaned off! The big winner was their fresh squeezed orange juice! Delicious. Not a drop remained in any of our glasses. Our server was super friendly as was everyone else in staff, prompt, great suggestions and professional. We look forward to returning. We've eaten here twice as a family and both times have been great! First of all, the vibe is great. Laid back with fun decor and good service. The cinnamon role is the best we've had anywhere! The second visit was for lunch and the highlight was the chicken on the southwest salad, I don't know how they make it that juicy with the right crisp?!? I have fairly picky kids and they enjoyed both meals too. And BONUS!!! I left my purse here and we live 2 hours away. They were so cool and kind and mailed it to me. Casual, family-friendly cafe. The waiting staff knows its regulars, which was nice to see. A lot of customers going in and out at all times, so this must be one of the popular spots in town. Indoor and outdoor seating available. We sat outside, enjoying the splendid views of the snowy mountains. The service is friendly and accommodating. We took our time with our breakfast, not feeling rushed. $15 highlander and $15 breakfast burrito were very filling. The highlander was a bit bland for my taste. Had to season it and ask for mustard, as the homemade potatoes, poached eggs, gravy & biscuit, and corned beef were lacking flavor and taste. Corned beef tasted odd--old, stale, and unnatural. The breakfast burrito was a massive portion and the salsa was nice and brightly flavored [a bit hot, so be warned if you do not like spice]. The burrito was certainly the better choice. The enormous $4 cinnamon bun was soft, pillowy, and very sweet. Not the best cinnamon bun I've ever had, but decent enough. I have a sweet tooth, and even for me this was veryyyyy sweet. Great portion for sharing [which is what we did], so you don't end up getting diabetes on your own, but share that sweet fate with your partner in crime. read more

We have been coming to Carvers for a long time. Since they were located in cooper creek (20+ years). To me there is a noticeable change in The quality of their food. Eggs Benedict, still good enough , although the poached eggs were overcooked The chicken fried steak was poor. Meat was way overcooked, potatoes very dry..neither of these 2 items appeared to be fresh to me We also ordered a burrito, which again was mediocre.. cold on the edges of the tortilla which did not appear to be fresh either Would we come again? We were looking for a breakfast spot and found Carvers. YUM!! Staff was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Bf said the green chilli sauce on the burrito was awesome. Not spicy but very favorable. Our order included the Mixed Grill classic breakfast with scrambled eggs, the custom scrambled eggs with mushrooms,onion, tomato, & spinach with a side of fruit, side of crispy bacon, and 1 of their cheddar jalapeno briskets, a biscuits and gravy, and a cinnamon roll with crispy bacon side. The cheddar jalapeño biscuits are to-die-for and was perfect with my 4-ingredient scrambled eggs! Our server was excellent. Definitely will go again. read more

Caveat: I have not dined in person at Carver's. However, a conference I just attended in Winter Park had breakfast catered by them and WOW! These cinnamon rolls are possibly the best I've ever had. There is just something about the perfect density and texture and the perfect even amount of glaze frosting. Man they were so good! (Yes, they...I took an extra for the road). The ham and cheese croissant was also excellent. And yes, I had a croissant and a cinnamon roll! Don't judge me! Highly recommend and I'll be coming back for more on future trips to Winter Park! read more

Dont be in a hurry! If you are looking for a quick breakfast to get on the slopes, this is NOT a wise choice. We were here in their busiest winter season and they have 1 server. The food was decent but with 1 server, by the time you get it, it is cold. Winter park as a whole is REALLY hurting on their service industry. It is too bad! read more

Visited the "new" location for the first time last week for breakfast. I was the first customer in the door. Seem to have plenty of staff as there was a lot of standing around chatting. The actual place is cold...they claim the place across the street had no heat (I never had a problem there) but this place was freezing. I was seated at the bar next to a tabletop heater that did not help. The space had evidently just been vacated by a staff member as I ended up having to move their coffee and a dirty dishrag. The food was mediocre at best. I had the sugar waffle (used to really like the chocolate chip version) with potatoes on the side. Both items were barely warm (might have been because the entire place is SO COLD); the potatoes were dry and had little flavor. Also had a cup of hot chocolate which started out warm but quickly cooled unfortunately. The "ambiance" of the place across the street was much nicer imo for a breakfast place. This place now feels like a run down bar that happens to serve breakfast -- disappointing. Rabbit was my server and was pleasant enough. read more

Can't speak to the food as we waited at the host station to check in for over 5 mins and after someone walked past us multiple times without so much as acknowledging our presence we left, as did the people behind us. There were multiple tables open. We understand some places are under staffed, but greeting the customers and giving them an idea on wait time is truly not that hard. read more

