Lovely lovely place. We walked in to the smell of heaven, absolutely delicious cocoa smell, I've never smelt such fresh chocolate smell. They offered a very unique experience. As we walked in Derek greeted us and truly sold us on the chocolate because of his kind and helpful demeanor. He was clearly passionate about his work and made us all have a wonderful experience. They offered samples and a truly unique chocolate selection. They use fresh cocao pods imported from around the world and the chocolate truly shows it. We visited Casa Chocolates, after calling first, to see how chocolate is made. It was very interesting. We then moved to the most important part of the visit: tasting the chocolates. There is a display of the various dark and milk chocolates that are retailed; with wrapped thin wafers for tasting each type--so you can make an informed choice. There were four of us, and we each preferred a different type of chocolate. Everyone was very helpful. Highly recommend. read more

This place is a must go for anyone interested in the making of chocolate for the bean or for anyone who can appreciate a beautiful bar of chocolate. The owners are wonderful people who are passionate about making handcrafted chocolate. They are one of only three businesses in Texas that make bean to bar chocolate. For anyone who doesn't know what bean to bar means, they literally receive the cacao bean, roast them, dry them, age them-so on and so forth (which takes about a month) and end up with a gorgeous bar of chocolate! As a culinary student studying baking and pastry, they welcomed my classmates and I into the kitchen to see how they actually make the chocolate. The whole process is incredibly fascinating and a very interesting place to visit. They have several different flavors of chocolate they have created as well as CBD infused chocolate bars. My favorite was the Mexican hot chocolate bar! The price reflects the hard work and time put into creating bean to bar chocolate but it is ABSOLUTELY worth it!! It takes a special person to go through the whole process of pulling out each and every flavor until it's perfect to run a place like this! This isn't just a store that sells chocolate. This is an incredible family-owned-and-operated business that is making chocolate. From selecting the beans, roasting, to bar production, they really shoot for incredible quality throughout.The chocolate maker and his wife are incredibly knowledgeable and more than happy to explain as much or as little as you'd like to learn about chocolate. The chocolate is incredibly complex and delicious, like fine coffees and wines. They have a couple of different bars and even though two are both 75% dark, they come from different regions and have some very interesting differences in the tasting notes. Everything is controlled very carefully and the chocolate is incredibly pure -- just cacao, organic free trade sugar. They do have some other inclusions, like pecan, peppermint, cayenne or the delicious Mexican Hot Chocolate bar, and it seems like they may roll out some special limited availability things and new inclusions. This chocolate has quickly become my absolute favorite chocolate - especially the dark peppermint! The place is VERY clean but still feels really welcoming and warm. The branding and layout of the store is all very thoughtful and clean. It's really a unique and fantastic experience to try the chocolate, talk to these folks, and learn more than you ever thought there was to learn about chocolate.
