This was one of the highlights of our visit to Lisbon. We had actually planned to go to another bar nearby but which was closed for some reason, so we walked past this tiny place and at first mistook it for a wine shop, but saw tables inside and stopped in for a glass of wine. Which turned into several, and one of the most memorable evenings of our stay in Lisbon. Our server was charming and personable, the owner stopped by an hour later and we spent time chatting with her, as other patrons came in they began to interact with each other and the evening just took off! We started with some regional wines then switched to the house wines and were not disappointed. We also had some olives and bread and a charcuterie plate, and that became dinner (we'd had a late lunch) but the atmosphere was just so warm and welcoming and atmospheric. The eclectic music they were playing was fantastic and helped set the mood. We have - how do I say this? - spent a lot of time in bars at all points along the quality spectrum in places all around the world, and this one had a vibe that just oozes charm and warmth and we were very reluctant to leave. As our server said to us, "When you travel, it's not about the place, it's about the people" - and we couldn't agree more. Five stars. read more