On our annual girls weekend, we tracked down Carver's Bakery Cafe. They used to be over by Cooper Creek but moved about a mile away - so we trekked up to the new location. We got there about 1:40 pm and they were supposed to close at 2. The people working there didn't seem very happy to have more customers coming in so close to closing time. We ordered two breakfast items and two lunch items for the four of us and all of them were just average. It took a really long time to get the food and half of it was cold. Our server was nice about it and brought out some hot breakfast potatoes and hollandaise - which made the food a little better. My reuben sandwich was mostly sauerkraut - which made the bread soggy. What little corned beef there was, was tasty. Both the sweet potato fries and regular fries were good. I think I'd give them another try but I'd want to get there earlier. read more

We are at the Bagel and bakery shop next to the main restaurant. Bagel breakfast sandwiches are very good for a quick breakfast on the go. Good flavored coffee and pastry's. If you want a good tasty breakfast but don't want to sit and dine give this place a visit. I am sure the actual restaurant breakfast is good. read more

Carver's Restaurant has moved across the street in Winter Park. Now in the old Steak and Tale location - across from Hernando's. They're open for breakfast and dinner now. I came by for dinner and it was great. They specialize in Burgers, so get a burger. Several options. They've got a full bar and tons of seating, so check it out. Especially when the other places are packed. The folks are great too. Very friendly. So stop by Carver's and support another great local restaurant. read more

Whoever the "MANAGER" is with the long ponytail who is male is soooo rude. Definitely don't recommend coming here the customer service is horrible! We did come to our reservation late and the guy was so rude with rude comments did not care to service us or be kind to someone who was willing to pay for their food although he mentioned he's not talking to us because we're not paying customer and that's because he was rude as I don't know what try and hire better people that care about ALLLLLLL their customers. read more

Love stopping here on my way to Hot Sulphur Springs for a soak. The staff is always friendly, the drinks are always great, and the food is incredibly good. I am particularly fond of the potatoes - such a simple food and thing to prepare, but not everyone get's it right - Carver's does! Lots of hot sauces to choose from to add to your meal as well - and the Bloody Mary's are amazing! The veggie scramble, veggie omelet, and veggie benedict are all delicious - as well as their biscuits. I like that they offer a 1/2 order on the bennie's - perfect amount for me. read more

We've eaten here for many years and todays visit was super disappointing. They have a new menu and I ordered the salmon sandwich, which was ground salmon that did not taste good, more like what cat food might taste like. We also had a breakfast burrito, which seems like a safe menu option but they messed that up too. The chorizo tasted bad, it didn't have flavor and was smothered in Fritos. The server was yelling at the cook in front of the customers and the whole experience was grim. We agreed that we will probably not return again. read more

The service and customer service was awful. We waited over 10 minutes (we had 5 people and a toddler) to be seated. It took another 10 minutes to have water brought to the table and the server never asked if we wanted other drinks. The restaurant was not busy at all. I ordered the soup of the day and right before the food was brought out they told me they were out of the soup. I chose the alternative option and the soup was not hot. While sitting we watched an employee rudely ask a couple (who sat themselves after waiting 10 minutes) "who sat you? Well that's why you weren't served" and they got up and left. We should have left after waiting 5 minutes to be seated. Do not recommend. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because the food was ok. read more

Holy Cow! How is this place not 5 stars across the board?! Yes, utilitarian in looks. But my son went next door to the bakery to applaud the baker of the cinnamon rolls. I was overwhelmed with how delicious the vegan breakfast was. Now, I'm not vegan so I did get a scrambled egg and vegetarian green chili on it too. But the vegan sausage in this this is legit! It was incredible. My daughter had the French toast from the regular menu and loved it. And my husband had the corn beef hash, which he gave a 9 out of 10. Our server, pictured here, was fantastic. He was friendly and super responsive. If you're near Fraser and WP, I highly recommend. By the way, they have a huge open parking lot. read more

First of all GPS takes you to an old location. They've moved by the post office. Secondly, the patio is big and spaced well. It took me about 15 min to get seated and guessing that is due to Covid guidelines. Ok food. The wilderness dish with Salmon is really good. The trout and poached egg just ok but great if you are low carbing it. Two of our eggs were way overcooked. We will try it again but for lunch and see if we have better luck. It's pretty common to just order the wrong thing on a first visit. Update: 2nd visit and I'm not impressed with the help. It wasn't very busy at this visit but yet still takes 15 minutes still to be seated when there is no wait and I'm holding my dog? Patio has maybe 4 tables occupied and I can't sit down at a well spaced out patio table? Well that answer came shortly after we ordered when an apparent local came with his dog and grabbed any seat he wanted. So no wait apparently if you are a regular. Food is ok depending on what you order and that's why they get 3 stars but this time at least the eggs were poached right but, they burned the muffin. So this place has a consistency problem in addition to the lack of a hostess. Also at 3.25 for a cup of regular coffee you shouldn't have to flag down a waiter for a refill. Had it been busy I'd still not understand that. Just no excuse to have to wait as long as I did without a refill. read more
