If you ever go to Barcelona you will see Gaudi's work all over the place I mean he designed and dreamt all the big popular landmarks including this house It's a trip coming here like some twisted dream or being under some influence lol It's super fun to see peoples weird crazy visions come to life and know tons of work went into it This is just another similar house across the other house on same street
We did the evening tour for Casa Batllo and I recommend it if you have time in Barcelona. It was not as big or grand as the Sagrada Familia so if you only have time for one, I'd definitely recommend going to the Sagrada Familia instead. Both were designed by Antoni Gaudi. It is cool to see Casa Batllo which was commissioned by the Batlos, a rich prominent family back in the day. The curved walls, detailed doors, and blue water motif were very aesthetic and so were the lights for the evening tour.
One of Antoni Gaudi's beautifully designed houses in Barcelona which is now open to the public. The Batllo family had purchased an ordinary building in 1877 and asked Gaudi to transform it into a work of art. It is now an architectural masterpiece and quite modern for its time with its colorful mosaic tiling resembling dragon scales on the facade. The interior adorned seashell stained glass and an ocean theme through the house. I think I enjoyed this Gaudi attraction most and felt it was worth seeing. 5/5!
Mamma mia, how do you describe the indescribable? Even if you are not giddy for Gaudi, you are bound to be amazed walking through this unusual, unique, visionary, artful house of whimsy. It is one of the most colorful and fantastical structures in the world, and worth the price of admission and the crowds. Book ahead for sure.
If you have a limited amount of time to visit Barcelona, this site should be a visit in some sort of capacity. Take the time to either explore the museum within, the gift shop, or even if it is just admiring the architecture from the street. There is a train stop that is right outfront which makes it super accessible with the use of their public transportation. This is not some cookie cutter house and instead it gives you the opportunity to see the inside of Gaudi's mind.
Amazing place to stop by. You must make reservation many days before and ready to shell out some money. If you can't make it inside, you can always stop by the gift shop on the 1st floor. There is another Gaudi building nearby called La Pedrera - Casa Milà that you can stop by but also very popular. I will make Casa Batillo primary and Casa Mila secondary if you have time to kill.
He does it again. I was hoping to get to go when the windows are designed in beautiful flowers but this will do. The entire walk around takes you up to 2 hours top. I enjoyed that the story of each room was told by a hand held device at my own pace. Beautiful colored glass windows, colorful mosaics, curvy architecture and water felt glass.. Casa Batlló is an absolute must-visit in Barcelona. This iconic Gaudí creation is breathtaking from the outside, but stepping inside takes the experience to a whole new level. The immersive experience at night, with the lighting and atmosphere, makes the house feel even more magical. Highly recommend getting the audio tour--it walks you through the history and the incredible thoughtfulness behind every design element, from the flowing organic shapes to the intricate stained glass. Gaudí really didn't miss a single detail. It's also super easy to access via the subway, which makes getting here a breeze. You can easily spend 1-2 hours exploring the whole place, taking in the whimsical architecture, and admiring how every room feels like a piece of art. One of the highlights at the end is the immersive lightscape room, which is really fun and perfect for snapping some cool pictures. If you're visiting Casa Batlló, I'd definitely recommend checking out Gaudí's other works throughout the city--his architectural style is unlike anything else!
The architecture and designs in the home were cool and interesting. It's kind of self-guided but there are audio for each room but it's totally your own pace as to how quickly or slowly you go through the home. There is also a short immersive experience at the end. I took a few pics of this one window because I loved the design of the window & how the window slates were vertical instead of horizontal which allows for better flow. Something I plan to keep in mind for future homes.
A must-visit when in Barcelona. I highly recommend paying a bit extra and getting the platinum tickets as they not only allow you to skip the (substantial) line but also give you access to the apartment of the original owners and additional corners of the building that are otherwise not accessible for guests. The building is stunning inside and out, and don't skip the rooftop either! It is Gaudi's genius at its finest all around. Aside from the somewhat crowded experience (kind of to be expected on a rainy day), this was a very enjoyable visit. The ending in the form of Refik Anadol's 3-minute immersive movie is trippy, but really makes you feel like you are inside the mind of Gaudi.
If you had to pick one Gaudi masterpiece to explore on your Barcelona vacation... this wouldn't be the one, but hey, it's close. The reality is that you have to buy tickets to go inside any of Gaudi's masterworks. The difference is that La Sagrada Familia required making a reservation two weeks in advance, while Jamie W. and I bought the 41€ tickets for Casa Batlló about two hours before our desired time slot. Sure, they don't compare in scale or intent, but the vertical house built in 1904-1906 is quite remarkable with a flowing skeletal design and an arresting facade made up of colorful broken mosaic tiles (photo: https://yelp.to/0cKSYgVsrP). You'd think the building would stand out, but it's part of the Block of Discord, a series of four buildings built in the Modernista style of the same period. That's why this part of the Passeig de Gràcia was so crowded with tourists stuck on their Instagram app. Once we entered Casa Batlo, we were handed a tablet and earphones to take a self-guided tour. The highlights were the Atrium, which provides a constant source of light throughout the building's multiple floors (photo: https://yelp.to/JAiejV1ja3), and the Noble Floor with the mushroom-shaped fireplace and the swirling ceiling. The climax came at the rooftop terrace with the unique dragon back design and familiar Gaudi chimney stacks. After we made our way back down to the main floor, we were led to the basement where we had an immersive digital experience called Gaudi's Cube. Designed by Turkish-American digital artist Refik Anadol's, it was meant to be a deep-dive into Gaudi's mind. Between that, the rooftop lounge, and the Gaudi hologram at the beginning of the tour, it was all pretty groovy. Casa Batllo is one of Gaudi's beautiful architecture designs. I purchased the tickets online and was instructed to download the app. Within the app there is access to the tickets and the audio tour once you arrive that describes the different sections. The exterior is so beautiful and resembles a sea creature. He was known to get his inspiration from nature and it shows throughout Casa Batllo. The tour took about an hour. We went early in the day to avoid a long wait time. There are some gift shops in different sections throughout the tour and they also had an option to take a photo on the balcony which was available for purchase. When researching popular tourist destinations in Barcelona, Casa Batlló came up on many a list. I like to take in museums and other historical structures whenever I visit a new city, so this sounded perfect. That being said, I purchased tickets for us to explore during our first full day in the city. Casa Batlló is one of several structures in Barcelona designed by Antoni Gaudí. I believe this was originally designed as a private residence, and has since become a showcase of the type of work Gaudí produced. The visits are self-guided, and once you enter you are given an audio guide that you can use throughout the house that provides information about the space you're in. The house itself is gorgeous. It's so intricately designed with different themes throughout the space. The audio guide really helped here as it told the history behind each room. I found myself snapping tons of pictures, or just standing there and taking it all in. As expected, there were a couple of gift shops, and some interactive exhibits scattered throughout the house as well. Note that not all spaces are open to all guests, it depends on the type of ticket you buy; that being said, even if you get the base ticket you will see a lot. Also, this place naturally attracts Instagrammers - be aware there are lots of people posing for the camera, Overall, Casa Batlló was an awesome experience. It was my first taste of Gaudí's influence on the city, and I would definitely return for another visit. read more

