The food is flavorful and the service prompt!!! This is Stevenson Ranch's best kept secret! Whoa!!

    Chilaquiles with entraña special.

I keep going back. But this egg, asada (entrana) and chilaquiles à la poblano sauce were a bit too expensive. $35!??? Too much if you ask me. For $10 less or more - although that's still TOO expensive- I can get their regular chilaquiles with add on eggs and add on asada. But either way, these breakfast items were so good and flavorful! I'm satisfied and will keep coming back, albeit a bit more cognizant of the fact that their "specials" don't necessarily mean "cheaper than the usual." I understand if you can't afford it "stay home." But for a breakfast date after a date night without kids, splurging on this place is a must. Besides, once we're empty nesters, I'm sure I'll take advantage of their beautiful bar cove (they got mango cart on tap with chamoy!)

We decided to have dinner here tonight. They provided us with a basket of tortilla chips with a up of really good bean dip. We shared the street corn, which was excellent, Then the chicken taquitos which were really good. The cheeseburger was good except for the wilted lettuce and the bun which was toasted too much. Our waiter was Jose, and he did a terrific job!

First time at this location but I've been to the other one several times. The parking is spacious and the restaurant itself seems larger but it doesnt have the same vibe with the high ceilings, sparse decoration. and lack of patio seating. But staff was still friendly and attentive when checking-in and as we were eating. We shared a mimosa flight. I could have sworn you were able to choose 4 flavors before but this time only 3 options offered. It wasnt featured on the menu like it was before. Regardless, got the pomegranate, pineapple, and strawberry. I recommend the pomegranate and strawberry. To eat, we ordered the waffle benedict, trio sopes, and the corned beef hash. The mixed of sweet and savory is always enjoyable with the benedict hash. Personally, I enjoy it when the hollandaise sauce is more lemony but I dont mind theirs. Their home fries used to have more seasoning on them so it wasnt as appealing this time. Sopes were good too, just needed to ask for some salsa to go with it. Its a decent breakfast spot, leaning toward Mexican cuisine.

I visited Casa Canela and tried the Mango Habanero Chilaquiles. The flavor was great, but I personally prefer when chilaquiles are made with fresh-fried chips rather than standard tortilla chips. The service overall was very good. The hostess had a pretty dry personality, but my waitress made up for it with her kindness and attentiveness. Clean place, good food, and solid service. I'd definitely give them another try if I'm in the area.

Had a later breakfast while traveling. This place was recommended we had not been here. It was really good. A good menu even had traditional choices. Wait staff was friendly. Good food a price variety and it was clean and nicely decorated. Good choice to stop in for a tasty meal.

I was excited to try the food here since about a month ago being telling my husband and we were finally able to visit this past Sunday 4/19 like around 3:15pm the place is very large and spacious looks very clean, our waiter not so much not attentive at all just basic waiter skill not really friendly, besides that my biggest disappointment was the food honestly my expectations were higher when I saw the menu, but my pork pipian was very bland and the sauce you can tell it was canned sauce no seasoning no flavor and the pork it's a piece of chuleta de puerco nothing like an authentic real pipian recipe, my husband red chilaquiles were also disappointing tomato sauce canned with no spice at all to be chilaquiles and excessive cheese the chips they are bagged chips very hard and staled. Gave it it tried.

Came here twice. First time I ordered the burrito, no beans, and I enjoyed it very much! Second time I ordered the street tacos... that was a mistake. Did not taste fresh and it generally was a big let down. The place is clean and the staff is nice. However the staff come by so often to check on the table that it gets annoying quick. I would definitely come back for the burrito!

After a long drive we made a stop for some brunch. The location had plenty or parking up front. Upon walking in you noticed how nice and neat everything looks. We sat down and ordered some cafe de olla and browns the menu. Everything looked delicious but couldn't beat a traditional torta de lomo. Very delicious. My friend got some chilaquiles and she also enjoyed. This place felt cozy and homey. Service was fast and enjoyable. Definitely recommend.

I ordered the chicken taquitos for take-out and the presentation was very nice and colorful. It had cabbage, cotija cheese, tomatoes, and chipotle sauce on top. The chicken had a smoky flavor which was different but the chipotle sauce complimented it very well. I enjoyed the taquitos and would get them again.

In our search for great breakfast spots in Santa Clarita, we were eager to try Casa Canela after many recommendations in local groups on Facebook. Everything was FANTASTIC. From the atmosphere (very clean and inviting) to the service(Anahi was amazing), to the food(YUM), overall a great experience. The food was so good. Everything tasted homemade, and fresh. The jam for the toast was so good we ended up eating it with the pancakes. The poblano sauce was heavenly, I could pour that on anything and devour it. Highly recommend this place to anyone trying to decide, just go...I promise you won't be disappointed. Sorry for the half eaten food pics, it was at about this point I kept shimmying in my chair, I knew I had to write a review so I quickly snapped some photos before it was all gone!

A really unique spot. Kind of like a Mexican version of Norm's. They have a dinner menu, but it seems brunch is the real focus. As it should be! Omelets are fantastic. They also have a vast array of pancakes, waffles, and Mexican breakfast specialties. They need more locations!

Our breakfast- $60 for two people with OJ and Latte.

