Pulling in and out can be a little tricky because of how busy the road is. Plus our GPS told us to turn on a road that runs directly behind the place but there is no entrance back there.

The scene shots, the pictures, painting and props, just top notch and very "well" done, speaking of the well, it was great, we both did poses in the well with precious and the music and the background music and all were great, we had a blast. A++++++++. It was great, and if you can get a bunch of people to go, all the more better. It can slept 8 so it would be a great and fun group weekend. For an older home, you would expect it to be a little musty, but no, it was fresh and clean and just wonderful. I loved having coffee watching the trains go by, car counting. it was just awesome, all of it. Watching the Silence of the Lambs on the big screen up stairs, while being in the house while watching it, was epic and a nice way to top off the evening. Bravo Chris, Bravo, we, my wife and I, have been hosting Halloween parties for almost 4o years, so I am used to sweating the details, and I can tell you are spot on and caught every detail possible. Overall: A good, casual campground with clean cabins and decent amenities…read more We recently stayed at Benner's Meadow Run Campground for the Labor Day weekend and had a good overall experience. We stayed in Turkey Cabin 1, which was clean and adequate for two adults and two children. The full-size refrigerator was a nice feature and gave us plenty of room for food and drinks. One thing to be aware of is that the cabin photos on the website can be a little misleading. They may give the impression that Turkey Cabin 1 has a separate bedroom, but the main bed is actually in the living area. Our friends stayed in the Grouse House, which did have a small separate bedroom. So, if having a separate bedroom is important to you, make sure you confirm the cabin layout before booking. The stairs leading to the loft are another thing worth mentioning. They have very shallow steps and a fairly aggressive incline and, in my opinion, are not built to normal building-code standards. Thankfully, we had no issues with our two 11-year-olds using them, but I would definitely be more cautious with younger children or anyone who has difficulty with stairs. The campground store was convenient, but I think it could be stocked with more basic necessities such as milk, butter and similar items. It did have many of the typical camping essentials, including items like batteries and other supplies, so it was still useful to have on site. We rented a golf cart, which was definitely worthwhile. The electric cart had surprisingly good power and handled the campground's stone roadways very well. It was a convenient way to get around the grounds. The pool was clean and well maintained. As someone who owns a pool, I pay attention to water quality, and the pool appeared to be fresh and properly maintained from a chemical-balance standpoint. The biggest disappointment for us was the fishing. We were there over Labor Day weekend, and the fishing was very, very slow. The larger lower lake appeared to have more activity and life than some of the other areas, but we saw very few fish being caught aside from a handful of bluegill. If fishing is going to be a major part of your camping trip, I would keep expectations modest. Overall, I would recommend Benner's Meadow Run Campground for people looking for a casual camping experience with clean grounds, decent amenities, golf-cart access and some activities over holiday weekends. It isn't a luxury camping experience, but it provides a comfortable enough setting for a family camping trip, especially if you go in knowing what to expect from the cabins and fishing. Last concern about the cabin was that the hot water lasted maybe 2 minutes. Dreadful. Use the shower houses if you require more time like most do.

Our trip was almost ruined when my husband realized he left our camper power cord at home but the camp host, Chad, was incredibly and was able to make it work with an extra cord he had on site They had such fun Labor Day activities and the kids loved the playground, putt putt, and riding bikes. This is my return to HVF Just came from an after wedding…read moreparty for 100 people and it was out of a story book. SPECTACULAR! Beautiful horses and the scenery..to die for! The Barns were decorated with twinkling white lights and the stage was jumping with the sounds of "the girls in black hats". The Farm has a 5 star bed and breakfast for $125/night!! We went on hay rides and rode horses and ate like a feast from the romans! The hospiality and atmosphere has me still daydreaming I am there. A definite recomemdation for any gathering!

It was incredible to see demos of this gaited breed that has its origins in Puerto Rico and Colombia to be shown in their splendor right here in the Northeast. The farm has impeccable stalls for horses, a huge indoor show arena with skyklights, an outdoor arena and round pen, all with glorious views of the open rolling hills of the "Laurel Highlands." I can't wait to go back to stay at the elegant but reasonably priced bed and breakfast right on the premises. The day I was there, I noticed they were setting up for a private event, a birthday luncheon on the deck of the guest house with a top chef, live Spanish guitar, and roses on the tables, it looked fabulous, and so romantic. The ideal cozy getaway spot for R & R, or as an event space or party space, HVF makes you appreciate the beauty of the country. Horses + hospitality, a winning combination, with views as far as the eye can see!!

