    Birria Nachos
    Martha E.

We met family here and the cuisine was too spicy, no matter what you tried. We tried the birria tacos, birria nachos, carnita bowl with red sangria and queso dip. All their entrees were not for my mild palate, salsa was not chunky and it's way too hot for an average person. Add hot sauce then. Won't be returning, there are much better authentic Mexican restaurants!!!!!

Very nice local feeling restaurant which has a good selection of all your traditional items and some relatively new ones like birrida, which we ended up getting for lunch. Food was good, flavorful, and served fairly quickly, important for lunch time. We also had a couple of margaritas with a better tequila, they have a fairly good selection so I'm sure you'll find something that hits the spot. Service was good, perhaps partly cause they weren't too busy on a Saturday afternoon, also cause they were well staffed. Ambiance was fine. Felt a little generic but was just fine for where we were. We'd come back again, if time allows it, while we're visiting STL.

Gooey, cheesy goodness! The enchiladas suizas were most deliciously covered in a lovely green salsa and white cheese. The burria ramen had a nice, flavorful broth. But the standout of the meal was the sweet chili wings appetizer! A perfect blend of sweet and just a little zing over hearty wings. So yum!

Went on a busy Saturday night with 6 people. The wait was about 45 minutes but actually turned out to be about 30 minutes. The bar area is small but the bartender was great and we had a drink while we waited. Our waiter was great brought chips and salsa and took our drink orders right away. I would have liked a little more salt in the chips. We did order the Diablo salsa and it is HOT!! It's great to mix with the regular salsa. I ordered 1 chicken el pastor taco and one grilled shrimp taco Al la carte. The shrimp taco was fantastic, loved the citrus flavor and pop of heat. The chicken taco was so salty I couldn't eat it and sent it back, the waiter did take it off my bill. I would definitely go back and get 2 of the shrimp tacos!!

What a great Mexican spot! Spacious inside and I absolutely adored all the sea glass artwork. The margarita was delicious(on happy hour!). We ordered a taco salad and two tacos. The taco salad was delicious along with the Carne asada taco! I ordered a chimichanga with plantains to go for my husband. The chimichanga was huge! And the plantains were the perfect blend of sweet and salty.

My first time visited for lunch with some coworkers. I love the decor inside. Service was fast since we came at the earlier lunch hours. I got the carne asada bowl for lunch and it was soooo good... I couldn't finish and had to save some for dinner! Not pictured is the amazing queso!!! One thing I was surprised is the salsa wasn't as good?! It was kind of too sweet. I'd definitely come back and try more items on the menu!

It's been a hot minute since my last visit. Met up with my son around 12:45. No problem getting a seat. Only a couple servers. We had to find a server to let them know we were ready to order. We weren't in a hurry so no big deal. What ordered: - Birria Torta (4.5/5): Fantastic. Large portion, but my son was hungry. Fries were decent. - chicken al pastor taco (3.75/5): Decent, citrusy, chili flavor. Missing some salt and "char" of traditional - double wrapped taco with brisket (4/5): very tender and good cut of meat, but could have used some more spice in the meat. - elote (4.25/5): I haven't met much street corn that I didn't like. This one hit! - black beans (4.25/5): Seasoned and cooked well. Good option! Love the decoration and ambiance.

Great atmosphere and food. Tucked away in a remodeled strip mall, where 7-11 use to be the Anchor. Birria was cheesy and tender. Enchiladas were Soo flavorful. The Queso Funido was deeeelicious and the chips were fresh! Service was super quick and attentive on a busy evening. Definitely a place to dine or just grab a couple of drinks after a day of shopping.

Really enjoyed our experience here! Service wasn't the quickest in the bar, but it was only the bartender for the whole area. The food was really good, and totally worth it. Busy on a Sunday, but totally worth it. Cute place, and we will be back.

Great experience first time dining here. Nice ambiance. Host sat us promptly. Our server, Christy was great! Very attentive and answered my questions about the menu thoroughly. Food and drinks were excellent. Thin, crispy chips and delicious salsa. We will be back!

Elote, the starter a huge portion!! So great tho it was delicious

A delicious meal! I enjoyed eating the elote with the beef barbacoa bowl, the barbacoa was so soft and flavorful. The service was super friendly and quick! The restaurant had a good amount of seating with some light music.

I get it. Nice Atmosphere with plenty of booths, good prices on beer during happy hour, fantastic salsa and warm chips, friendly service with a smile. All of that was our dining experience last evening. We both ordered the Queso Burrito with Steak and a side of Beans. The meal was a good value and there was plenty to eat. The meat was very flavorful, however, I couldn't get over the dryness. It felt to me like it had been sitting in a warmer drying out all day long and then assembled into the burrito. My wife's burrito had the same texture and she noted a strong garlic taste which our server attributed to the beans, however, my wife believes the taste was from the meat. Probably will not repeat.

Nice clean , well decorated and ample seating inside and out plus a full bar plus they offer a daily happy hour specials. Service was excellent as was the food., chorizo empanadas were great, flaky crust with plenty of filling served with a garlic, sauce. The tacos are perfect with plenty of filling and toppings and the Elotes were a nice change from rice and beans.Chicken fajitas were loaded with nice tender well seasoned chicken and plenty of veggies.and enough for 2.

