Service was good Chilaquiles were okay. The sauce is more like a tomato sauce needs a little more flavor/ spice. The pozole was really good. The mimosas were hibiscus, mango, and peach yummy. Plenty of parking. It used to be Coco's.

First time at this location but I've been to the other one several times. The parking is spacious and the restaurant itself seems larger but it doesnt have the same vibe with the high ceilings, sparse decoration. and lack of patio seating. But staff was still friendly and attentive when checking-in and as we were eating. We shared a mimosa flight. I could have sworn you were able to choose 4 flavors before but this time only 3 options offered. It wasnt featured on the menu like it was before. Regardless, got the pomegranate, pineapple, and strawberry. I recommend the pomegranate and strawberry. To eat, we ordered the waffle benedict, trio sopes, and the corned beef hash. The mixed of sweet and savory is always enjoyable with the benedict hash. Personally, I enjoy it when the hollandaise sauce is more lemony but I dont mind theirs. Their home fries used to have more seasoning on them so it wasnt as appealing this time. Sopes were good too, just needed to ask for some salsa to go with it. Its a decent breakfast spot, leaning toward Mexican cuisine.

What a great family restaurant! We came in on a random weekday from a few storage runs nearby. We were welcomed, greeted and sat within 5 min. I got the best chilaquiles I've ever had and I'm not even exaggerating. I cleaned that plate. An older man, in a casa canela red shirt (I'm sorry I didn't get his name) came to talk to us in between our meals and he was just so pleasant to talk to. A plummer was fixing the women's bathroom and was so polite, he cleared the men's bathroom for me and stood outside to make sure no one else went in while I was in there. We love casa canela and I'll be back to try more of their menu items!

I keep going back. But this egg, asada (entrana) and chilaquiles à la poblano sauce were a bit too expensive. $35!??? Too much if you ask me. For $10 less or more - although that's still TOO expensive- I can get their regular chilaquiles with add on eggs and add on asada. But either way, these breakfast items were so good and flavorful! I'm satisfied and will keep coming back, albeit a bit more cognizant of the fact that their "specials" don't necessarily mean "cheaper than the usual." I understand if you can't afford it "stay home." But for a breakfast date after a date night without kids, splurging on this place is a must. Besides, once we're empty nesters, I'm sure I'll take advantage of their beautiful bar cove (they got mango cart on tap with chamoy!)

I visited Casa Canela and tried the Mango Habanero Chilaquiles. The flavor was great, but I personally prefer when chilaquiles are made with fresh-fried chips rather than standard tortilla chips. The service overall was very good. The hostess had a pretty dry personality, but my waitress made up for it with her kindness and attentiveness. Clean place, good food, and solid service. I'd definitely give them another try if I'm in the area.

We decided to have dinner here tonight. They provided us with a basket of tortilla chips with a up of really good bean dip. We shared the street corn, which was excellent, Then the chicken taquitos which were really good. The cheeseburger was good except for the wilted lettuce and the bun which was toasted too much. Our waiter was Jose, and he did a terrific job!

Wanted to try this place because of the reviews. I ordered Chilaquiles habanero's. For some reason they were sweet as if they had added sugar. They didn't even cooked the chips in the salsa just threw it on a plate.

Had a later breakfast while traveling. This place was recommended we had not been here. It was really good. A good menu even had traditional choices. Wait staff was friendly. Good food a price variety and it was clean and nicely decorated. Good choice to stop in for a tasty meal.

Came here twice. First time I ordered the burrito, no beans, and I enjoyed it very much! Second time I ordered the street tacos... that was a mistake. Did not taste fresh and it generally was a big let down. The place is clean and the staff is nice. However the staff come by so often to check on the table that it gets annoying quick. I would definitely come back for the burrito!

After a long drive we made a stop for some brunch. The location had plenty or parking up front. Upon walking in you noticed how nice and neat everything looks. We sat down and ordered some cafe de olla and browns the menu. Everything looked delicious but couldn't beat a traditional torta de lomo. Very delicious. My friend got some chilaquiles and she also enjoyed. This place felt cozy and homey. Service was fast and enjoyable. Definitely recommend.