Beautiful Casa designed by Gaudi. The tour was included on a package so our guide was very thorough. They are many tour options! Gaudi designed the property and much of the furniture and you can sample a few of the seats. Lots of cool history and just wonderful architecture too. The gift shops are both well stocked with great souvenirs too. read more

We did the evening tour for Casa Batllo and I recommend it if you have time in Barcelona. We purchased the gold ticket. The main benefit is that we were able to change the date/time. Besides that, I would've been fine with the basic blue ticket. I didn't care much for the extra rooms. The augmented reality tablet was also a hassle to carry. The house was completed in 1906 and is an UNESCO World Heritage Site. The facade is beautiful with floral elements. The stone columns are in the shape of bones and the balcony railings are shaped like masks. The noble floor with the stained glass windows is a main point of interest. This is where we were served a glass of cava. The blue atrium was pleasing to the eye while walking up the flights of stairs. The roof terrace was also nice with different colored "scale" tiles and shaped like a dragon's back. It's a beautiful house, but I didn't enjoy my time here. Why? The main reason is that it was overly crowded. We were herded from room to room. It is quite warm inside, with only some fans blowing. This is also the most expensive of the Gaudi locations we visited, and I didn't feel like the experience was worth it. read more

this is 100% a must-see in barcelona. we came in for the 9pm evening slot and with the sun setting, the house was filled with the most beautiful soft light that perfectly accompanied gaudi's work. the house is restored beautifully, colorful yet soft, and as a marine-lover it gave me the feeling of walking through a coral reef in the mediterranean sea. the ticket came with a glass of cava, which was delicious, and a portable audio guide that automatically played the most delightful facts in each area of the house. i feel lucky to have witnessed such an architectural marvel in person, and especially love the site's dedication to supporting neurodiversity! 10/10 experience i would recommend this to anyone visiting. read more

