Really phenomenal Mexican food in a strip mall in Lincoln county? YEP! I often order carnitas when we go out for Mexican and my husband tends to order a chimichanga with steak. Our first visit to Casa Garcia, we stuck with those favorites. WOW. WOW. W O W!!! The carnitas are in a class by themselves! Tender, juicy and still on the bone but with an amazing CRUNCH of a caramelized meat crust on the edges. Easily enough meat for two people and in fact I got lunch, dinner and breakfast (yes, it was good enough to start my day!) out of the huge portion served to me! My husband did not notice that the chimichanga had green peppers until he cut into the first of two on his plate. Thankfully, the pieces were large enough for him to pick out and while Mexican had not been his first choice on that particular day, he left saying he would absolutely return! As typical, fresh chips and salsa came to the table virtually at the moment we were seated and the salsa had lovely chunks of onion and tomato in it. Service was warm and friendly and everyone working there had smiling faces, even at the height of the lunch rush. I had to give it 1 star but should be 0 stars. First we were greeted by a very nasty server. Then my enchilada deluxe came and it was cold. I told the server and he snatched it from the table without a word (same nasty server that seated us) and brought it back to the kitchen. Now when he brought back the same plate that I ate from he tells me in a nasty tone that the salad on top makes the enchiladas seem cold. Well I known what hot and cold food feels like. I explained that the enchiladas were cold but he didn't seem to give a shit, shrugged his shoulders and walked away. I returned the plate to the bar to his surprise and told him to keep it. Ate here once before with terrible service and the only reason we ate here on a Sunday is because Mazarlan was closed. Never again. read more

THIS IS NOT AUTHENTIC Mexican food!!! Pre-made, store bought taco shells that were dry and stale, barely edible rice and beans, this is the nastiest tasting "mexican" food I've ever had. Server didn't understand the difference between unsweetened Iced and sweet tea, the chips were also terrible, (most likely came from a bag on a grocery store shelf.) Let me say-we ate here based off of a friend recommendation. The staff were very friendly. However, I thought the food was awful. My husband, who I might add will eat anything, couldn't even eat a quarter of his plate. We had fajitas, a t-bone meal, and a kids meal. We literally had a few bites, paid our bill, and left. I've eaten there twice and gotten food poisoning both times. Manager refused to accept that his food caused it until I had a doctor AND lawyer send him letters. Had to threaten with a lawsuit just to get my undercooked, toxic food comped. And even then he tried to fight it. This place is trash. read more

I came across this little gem not so long ago. It is excellent! And even better, I can feed a family of five for under $30! I had to do a double take at the bill. I have been here four times. Two at lunch and two at dinner. I mostly stay with the Chimichanga, but have tried the Shrimp Taco's. Each dish was excellent, with lots of food on the plate. Easy in, easy out, beside Lowe's. This is our favorite Mexican restaurant within 10 milea of our house. They are located in the Lowes shopping plaza on Highway 73 coming from Huntersville, or off of Highway 16 coming from Charlotte. We have been here at least 30 times, mostly for lunch on the weekends. The servers are all extremely nice and will remember your name and what you usually order if you come in often. They always have great drink specials like $1.50 or $2.00 draft beer. The food is top notch and they have the best of the best extra hot salsa if you like spicy. Highly recommend! read more

