The service at the dessert shop, deli, and the main store was great. Everyone there was friendly and helpful. The food at the restaurant was very good, and we really enjoyed our meal. Unfortunately, our experience with our female server was completely different She barely interacted with us. I asked her for a side of ranch, and it took over 10 minutes for her to bring it. The same thing happened when we needed our drinks refilled it took more than 10 minutes. It honestly felt like she ignored our table most of the time, except when she took our order and when it was time to pay This happened on Monday around 5:00 PM.

4 stars for Casa De Fruta & 5 PHENOMENAL STARS FOR RIC!!!!!!! My family and I have driven past Casa De Fruta on numerous occasions and never thought to stop by and check it out. Located in Hollister, this is a well known family owned attraction. Here you will find a market, a restaurant, and some fun kiddy attractions. The attractions are what brought my family and I here. After seeing social media posts about the activities, I knew I had to take my toddler here to explore. Fun attractions available are: 1) Casa de ChooChoo 2) Casa de Carousel 3) Gem Mining 4) Casa de Playground [a whole playground kiddy structure] We purchased tickets for the carousel and the train ride. The carousel seemed a little outdated and could use a little bit of maintenance. some of the seating rocked a bit- nothing unsafe but definitely had some unexpected movement. Casa de ChooChoo was by far our most favorite attraction. At $5 a ticket, this little train takes you all around the property. This was a good 12 minute ride so you aren't rushed to get the next load of riders on. The views aren't anything amazing but the seating is comfortable and you get a nice break from being on your feet. Popular purchasing staples include: fresh produce, dried fruits, spiced or candied nuts, & CDF's pomegranate wine. We walked away with some pink pineapple, assorted jerky, candy, & caramel apple. I'll have to come back and try their pomegranate wine again because of all the raving- I got a bottle a few years back as a gift but didn't enjoy it at all. Hopefully my palate has become more refined with time. LMAO! Shout out to Ric. Thank you for the delicious samples and even better convo!! You shine in a store full of staff, you are my favorite part of my very first visit to Casa De Fruta.

I try to stop here on my way back from Pacific Grove every trip, to do the following Stretch my legs Get some Hot Sauce Grab some Dried fruit (specifically the Dried Strawberries are elite) I hear the restaurant is also quite good but I have yet to try. It contains Several buildings with a vast parking lot, this place is quite the mecca for a traveler needing a stop. Restaraunt, coffee sgop, deli, fruit, fried fruit, hot sauce, ice cream, a train ride for the kids, and the nicest restroom Ive seen since I hit a Buccees. Prices can be a little higher, but the quality of product is top notch. From the selections of Hot sauces, to almost every version of dried or candy feuit you can think of. They also have a selection of oils, wines, rubs, and candy. I got myself a bottle of got sauce, some dried strawberrys, and an ice cream cone. Well worth the stop if you are out this direction.

The wine & deli is a miss I assure you that needs a visit. Their restroom accommodations have upgraded and are above standards near the deli and ice cream shop, they have a full carousel, playground, tickets needed for the choo choo train ride, and much more! Back to the deli. It's pretty simple, you order and turn on at the deli of a half sheet. They make your order, tape it to your lunch it was done in 5 minds and they were pretty busy. We paid before exiting and found a table to eat outside. Mr. E and I decided ahead of time to share a sandwich and that was the smartest decision because my simple turkey and salami sandwich had so much meat in it and other toppings. We were so grateful for the portion size but struggled to finish our halves. We also ordered the kids the grilled cheese sandwiches and they loved the cheese pull!

They have significantly increased prices and never get the chili lime pistachios. they added citric acid to them and it gives them a wannabe candy type flavor. very off putting. Would have been so great without it. and for 20 bucks is crazy. Their fudge used to be a good size container for like 16 bucks that you can share with the family. now its like 3 bites for 14 bucks. disgusting.

Wine tasting, the pomegranate and sparkling version are my faves.

Casa Dr Fruta is part of some of my earliest memories! Every summer we drove to Monterey/Carmel and casa de fruta was always a pit stop on the way. There are so many fun things to look at and places to play for kids. Clean bathrooms and tons of candy and delicious snacks. The diner has traditional greasy spoon type food that always hits the spot on road trips. As an adult, I keep coming back for the same reason but now I also make special trips specifically for their amazing pickle selection! They have the best and biggest pickle section I've ever seen and I have a pickle fridge at home that needs restocking a couple times a year. I made the drive last week to do just that. Casa De Fruta will always be a special place for my family and I.

