We ordered pan fried swordfish which came with a small salad. This was done well but it was a bit fishy for me. Garlic sautéed cauliflower and sautéed green beans was pretty great since we missed vegetables. The garlic shrimp was not the best here but the flavor was good. It was not the best meal but we liked that it was slightly different from the typical menu. The service was friendly and hospitable too.

I was surprised to find that tortillas in Spain are vastly different from tortillas in The States: They are warm potato cheese cakes, almost like scalloped potatoes, but with extra fillings like onion, ham, etc. A command of Spanish is definitely needed here, but I was okay just as long as my other two friends ordered for me. If I had to order on my own, I could have easily whipped out my Google Translate app and gotten through everything okay. ;-) The tortillas were FILLING. I mean, I only had a couple slices and I was completely full! The nice cold beer really helped wash things down. I think I'll keep this place in my roster the next time I find myself meandering around the streets of Madrid.

4 Americans walk into a bar…read more.. We were in Madrid on holiday and one of the neighbors at our Airbnb recommended this little gem nearby. From the outside, it might not look like much, but this is now one of my favorite restaurants! First of all, the service was fantastic. Unlike other local establishments, our server was fast, attentive, and most importantly, she gave us the best recommendations! This place was packed by locals on a Thursday night so that alone was a great sign. We ordered vino tinto and beers. And they brought out some fried calamari, mussels, and bread to nibble on while we looked at the menu. We ended up getting the tomato and tuna salad which was fantastic! I can't wait to replicate this at home. Then we had jamón iberico and some tomato bread, and for our main course we feasted on a seafood platter (pictured below). That was definitely the star of the show. Although it took some work and was a little messy to peel all of the shells off, it was worth every effort! The seafood was so fresh! Lastly, they brought out two types of liquors for us to try after dinner, along with little chocolate ice cream bites and chocolate truffles. Overall, this place was also perfectly priced. For all of this we paid only €110, which I thought was a great deal for a group of 4, considering all the food and drinks we ordered. I would definitely recommend this place to locals and visitors alike. It's a little loud, so I wouldn't recommend it for an intimate date. But great for small groups!