Small, intimate place but get the early 0830 start as there are less people and you can explore at your own pace. There is a pre exhibit and also post exhibit (the room is warm). When it's crowded it's very hot and stuffy, so be warned. Gift store is at the end of the tour. Highly recommended! read more

允許別人做別人，允許自己做自己，一歲有一歲的風景，一站也有一站的味道，做自己， 跟著自己的心走就好！ 這麼美麗的建築，不來好好的一探究竟實在太可惜，我們住的旅館離這個Casa Batllo 非常的接近，所以我們在裡面逛街，每天都在旁邊走來走去，不管我們幾點過去，前面總是排滿的人潮，那我們真的到裡面去探訪時，天啊！真的是要走往下走，再往上走，再往下走，再往上走，可以確定一件事情，就是要到這個地方來，一定要趁你還年輕的時候，腳還走得動，不然對老人家我而言，就已經好像在開運動會差不多了，高帝的建築物，從頭到尾沒有一條直線 ，有到巴薩隆那來， 這裡， 要來歐！ read more
when in barcelona, many things will end up being gaudi associated tours or visits...casa batllo included...gaudi designed apartment building...ticket prices vary by day and time...bought the silver ticket for 36 euros, and children 12 and under free...31 euros for blue is the basic and you get an audio tour included...silver includes the "dragon" rooftop access...41 euros for gold and 51 euros for platinum which provides extra perks...lines by access time for your ticket...separate silver or gold lines outside...platinum line inside...get your audio device and headphone...as you walk along the path through the house, your audio device detects your location and starts the audio tour as you go through each access point...it's a unique curvy design and lot of opportunity for cool pictures...the rooms, the stairs, the rooftop, hallways and every inch of a gaudi designed structure is quite unique...got the silver pass to see the rooftop which was okay...prices seems a little steep for the experience... read more

CasaBatlló is a UNESCO World Heritage site and an icon in Barcelona, a must see for those who want to discover Gaudí's work and modernism at its finest. It is also one of the most highly rated cultural and tourist attractions, welcoming 1 million visitors every year. I was so fascinated by the phenomenal architecture that is Gaudi art known as modernism. I have been inside 3 x. Casa Batlló is located at number 43 on Paseo de Gracia, a beautiful boulevard similar to Champs-Elysées in Paris. Josep Batlló i Casanovas was a textile industrialist who owned a few factories in the city. Since the 1950s Casa Batlló has changed hands many times, and although it's currently owned by the Bernat family, nobody lives within the house's whimsical walls. In 1995, the Bernat family opened the house to the public and presented this architectural gem to the world, offering the use of the building for events. read more
This is a UNESCO world heritage site that is a must see if you're in Barcelona! It has an aquatic theme and every room will make your jaw drop with the unique architecture. I love how it was designed to utilize natural light andorned with stained glass that is reminiscent of elements in the ocean. It is a wonderful mix of history and colors. This was an amazing tour. From the main entrance to the rooftop, the architecture designs are impressive. The only way I can describe it as, it's a live version of a home from Dr. Seuss. Every detail is interesting, the wall texture, the ceiling designs, the staircases, everything is so unique and one of a kind. Every design choice had a reason and purpose. We had an amazing time going from floor to floor, Barcelona is amazing. read more