We went to Casa Garcia tonight for dinner. We come here regularly but tonight will be the last! When I ordered the waitress tried to tell me what to get instead of what I ordered. My food came out and it was not what I ordered, it was what she wanted me to have. After picking out the parts I didn't want, or should I say the parts I didn't order she never came back to check on us or ask how things were, she just dropped off the check. This is our family's favorite Mexican restaurant in the Denver NC area, food is always good. However, sadly disappointed that they aren't following the social distancing guidelines as established by CDC. They don't wear their face masks appropriately either. They seated us less than 3' away from tables on both side of us, which had people seated and dining on each our table. Of course, the people dining were not wearing masks while eating. Very concerned about possible COVID spread while eating our dinner because we were so close to other tables. Additionally, while checking in at the restaurant there were maybe 10 people in close proximity to each other' who were either waiting for a table or trying to pay their bill. This was an ok place, but nothing to write home about. Standard Mexican fare but a lot of the meals didn't come with beans and rice. Which was strange to me. Beans and rice are an essential part of a Mexican meal. Had to order the rice on the side for $ 1.25. Again spice issues. The salsa tasted like tomato sauce with a few spices added and came to the table very cold. Could be a little more spicy, but that's a matter of taste Had a combination of enchiladas, cheese, meat, chicken and bean. was a little heavy on the mole sauce and sauce was bland. I HAVE EATEN MY LAST MEAL AT CASA GARCIA!!! The last few time my wife and I have eaten here it was not as good as it once was but Tuesday night, 9/5/17 was the last straw. Went with the family, wife, daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter. Server came to the table with an attitude from Hell. We ordered and food came out super fast. like not in a good way fast, but like this stuff was pre-made and just waiting on someone to order it fast. Daughter got nachos and in the center was soupy, greasy, watery puddle. Granddaughter said her quesadilla was cold and when we looked inside the cheese in the center was cold and not even melted. When we finally got the attention of the server from Hell and told her what was going on, you could tell she could have cared less and was not even apologetic and said, and I quote "Well, what else do you want?" Daughter ordered chicken quesadillas and another cheese quesadilla for the granddaughter. Again the food came out way to fast, and when the daughter picked her quesadilla, it was soggy and started dripping grease. YUK! That was enough! We sent the girls outside and my son-in-law and I told the manager in no uncertain terms our strong displeasure with both food and the service. Manager had a bad attitude as well and did not even apologize and acted like we should not be complaining, but did comp the meal. If we had nothing to complain about then why did he comp the meal?? Your serve my family a greasy, soggy pile of crap that we didn't eat and you think I'm going to pay for it anyway?? Had to go somewhere else to eat that night. I don't know what happens to restaurants here in Denver. When they first open things are fine, then a year or so later everything starts going down hill and either food or service or both makes the place not worth going to any more. Hate to do this but we have had our last meal at our favorite Mexican Restaurant. I'm not sure how many years we have eaten here at least once a month. The service was always superb and the food consistently good. That is until tonight. We were seated as soon as we walked in as the Restarunt was not busy. Our salsa and chips were served right up and our waitress was there to take our drink and food order. The drinks were good as usual and served quickly. The food came out within 10 minutes of the order. The wife ordered a super burrito and I ordered shrimp tacos. Like I said the service was quick but that where it goes down hill fast. The wife's burrito was cold. Not just the insides but the outside also. The guy at the cash register started explaining why something she orders often was not hot as it has been every time in the past. Immediately pissed her off. My rice and beans were also cold but he ignored that and huffed off. The waitress came back about 5 minutes later and asked if everything was ok and when we said no an immediate attitude came out. She also started explaining why the burrito was cold and that went badly. The wife was unhappy, rightfully so, and the waitress copped an attitude. My rice and beans were not addressed again. So, I ate my shrimp, very good and hot, leaving the soft taco as I always do but did miss my rice and beans. The only thing I can figure was that the man usually sitting behind the cash register was not there and I had never seen the gentleman there today. I am not sure about the waitress but I am sure about the attitude. Never have we been treated so badly in this restaurant and will never be again. read more

I LOVE casa garcia!!!! The food is always delicious, reasonably priced, staff are all very friendly. My favorite dishes are the burrito vandito or the tortilla soup! When I judge a Mexican restaurant for the first time, I order a crispy beef taco and a beef enchilada. Hopefully I can try the rice and beans also. The rice and beans were tasty. Taco meat was bland. The enchilada sauce is the same ho-hum food service sauce found in so many other Mexican restaurants. Does no one make their own enchilada sauce here? It should be made with chiles and little else. Preferably guajillo chiles. Chips and salsa were not memorable. read more
