Good food and great customer service. Try the bailadas and the pollo con tajadas, they are the best in Bakersfield.

We wanted to stay downtown and were craving papusas. After weighing several options, we landed on…read moreSabor Latino. None of us had ever been, so we had no idea what to expect. This spot was tucked away, and I'm told the building was formerly an iHop? However the chairs looked like they belonged to an Asian restaurant because they had an image of ramen on them. There was plenty of seating and plenty of screens to watch games or telenovelas. When we stepped inside we were immediately greeted and asked to sit anywhere. (We were greeted in Spanish, and it seems like that was the primary language spoken there. So if you're not that fluent in Spanish, be prepared to either bring someone with you who is or brush up on the basics.) They got us menus and we were able to get what we came for -- PAPUSAS! They gave us complimentary chips and salsa while we waiting. And brought out two tubs of condiments for the papusas -- salsa de rojo y curtido (a pickled cabbage mixture). These tubs were huge, but were perfect to pass around the table. I ordered the papusa loca, which was truly massive and did not disappoint. There were peppers in it, but it was the right amount of spice. Really enjoyed it! Go give the a visit!

Visiting Bakersfield for work. Decided to get Salvadoran food for dinner. Found this spot on Yelp…read more Went there and it is located in a shady part of town. The building next-door is unoccupied and looks creepy . The restaurant windows are covered with graphics so you can't see inside and I wasn't sure if it was opened or not due to this. After entering the hostess came up to me I was sat right away. There was one other couple there. Order was taken food came out in a timely manner. I waited about 15 minutes. First time I've been to a Salvadoran restaurant where they actually brought out a tub of the cabbage and a tub of the sauce. Food was excellent. The only issue is I had to wait about 15 minutes to get my check. Other than that definitely a great spot to eat if you want some Salvadoran food.

First time trying this spot just a bite after work with some good company…read more Walking in you're greeted with seat yourself sign lol. Plenty to choose from. Customer service is great but the waters were a letdown. I forgot what mine was called, but it did not look like the picture I had seen posted in yelp. The restroom was very clean and spacious. The music gave the establishment a great vibe. I ate a fish eye for the first time!!! Not a bad taste it's like nerve if you've ever had menudo. The fish was huge and juicy just full of flavor. The rice and especially the beans were very savory. Im not a big fan of popusas, it's just not my thing but these weren't bad and the cabbage topping was very well executed along with the sauce it comes with. So for the first time I have no complaints regarding the popusas toppings. The sauce they use for my land and sea plate was so delicious and the steak was cooked perfectly along with the shrimp. I would try this place again maybe ask for more chicharrón in my pupusa and less cheese, even though I did order my pupusa with easy cheese. The chips and salsa also tasted good. I only gave this place a 4 because of the aguas other than that food is great.

They have lunch specials I'm sure there good plates but let's be honest, I'm here for the pupusas $75 dollars later. I went home to eat and I must say again they were delicious Do I recommend them: sure Will I come back: maybe, unless they promote those pupusas for a special deal. Service all servers were very friendly Ambiance was decorated as Latin style restaurants 6/10