This is near skiing, and you could enjoy beautiful Somerset fall foliage. I'm told it is rarely humid in the area. It is also close close to the memorial for flight 93. We were in town with family for a funeral and this was a very comforting place to gather and spend time with family and friends. The owners and staff are considerate and kind. They took marvelous good care of us.

With one of the Frank Lloyd Wright packages purchased in advance, we were able to spend some time in this little town right outside of Pittsburgh and one full morning at Wright's masterpiece, the Fallingwater house (which has now officially been declared priceless!) The bed and breakfast's website will have you convinced that West Newton, PA is a gorgeous riverside town. Don't believe the hype. While it's okay, the town is nothing to look at it not exactly walkable. Between the Victorian home and the "downtown" area, we were hard-pressed to find any sidewalks. We did take the hotel manager's advice and rent some bikes (okay, I admit it--we were cheesy and got a bicycle built for two) in order to ride along the pretty bike path that runs along the Youghiogheny River. (Don't worry--you can just call it by its nickname, "the Yock.") Apart from the town being relatively desolate (hardly anything was open) and unattractive, the b&b was oozing with charm. We weren't sickened by it, however. We had a GIGANTIC, ornately carved king-sized bed, a big bathroom with a whirlpool tub (note: no shower--I assumed that there would be one, but only some rooms have 'em), and the WHOLE HOUSE TO OURSELVES. That's right. No one was in any of the other four rooms, and the owner and manager live off-site. Glory be! We felt rich and famous for two days. I feel terrible for forgetting her name, but the woman who arrived bright and early to serve us breakfast at whatever time we desired it was really friendly, funny, and kind. She asked us in advance if the next day's meal would suit us and gave us tips about the area. (She even gave me a slight discount on the two-day Wright package since we didn't have enough time to go to two different FLW sites.) Overall, it was a lovely experience. I would highly endorse a trip there if you're going to be in Pittsburgh (or are from Pittsburgh) and want a quick getaway where you will either leave the hotel most of the day to explore the luxuriously beautiful Laurel Canyons region OR if you're just going to stay in the hotel all day long (insert low growl noise). I have a serious love hate relationship with Hidden Valley…read more Let me start with the pros: - Smaller lowkey mountain = smaller crowds and shorter lines - A great place for a beginner to learn, my boyfriend learned how to ski at Hidden Valley. Every time we go to a bigger mountain (like Okemo) he says he would have been too intimated and overwhelmed, and would not have enjoyed learning there. - Epic pass: if you have the pass, it's super convenient Cons: - The rental process is long and chaotic. Lines can get long and disorganized. - Rental equipment is NOT GREAT. After renting equipment at some other mountains, we feel that the quality at HV is a significant downgrade - The bar (Glaciers?) is way too small to accommodate the crowd. HV is small, but the bar has maybe 10-15 tables, and they're ALWAYS packed. Unless you get lucky and show up as someone's getting up, you're out of luck. - Ice Ice, baby. I get this is part of east coast skiing, but those icy patches are not fun. All in all, this is fine if it's your local mountain, but keep your expectations low. If you're just looking to get out and hit some runs, Hidden Valley is definitely passible

I'm a first timer at Hidden Valley, and a beginner skier. We came to Hidden Valley a day after…read moreskiing at Seven Springs. A couple of differences from Seven Springs that I noticed and appreciated: the heat lamps and tent and the wider green/blue trails. I did my first blue trail run here!! I came on a Friday (1/29/21) and there weren't many people, so there wasn't a wait at the lifts. I also had a lot of space to myself on the trails! I liked the towline at the top between the North Summit and the Valley. I got in a few runs at the North Summit then took the towline to the Valley, and I thought that was pretty convenient! We spent about 5 hours here. We also ordered chili and Mac n cheese for lunch at Glaciers to Go, as grab and go items, which took under two minutes, then ate outdoors under a heating lamp. Some people chose to eat indoors at the restaurants, but personally, I'm not comfortable with that. I'm just glad there are options for everybody's comfort. I lost my phone and asked guest services if anybody had turned it in. Guest services was polite and helpful even though they didn't have my phone. They asked for a number they could reach me at if it was found. At 9pm that night, we got a text from Ski Patrol saying they had my phone! Picked it up the next morning!
