My group of friends and I went to Casa da Gávea on Wednesday night for the forro event. After paying R$10 (early bird special), we climbed up the stairs to find a live band playing some super cool progressive version of forro classics.
If you're a woman, it's common to stand around the dance area and wait for the guys to come up and ask you to dance, which is common and happens quickly. So ladies looking to pick up cute guys, this place was a find (same goes for guys looking to pick up women). The crowd was a little on the younger side (21-35, I'd say) and people were definitely on the cooler, more alternative side of the spectrum.
There's also a bar to help you get ready for all the dancing. Definitely worth going if you're looking to dance. If you don't know how to dance... well, this might not be the best place to start learning. read more