Delicious food, beautiful decor, and decent pricing!!…read more I've been here a few times, so I brought my mom as she has been talking about this place for a while. Walking up to the entry gives you vacation vibes from The decor, tropical plants and modern aesthetics. Service was 10/10. All the staff we encountered were so friendly. They came by to check on us, and even the owner/manager came out to check in and make sure everything was good. The tacos were absolutely delicious, seasoned well and every ingredient was FRESH. I ordered the Galveston, and the Baja, and my mom ordered the del Rio and the Biloxi, and we shared a trifecta appetiser.. The queso and guacamole and salsa were some of the best ones I've had. The portions are plentiful. Definitely give them a try. They add something new to the menu every so often, and They offer brunch as well.

This location was very close to where we were. It was the perfect time to try it! Ambiance: I really love the esthetics of the restaurant. The floral arrangements in the front is very inviting and added a great touch. I also loved the covered outdoor seating areas available, along with the indoor option. We surprisingly opted to sit outside, because heat is not my friend. The industrial fan definitely helped! I felt like I was sitting on one of friend's veranda in the carribean Food: I really enjoyed the food. Tacos are a la carte. For appetizer we opted for the Trifecta which came with guac, queso, and rojo salsa. Let me just say, their happy hour deals are a great steal! Order: There are a couple different ways to order & pay. Use the traditional way of having the server take our order by raising the card "Lets Taco Buddha it," or by scanning the QR code and placing order yourself & pay online. At first, I started the online order because I felt like this would allow me more time to read the menu and order on my own terms. I ended up raising my card and having someone take my order despite having it all in my cart. Tacos are served "family style" comes out on the same platter. We opted for the Baja ( battered pallock) & The Jodhpur (marinated grilled chicken). The kiddos opted for the quesadillas and fried chicken taco. Everything was flavorful (with the exception of their hot/mild sauces, those were flavorless, however not necessary to add). Not going to lie, I made a joke to my mom about the food being served on a surgical tray or "doggy platter." LOL lol. Service: They use a team model. I saw multiple staff going throughout the restaurant checking on needs & refilling water pitchers. Everyone was really nice, they had small toys for children to play with at the table and it's always a plus when they strike up a conversation with my kiddos. Parking: We arrived shortly after 4pm and there were lots of spots available. By the time we were leaving, there were two cars waiting for spots. It is also located alongside a busy street, the restaurant did get packed for dinner on a weekday. Pricing: Prices does add up very pretty quickly, however 1 Taco can be very filling especially if you opted for appetizers. The only thing I would have changed is not to order my meal the same time as my appetizer. It came out almost together. I would have liked to enjoyed the appetizers prior to my entrée.

I'm always on the lookout for a good Mexican restaurant, in case I need a burrito all of a sudden,…read morefor emotional reasons. Amigos Cantina might be the place to go in Kirkwood, which strikes me as the kind of place where the spice level is often inquired about. I'm not even sure if there's a Taco Bell nearby. I did a five-mile run before I sat down to eat, but it was mostly through residential areas. I kept the volume at a reasonable level, out of respect. I never actually went into the restaurant. A member of our group went in and requested a table for like 12, but then we just ended up sitting at the tables out front, on the sidewalk. We were considering those tables anyway, as connoisseurs of al fresco dining, but someone said there was also a patio out back. If the interior is anything like the sidewalk out front, I'm sure it's just lovely. The signage reminds me of the branding on one of those taco kits you get at the grocery store. I consulted Copilot while I was at work, doing desk calisthenics, getting myself pumped up. You may recall that I also sought its counsel before a trip to a Jersey Mike's a while back. (If they've yet to release a version of it in Italy, they might consider calling it Consigliere.) Specifically, I asked it the best thing to order. It recommended a few entrees featuring the shrimp, which must be highly regarded, and a certain kind of margarita. I can't remember which margarita it was, and I didn't end up ordering it. Separately, I saw where someone posted a picture of a flight of margaritas, and I knew I just had to have that. I've been obsessed with flights of drinks since I saw one was available at a brewery I recently visited. I didn't get one, and I've been kicking myself ever since. It might be my life's greatest regret. With the flight, you get to pick four of six available flavors. I got the peach, amaretto, raspberry and pomegranate, and I know one of the other available flavors was orange. It comes in its own custom tray, designed to be carried without being spilled. Each one is a decent-size drink, but they're not especially stiff. Ayo! As you might suspect, given the (overall) amount of alcohol you get, it's not exactly top shelf. But it's not the Kool-Aid-tasting swill that comes from a dispenser either. Of the four I got, I preferred the peach and raspberry to the amaretto and pomegranate. I went with Cilantro Lime Shrimp, which *was* in fact one of the recommendations from my trusty copilot. It was great! It's served over rice, so it kinda soaks up the liquid from the shrimp, but without becoming overly soupy. They obviously make these all the time and have gotten it down to a science. They fan out the shrimp on the plate so it seems like they've given you more than they have, but it's still a pretty decent amount, for a dish that's not that expensive. It's garnished with fajita-like peppers and a surprisingly piquant, erm, pico. The lime really sets it off. It's served with tortillas, and I packed each one with a bit of rice in addition to shrimp, peppers and what have you. It made for a surprisingly hearty meal, like one of those cans of soup that's advertised primarily to men. If, for some reason, I find myself in the area again, and I'm in need of a burrito, I'll be back, and hopefully I'll take a look inside and explore the menu further.