Ooops!!!! before I knew it the burrito was gone

It seemed as though there were about 10-12 tables inside, and all the employees work with one another to wait on the tables. We showed up around 10:45am on a Saturday morning, and to our surprise there was no wait. We were sat immediately and ordered a cappuccino and Arnold Palmer to drink. Then, I ordered the Salmon Benny with home potatoes, while my partner ordered the Churro waffle combo. It did take about half an hour to get our food, but it was well worth how fresh everything tasted. My salmon benny came on an everything bagel with cream cheese, and the salmon was served cold (in a delicious/ good way, not like it was frozen. I just wanted to make a note of this because usually when eating a salmon benedict the salmon gets warm from the temperature of the english muffin and egg). Then, the home potatoes had onions, and bell peppers and I kept commenting on how fresh the bell peppers tasted. My partner had the churro waffle with eggs, sausage and bacon. They really nailed the churro flavor of the waffle. Both our plates were completely devoured with no leftovers to take home. For our two drinks, two entrees (and the added combo to the churro waffle) it ended up being $53, which we found to be extremely reasonable for the quality, portion size, and service provided. The only thing I would mention was the parking lot gets a little crowded. They share a parking lot with the other stores in the plaza, and there were several spots open only because there were a lot of bigger cars who were over the line. No fault to the restaurant itself, just something to be aware of.

You're drawn in by the familiar, comfortable design featuring mirrored signs with writing in Victorian style fonts that continue onto the menus. They have marble tables and counters, with comfortable chairs, and lots of light coming in through the windows. The staff is all smiles and very welcoming, happy to help you navigate the very interesting bill of fare, and making sure your cocktail is made exactly as you like. I was dining solo, so I sat at the bar, and James took excellent care of me from start to finish. I asked for a Bombay Sapphire Martini with Olives; James immediately offered regular or blue cheese-stuffed olives, and asked if I preferred the martini shaken or stirred. The drink that emerged was well-balanced, cold and very tasty. The menu is filled with all sorts of interesting choices. Some are familiar items like salads and fishes and hamburgers or cheesesteak sandwiches done in their way -- but my eye immediately went to a very unique starter: Duck Fat Potato Confit. Say what? As James explained, it is a whole potato that has been slow cooked in duck fat (confit, as we know) and served as the main attraction in the dish as one might similarly feature a duck leg or short rib. I had to order this, and it turned out to be one of the most rewarding dishes I've eaten in a long time. The aforementioned, slow-cooked potato initially appears a bit like a whole boiled potato, but looks are deceiving. Because of the cooking method, the potato holds it's consistency and shape much more than a boiled or baked potato, cutting almost like a protein. It's solid but tender, and as it has absorbed quite a bit of flavor during the cooking, this potato is far tastier on its own than those other iterations. But you are NOT eating this potato unadorned. Oh no, this potato is dressed with caramelized onions, smoky bacon lardons, wild mushrooms and a rich, very flavorful demi-glace. All together, you've layers upon layers of flavor that make you ignore all distractions and really concentrate on the pleasure you're getting from your food. But that's not all... Perhaps the cleverest element of a dish composed entirely of clever elements is the Mornay Sauce. Snow white, and with enough of just the right cheese to add texture to the Bechemel without becoming too powerful, the sauce is plated on the bottom, with the potato resting atop it. Visually, this looks like mashed potatoes served underneath a protein, and it plays the same role texturally -- but because you wouldn't serve potatoes with a potato, the sauce is a lighter accompaniment, whose flavor marries perfectly with the more complex sauce coming from above, and you cannot help but marvel at this stroke of culinary magic. Just wow. I finished with a dessert of Key Lime Budino, which was rich and creamy with a serious hit of sour from the Key Lime. A nice and refreshing shift after the savory richness of my entree. How lucky are the people of Newhall and Santa Clarita that they have a restaurant making such interesting and excellent food? I come up at least once a month for a music event, and how lucky am I to have discovered this place to eat beforehand? And by the way: if you live in the San Fernando Valley, this place is really less than 30 minutes away (without traffic), so the next time you're thinking of going over the hill to a place in Beverly Hills or Santa Monica, you may want to head North instead. I promise you, The Old Town Junction will become your new favorite.
