The walls are painted a beautiful emerald green and the furniture is modern and chic. I also am a sucker for finer details such as the plates which were unique and interesting. The owner definitely took time to create a modern steakhouse experience. I especially loved their music. They had an awesome mix of 60s, 70s and 80s playing in the background. On to the service. We were greeted by a well dressed waiter who was very friendly, professional and took great care in serving us. I have to say it was the best service Ive had in Germany to date. We ordered a variety of steaks. The filet mignon, prime rib and beef medallions. Each plate came with a side of either potatoes with thyme or house cut fries. It also came with a Cesar salad or a spring salad. The sides were delicious, especially the fries. Well seasoned and crisp. The salads were good but I didn't feel like it was really a Cesar salad. Being such a nice steakhouse, they could step that salad up a bit with fresh Parmesan, homemade dressing and crotons. Throw some flavor on it. The steaks were perfect. We each ordered medium rare and they were cooked accordingly. The steaks were beautifully made and tasted heavenly. The presentation of the meat was also very nice. We were definitely impressed. Overall I love Emma's steakhouse. It's a wonderful addition to Hanau! I am excited to go back.

Steaks are Argentinian beef. Tender and delicious and cooked to order. I found that temperatures are a little under what we are used to in the states so medium well comes looking like medium, so order accordingly. Our steaks were delicious!! The homemade steak sauce is a bit spicy but very tasty. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area and want a change from German fare!

For my last meal in Germany, I checked out Buffalo Steakhaus for dinner on a Tuesday evening…read more Steakhouses are popular in Germany and there's historical context. After WWII, a lot of Germans moved to Argentina. Argentina is known for its steakhouses. Some of these Germans moved back to Germany. Hence the connection. Ambiance (4/5): Buffalo has both a small patio in front of the restaurant and a good number of seating inside. I prefer al fresco dining in Europe but inside made for a good choice at this elegant restaurant. White tablecloths and nice decor always help. The seating is a little cramped and there isn't A/C, but this is common for Europe. Service (2/5): This one was a bit surprising. We were seated promptly. The service throughout was attentive, especially by European standards. Efficient but not overly friendly. When I asked for the bill, I gave them cash. The waiter never brought my change back. Let's keep a couple of things in mind here. In Europe, unlike the States, one to two Euros is a typical tip. And it's not standard. This is because waiters get paid more in Europe than the U.S. so they don't rely on tips. The change that I was supposed to receive was close to four Euros. I was planning to give a tip initially but I was taken aback that the waiter would assume I was giving him a large tip by European standards without asking. Never in my life has something like this happened to me. It's standard procedure to give the customer their change unless they say not to. From there, it is their option to decide how much of the change, if any, to leave as a tip. A sour end to an excellent dining experience. Drinks (4/5): Buffalo has a full bar, including an extensive wine list. Since it's an Argentinian steakhouse, I was looking for a Malbec. One, it pairs well with steak. Two, it's Argentinian. And three, it's one of my favorite types of wine. They only had two Malbecs on the menu. The one I selected was a hit. Food (5/5): When in Rome, do as the Romans do. Since I was at a steakhouse, I went with the sirloin, medium rare, with a loaded baked potato. In the U.S., when you get a loaded baked potato, it typically comes with butter, sour cream, and bacon. Sometimes cheese. Here, it comes with a lot of sour cream and some chives. I also tried some of the tenderloin and corn on the cob. Everything was beyond delicious. My steak was cooked just right. It was juicy. The sides were fantastic. A perfect meal. It won't come cheap but it's quality. I was a bit bummed my the service mishap, but overall, I had an excellent meal.

I had the Chateaubriand and a baked potato with herbed butter, cheddar and sour cream. WOW, the most tender and flavorful I've ever had, the blend of the herbed butter, sour cream and cheddar on the potato was stunning. My wife had the crispy sea bass with garlic truffle mashed potato's. The fish was perfectly cooked. It was nice and crispy, delicious flavor, mild and a little natural saltiness from the skin. The potato's were heavenly, so much flavor and silky smooth. Wine recommendations from our server were perfect. We finished dinner with cheesecake and apricot Scnapps. Highly recommend if you are in the area and a carnivore like me.

We also got truffle fries and grilled veggies. We each added sauces, but I can't remember which ones. Everything was amazing and we washed it down with a Margaux. It was perfection! I know we had dessert but it's escaping me. Anyway. Super amazing. Cannot recommend enough.

Chacarero Steakhouse delivers the kind of meal that makes you stop mid‑bite and say, "Okay... this…read moreis really good." From the moment you walk in, the warm lighting and relaxed atmosphere set the tone for a great night out, and the staff keeps that energy going with attentive, genuinely friendly service. The star of the show is absolutely the steak. Perfectly seasoned, beautifully grilled, and served exactly at the temperature requested; it's the kind of quality you usually only find at high‑end steakhouses. The sides are just as impressive: fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The chimichurri deserves its own shout‑out; it's bright, bold, and elevates everything it touches. Drinks are well‑crafted, portions are generous without being over the top, and the pacing of the meal feels thoughtful rather than rushed. It's the kind of place that works equally well for a date night, a celebration, or just treating yourself to a seriously good dinner. If you're anywhere near Kaiserslautern and craving a great steakhouse experience, Chacarero is absolutely worth the visit. I'd come back in a heartbeat.

The bread and salsa appetizer was a nice touch (simple but fresh), and the Gouda empanadas? Melt-in-your-mouth good. I ordered the beef and loved that they cooked it exactly how I wanted -- juicy, tender, and full of flavor. The staff made the experience even better with thoughtful check-ins that felt friendly, not forced. Dessert sealed the deal: churros with dulce de leche ice cream and a shot of espresso. Sweet, warm, and just the energy boost I needed to end the night on a high note. Highly recommend if you're craving bold flavors and a little comfort. What dish would you go for first -- the empanadas or dessert?