This house which was designed by Gaudi is extremely popular, so buy tickets ahead of time and see if the silver or gold class of ticket better suits your needs, as those also have priority when waiting in line to get inside the house. We bought blue tickets and when we got there, about 5 minutes before our ticket time, the line was out the door and to the corner, it was considerably long. The silver and gold lines only had a few people in them. The Gold ticket also gets you into more rooms, so there are more sites to see. The house is very interesting and definitely worth the wait to get in. People just need to be more considerate of others around them, especially when trying to get "the perfect picture" and stopping in areas or on stairs for a while to take several shots to get it - that's ridiculous - Don't be that person! There are gift shops inside and there's even a café on the roof, before you hit the "go back" route down the stairs to the street level. If you're not into walking lots of stairs, I wouldn't suggest this site, as it's all stairs and while there's a very small lift, it doesn't look adequate enough for a wheelchair and I don't think they use it for guests. read more
We visited Casa Batlló in the early morning, paying extra for the convenience of not battling any crowds and it was entirely worth it! Casa Batlló is easy to find as the architecture outside is absolutely beautiful. It's also located right on the Passeig de Gràcia metro which is great for those traveling by the subway system. Casa Batlló starts with a jaw-dropping lights and animation display that is so peaceful and imaginative. You are then handed headphones and a tablet that immerses you into the world of Gaudi, the architect of Barcelona's wealthy citizens. With the early morning ticket, you can go at your own pace. Make your way to the top of the house and gaze at Barcelona's skyline as you admire every room on your way up. Gaudi is brilliant and beyond talented. End your visit inside a stand-in room, completely covered in screens (not recommended for those with epilepsy) as the entire room lights up with shapes, sounds, and movement. This show is three minutes and is so cool! We were allowed to stay in the room for a second showing because it was just that amazing to see. Casa Batlló is overall wheelchair accessible and there's an elevator that takes you to the rooms, however, there may be a few things missed due to stairs-only rooms. The restrooms are clean and really neat as well! So do take a quick stop before adventuring to see more of Barcelona. This was a highlight of our trip and I highly recommend getting an early morning ticket to start the day off right. read more
This is definitely one of Gaudi's works that you should check out if you're in Barcelona (this and Sagrada Familia, at the least)! The ceilings, stairs, chandeliers, walls, doors and much more are all interesting and come together to make this worth the cost of admission. There are a few tourist trap type elements to it (having your photo taken and paying for it, the gift shop, etc) but I know that the proceeds from those things go to the foundations to complete/conserve Gaudi's work. So it's a double edged sword, necessary to keep the art alive, but taking away from the art a tad bit :-( If the line is long for tickets and you are wanting to get in without the wait, I advise buying the skip the line digital tickets from the Batllo website. It's only a few dollars more and you can buy them in under a minute on your smartphone if you get to the Casa and the line is crazy! So overall it is a tad expensive if you only view it as a "house tour" but it is quite beautiful and worth it as a work of art. read more
Casa Batlló is an absolute beauty. This man Gaudí really knows how to throw a masterpiece together. If you've seen other buildings that have been designed by Gaudí, then you'll easily be able to tell that this is also one of his famously designed buildings just by looking at the outside. Gaudí's love for designing using unique shapes and bright colors really shine through with Casa Batlló. His heavy use of intricate stained glasses and mosaic art is quite mesmerizing. The ceiling details and lovely chandeliers are also not to be missed. If embarking on a self guided audio tour, you will learn about the great measures that be took in designing each and every element of this structure. The home is actually several stories high and has a ton of rooms, but obviously not all of them are open to the public. But still, what you're able to see during your visit here is quite stunning. The self guided tour includes an audio set with headphones. You'll be scaling up quite a few stairs, so I'd suggest that you wear comfortable shoes. Usually the rooftops have been my favorite element of Gaudí buildings, but this is one where the interior blows the rooftop out of the water. There are two separate lines near the entrance; one for tickets and the other for admittance into the museum. If you haven't purchased a ticket or you have a Go City Pass, you must redeem your ticket first before heading into the admittance line. It's best to get your tickets in advance to avoid the lines and confusion. At the end of the exhibit, there's a neat video that transports you into a virtual art reality. They give you the option to stay and watch it or to leave. If you have time, check it out. It's quite neat and is only a few minutes long. If your a fan of Gaudí architecture, I'd highly recommend a visit to Casa Batlló. read more
**January 2023: Monday Late Afternoon Visit** My friend and I bought tickets for a 3:15pm visit to check out one of Gaudi's masterpieces. Tickets were €35 for adult admission and we took about an hour and a half to explore. We arrived at 3pm and finished around 4:30pm (though we both took a look of photos/videos). The price of admission does seem a bit high and this particular exhibit had quite a few tourists; however, I really enjoyed seeing Gaudi's genius in incorporating different elements of nature into each room. It was colorful, whimsical, and quite fabulous. I enjoyed it! read more
Simply amazing, this was our number 3 favourite spot in Barcelona after Sograda and Parc Guel. A bit crowded and you should arrive at least 15 min before your timeslot as there is a lineup even for people with "skip the lines" tickets. The roof is the most amazing spot and perfect for Instagram memories. read more
I love Gaudi's work and this place celebrates it like none other. I've been so many of his landmarks in Barcelona but the whimsical vibes here are so enchanting! What a sight to see! Be sure to add this to your list and get tickets early! read more

This was visually pleasing on the outside and just as appealing on the inside. I assumed it would just be a walk through thing, and had no idea what I was getting with the price we paid. We paid for the most expensive Gold experience. We got a tablet with headphones that gave us an interactive tour. It's self guided, with full explanation of Gaudi's vision behind his design. We got a glass of champagne when we reached the livingroom area and looked down at the Main Street. The extensive detail put into this home was astonishing. I enjoyed the roof top terrace. There's a gorgeous bar you can buy drinks from. At the end of the tour there is a 3 minute video experience that is awe inspiring. All walls, ceiling and floor are screens. We loved it and highly recommend going. read more
