Casa De Montecristo is by far the nicest Cigar Lounge in Illinois if not the world. The owner Sam is incredibly gracious and kind. If you ever find him with a spare minute strike up a conversation with him. The staff is resourceful and on the ball. Jimmy always has a good recommendation. The lounge itself is magnificent. The decoration and atmosphere simply does not get any better. The cigars are always kept at proper humidity unlike many other B&Rs. You really cannot go wrong with this place. It is always important for a cigar enthusiast to feel comfort and pleasure in his surroundings while puffing away at a fine piece of tobacco. When I first came in, i thought the place looked like a movie set. The service is helpful and friendly, and an older gentleman with a big mustache help me select a fine array of cigars that I happily smoked while reading. All were fine premium brands and had rich blends that were very tasty on the pallet. Whenever I am stressed by work or life I always find time to come over and smoke a few down. It is a little pricey, but the money is well worth it for anyone who loves cigars. i think for Christmas, I might get my brother a small humidor from the fine selection they have. read more

This place is a must see for the cigar lover. Massive humidors with every cigar you have heard of plus all the vintage ones you never heard of. If you want to join as a member the dues are $250 a month but you get exclusive access to all of their events and their theater room. The bf and I checked out MonteCristo when we were bored one evening. We didn't end up buying a cigar but we totally get the appeal of this place. It's a giant upscale man-cave. The VIP lounge downstairs is plush, BYOB and offers food. The cigar selection upstairs is top notch. On top of that, the service is very friendly. What a great place! I mean, seriously....you do not need to go too far from the city to enjoy a great smoke at a fines establishment such as this. I was invited by a dear friend of mine to accompany him at a lounge (Casa) he had membership at. I have been to several in the city, but never to Casa so I finally we ended up going here late night on a weekday after a good meal in Orland Park. As soon as I walked into this store, I was blown away with the amount of cigars around me. The place was clean, smelled excellent, and best of all...had everything under one roof. You can walk in, talk to knowledgeable staff members, select a cigar or two, and if accompanied by a member...walk downstairs to a lounge and enjoy an excellent smoke while sitting on some lush leather sofas and drink some Illy espresso if you wanted. I mean, just to keep it real simple...you HAVE to go here and at least witness this yourself. Not many businesses get a 5 star consistently....especially from people who smoke cigars, who are known to be well traveled and read so their ratings account for some respect. I have been all over the world and nothing compares to this. Sam and Mike have a classic executive casual store. The exterior looks like a quaint restaraunt from the outside but t is like walking into heaven with a cigar in your hand... Seriously Each wall to wall humidor is individually controlled. There are 3 walk in humidors. There's one for boxes, there's a humidor for exclusive first run cigars that you can't find anywhere but the individual factory, and finally there is the vintage room with thousands of cigars you can't find period. Ask for the tour. They will take you downstairs on America's ONLY smoking OK elevator to the VIP lounge. This place is AMAZING!!! There's a movie theater, conference room, leather booths, dozens of leather chairs, and a bar that's 30 feet long. I challenge anyone to find a more elite cigar shop than this. Oh, and if you were wondering, Sam and Mike take the hit on the tobacco tax. The cigars are very competatively priced and you don't end up spending 2.50 extra at the register. The nicest looking cigar shop in the area. I once met a cigar distributor and he said it was he nicest place in the Midwest. Great selection and the prices are very reasonable. It a monthly fee or a one one fee to go into the basement cigar bar. If I owned a bar is make it look like that haha. Once I was there and there's a guy in front of me in line wearing a Cubs hat. In front of him the guy is wearing a Cardinals hat. Tw cubs hat guy says why are you wearing a Cardinals hat we have the Sox and Cubs to choose from. They joked around a little and the Cardinals hat guy walked downstairs. The Cubs hat guy had a friend walk up to him and say "you idiot he was wearing a Cardinals hat cause he owns the Cardinals. The first thing you will notice when you walk through the door is the wide variety of cigars. We were greeted by Jimmy and he showed my two friends and I around the first floor. Jimmy seemed ok at first. He gave us recommendations on cigars he liked and told us about some future events they might have. After, the owner, Sam took us downstairs to show us his vip room. He literally made no conversation and said very little to us. I was asking him questions about his shop and cigars he liked and he would reply very coldly. He acted as if he could care less if we were there. He brought us downstairs and presented us the "movie theatre" and that's it. He said he had to bring us upstairs because the shop was closing in a half-hour. When in reality, it was only 9:15. As soon as we were on the 1st floor jimmy was pressuring us to buy something, ANYTHING. I could tell the owner was trying to make jimmy do this, but it got annoying fast. What Sam really meant was, let me bring you to the 1st floor so I have enough time to pressure you to buy a cigar. Not Only that, check this out, it's $250 a month to be a member of their vip room. The only reason I'm giving two stars is because of the customers. The people that buy from there were more fun to talk with then the people working there. Other than that this place doesn't deserve any stars. The only people shown any bit of respect as a human being were his regular customers or those who made a big purchase (usually bulk purchases). The only reason I even knew of Sam's name was because jimmy said it once. Sam didn't introduce himself or care about anything except if we were going to buy something. Too bad...this place had potential. The only reason I checked this place out was because of all the praise they received from the people here on yelp with their 5 star ratings. read more

A wonderful place to relax. The most extensive humidor in chicagoland. This place is a museum for cigars. The cigars a perfectly kept so that each one smokes well. There is plenty of space to sit and enjoy a great smoke. The ventilation system is the best ever. The smoke is not recycled or filtered, it is drawn out of the building and your never get that smokey haze. I enjoy the vip area where there are multiple tv screens that feature anything you want to watch. They have a theater room with nextflix and dvd's so that you can enjoy a movie experience along with a fine cigar. It is byob so enjoy a fine wiskey with your cigar. I go at least once a week. Me and couple of my buddies went there to look for a good cigar shop and to smoke. We weren't disappointed for the selection of cigars, but we weren't impressed by the salesmen there. They may have been knowledgeable on cigars, but not really helpful. I felt rushed to buy something due to they told us they were closing at 10 but it was only 9. They just kept pestering us to buy. It seemed they were more about business then customer service. They weren't friendly to us, but as soon a customer with a nice suit came in, right away the owner was his best friend. The owner Sam, not that friendly just showed us the vip room for a sec and said we need to get up cause we are closing. When we left at 10, to go out there where still cars left, i thought they were closing at 10. Other customers were allowed to stay late. read more

Was there in August, very nice selection of cigars for the Chicagoland area. Did manage to visit the VIP room which is an excellent area to smoke a cigar. I did not care for the house cigar selection, bland and over priced. Told by salesman future usage of the VIP lounge would mean $250 a month membership fee or $250 a month in cigar purchases. I hope I heard wrong, but was too shocked to ask him to repeat that. So enjoy the complimentary VIP visit. Its my first and last. 8-( read more