I have not been here since the bypass of the main road in 1992. I am impressed how well it looks very cozy, clean, and very lush & green. Plenty of fruit/candy/and stuff for purchase. There is a restaurant/wine/ice cream/ and some small things to do for small children. Let's not forget they still offer cabins for rent for a staycation here at Casa De Fruta 4.26.26 0700 Hrs

Made a quick stop for lunch on the way to an event in santa clara with my church. I love stopping here. It is always so magical.I used to come here all the time with my parents. My mother loved the pomegranate wine. I always get An italian soda , some chocolate covered fruit or gummy bears. This trip i'm solo and that's okay. I am sitting in the moment ate a really good BBQ sandwich from the wine and cheese building. Grabbed a strawberry macaron I ate before I could take a picture of it. Oops but it was soo delicious. The weather was amazing, warm sun jice dmbreeze birds chirping. Always a pleasure stopping here before and after a bay area venture. All the staff are always so nice and attentive. They grounds are clean and the bathrooms are clean. Nice place for kids and families. Train rides and playground and carasoul can all have tickets purchased inside where the ice cream is!

Stopped by Casa de Fruta specifically to visit the deli and wine area, and we were honestly blown away by how huge this place is -- truly something for the whole family. We each enjoyed a glass of Chardonnay, which was very good and perfect for a relaxing stop. We shared the California Express sandwich, made with turkey, bacon, pepper jack cheese, mayo, mustard, lettuce, Roma tomatoes, and pickles on wheat bread. It was excellent -- every bite was flavorful and satisfying. Simple ingredients, done really well. A great spot to grab a bite, enjoy some wine, and explore. We'll definitely be back.

What a cool place to stop on our road trip from Orange County to San Jose! Perfect for snacks, beverages, and a general refueling for yourself, mind, body, and spirit. ;) So cute everywhere you turn, many tasty treats, and everyone is super friendly. Give it a try!

In my opinion Casa de Fruta should be designated as a historic landmark. I've been coming here most of my life as you pass by it while on the Pacheco Pass Highway on your way to the Bay Area from the Central Valley. There is so much to see and do and eat, but it's very commercialized compared to the old days of the fruit stand and restaurant. CdF is a lovely place to visit and stretch your legs during a long drive. There is the restaurant, Ice Cream Shop, Wine Shop and Deli. Service is okay and could be friendlier but the grounds are very beautiful and worth a visit. I stop there every time I head to Santa Cruz and cannot wait to visit again.

(Update) Love the new restroom at this location. Stopped for brunch this morning. Service/restaurant was great. Price is reasonable. Very spacious. Store: Had plenty of items. Ice cream was yummy.

**October 2025: Sunday Afternoon** My friend and I were driving home from Gilroy and saw a big sign on the freeway that advertised pomegranate wine. I was intrigued and asked my friend if we could make a detour. As we made the exit what we didn't know was that Casa de Fruta was a destination for the Nor Cal Renaissance Fair - so getting off the freeway did require a bit of effort and there were a LOT of cars in the area. Thankfully, we were able to secure a parking spot right in front of the Casa de Fruta restaurant and gift shop so we were able to check it out pretty smoothly. We entered the shop and wow it totally reminds me of Knott's Berry Farm. There were many different nuts, fruits, jams, and other artisanal goodies throughout the shop. As we walked further into the shop we noticed a big island of pies. I glanced through a bunch of them and another random customer told me that the "Fruit of the Forest pie" (berries, apples and rhubarb) was a hit at her family gathering. With such a positive endorsement I decided to pick that up as well as a pecan pie. Let me just say that the Forest Pie ($19.99) definitely earned me some brownie points at work lol and that the pecan pie ($15.99) basically disappeared at bible study. Near the other side of the gift shop we saw a wine sampling area as well as a bunch of red and fruit wines. I sampled the fruit wines and while I really enjoyed the mango one, I still felt that the pomegranate was very unique and picked up two bottles ($20.99 each) to gift. The gift shop has a big assortment of edible souvenirs and while the dried fruits, nuts, jams were all packaged beautifully, the prices were definitely premium. I would return and pick up more pies because those were very popular! and maybe even stay at one of their cabins because it looked cozy! I will definitely be back!