Like to support our local businesses. This was our 2nd time visiting this restaurant, overall experience was pleasant. The Huevos Rancheros was absolutely delicious!! The multi grain pancakes were missing a few gains and was very doughy. Definitely not an item I will order again. The $8 fresh orange juice was not bad but next time I will skip due to the price. The $6 latte didn't taste like it should have been $6. It definitely tasted like an instant gas station coffee/latte machines. The service was good! Loved the lively atmosphere and we were seated fairly quickly. We will go back to try some more items on the menu.

I absolutely love breakfast burritos and felt this is a place where I could get a good one. I was wrong. The menu said the burrito contained bacon, sausage, egg and hash brown potatoes. Apparently, what they did was blend all the ingredients together into one bland concoction and wrap it in a tortilla. Not a single ingredient was identifiable. Also, the burrito arrived blazing hot so I assume it was also microwaved. It was served with a small bowl of salsa. I was with a fairly large group and it had taken awhile to get our orders taken and food delivered. To send back my food and order something new would have had me receiving my new order as the rest of my group were getting ready to leave, so I ate about half my burrito and kept my mouth shut. Everyone else at my table seemed to be pleased with their meals, so apparently I had selected a poor choice from their large menu. If you want a good breakfast burrito, I recommend getting one from a food truck and at half the price.

Ironically, this song, by Lesley Gore, released in 1963, was playing as I was seated at a booth during the last few days of operation of this historic restaurant. Since the announcement that The Original Saugus Cafe, established in 1886 (!) is closing on January 4, 2026, it's been inundated with loyal clientele and history buff / foodies like me. Recently, in 2022, it received an honor as the oldest operating restaurant in L.A. County. How can you resist a place that has served the likes of Frank Sinatra, Charlie Chaplin, Marlene Dietrich, John Wayne, William S. Hart, Mary Pickford, Clark Gable & two U.S. Presidents? It's very old school diner inside, with a couple of small dining areas on either side of a long bar with many single seats. The day I visited, right before New Year's Day, it was crowded, with every seat taken. I waited for a booth in the first room by the front door. I ordered country fried steak and they were so busy that it took an hour to receive it. It was quite delicious and the fluffy pancakes, scrambled eggs and home fries were tasty too. Had I lived closer by, I would've become a regular too. Most of the souvenirs were sold out, especially coffee mugs and tshirts other than size small. So sad to see a piece of real L.A. County magic go...I can still imagine the actors / actresses out here filming Westerns and stopping by here for dinner at the end of a long day of movie making. Rest in Peace.

Some of our longtime favorites there were the chili, chili spaghetti, French dip, and chicken fried steak, which is why this visit was especially disappointing. The chili spaghetti recipe has clearly changed. The flavor now feels very bland and lifeless compared to before. I also ordered the French dip and the meat was dry and tough. Overall, the food quality just doesn't seem to match what this café was previously known for. It also feels like the restaurant is moving away from its original café identity and shifting toward more of a Hispanic/Latin-style menu. Nothing wrong with that direction if done well, but longtime customers like us who enjoyed the original menu and flavors we're very much you kidding me running too fast disappointed by the changes. Based on our experience with two dishes that used to be favorites of ours, we honestly have no desire to come back and try the other items we once enjoyed, including the chicken fried steak. The experience left us expecting that many of the other recipes have likely changed as well, and that the same flavor and quality we used to love is no longer there. Lastly, prices have increased and the environment felt very dead which adds to the disappointment.

It seemed as though there were about 10-12 tables inside, and all the employees work with one another to wait on the tables. We showed up around 10:45am on a Saturday morning, and to our surprise there was no wait. We were sat immediately and ordered a cappuccino and Arnold Palmer to drink. Then, I ordered the Salmon Benny with home potatoes, while my partner ordered the Churro waffle combo. It did take about half an hour to get our food, but it was well worth how fresh everything tasted. My salmon benny came on an everything bagel with cream cheese, and the salmon was served cold (in a delicious/ good way, not like it was frozen. I just wanted to make a note of this because usually when eating a salmon benedict the salmon gets warm from the temperature of the english muffin and egg). Then, the home potatoes had onions, and bell peppers and I kept commenting on how fresh the bell peppers tasted. My partner had the churro waffle with eggs, sausage and bacon. They really nailed the churro flavor of the waffle. Both our plates were completely devoured with no leftovers to take home. For our two drinks, two entrees (and the added combo to the churro waffle) it ended up being $53, which we found to be extremely reasonable for the quality, portion size, and service provided. The only thing I would mention was the parking lot gets a little crowded. They share a parking lot with the other stores in the plaza, and there were several spots open only because there were a lot of bigger cars who were over the line. No fault to the restaurant itself, just something to be aware of.

This is my fourth time coming here, and unfortunately, it will most likely be my last. I ordered a coffee and Belgian waffle combo. From the start, the server's attitude felt dismissive, but I gave it the benefit of the doubt. While waiting for my food, I drank about 90% of my coffee and was never checked on. I watched another customer nearby receive his meal, finish it (steak with avocado), and get his table cleared--all while I was still waiting. When my waffle finally arrived, I had no coffee left. I politely asked the server for a refill. She acknowledged me, nodded, and then proceeded to clear the other customer's table, take another order, and continue working around the area--passing by the coffee station multiple times without bringing my refill. At one point, she even stopped to grab her own Stanley cup and take a drink of water. After waiting and realizing I was being overlooked, I got up in the middle of my meal, asked for the check, paid, and left. I understand places get busy, especially being so close to Magic Mountain and Interstate 5, but basic follow-up--like bringing a simple coffee refill after acknowledging the request--should not be missed. This experience felt like a lack of attention and priority toward the customer. Very disappointing
