As soon as our party of six were seated ,the bartender start us up with the drinks - finally I was able to try the Victoria beer - Amber lager (all Mexican beers are actually lagers). For the main course I ordered the Salmon - medium to well done - the chef nailed it. Across from me party of three enjoyed a BBQ beef platter (I was able to try it in tortilla shell). My DW ordered a "tres" tacos dish, she loved it also. The desert was out of this world - both flan and cheese cake, so we requested the pastry chef for a curtain call, telling her how appreciative we all are of her culinary creations. Now I would like to share a few points when it comes to paying your bill in Mexico (It actually worked the same way at CDMX or Puebla). First of all your will be asking the waiter - "terminal por favor". He or she will bring the card reading machine to your desk (you don't want to give your credit card to process it in the back room, aka in the USA) and do the transaction just before your eyes. Second - You will be asked "propina" - tip, here it goes "diez por ciento" - 10% is a customary and reasonable tip in the Mexico. Granted this is for Spanish speaking waiters, but I was having fun anyway - even if I knew that waiter speaks English. I strongly recommend this restaurant, if anybody will be in Puebla or San Pedro Cholula area.

You can order meat by the weight which comes with pan arabe or tortillas, limes and salsa and DIY the tacos. If you're ordering more than three, it makes sense. Puebla is rumored to be the birthplace of mole. Supposedly a group of nuns was unable to exit their convent for a lengthy period, and took to steeping chicken in chocolate and spices, creating the slow-cooked chicken mole recipe. In reality, almost every Mexican grandmother makes their mole differently, with no standardized recipe. In what turned out to be a silly decision, we rented a Hertz and drove to Puebla from Mexico City. There's a modern tollway for the majority of the way, but surface traffic slows to a nightmarish crawl in Mexico City and in Puebla itself. The Hertz rental desk person gave us an unintentionally funny instruction on what to do in a possible shakedown by police on the way (each rental car is clearly marked as a rental in Mexico). Restauro (which means "restore" in Spanish) references both the restoration of the historic building for the restaurant, and the restorative qualities of great food. This place excels in both. The setting is beautiful. It's essentially a very modern space located in a very old stone building. Mood lighting and dramatic design effects are everywhere. They also have some striking modern art in the space. The real star of the show is the food. The aforementioned chicken mole was off-the-charts fantastic. Those nuns of days gone by would be very proud tasting it. There are some interesting twists on traditional Mexican cooking, including a variety of salads and "nouvelle" preparations. Each dish was beautifully presented, and the service was polite and fast. The waitstaff was both very funny and very efficient. If this restaurant was in my city, I would definitely be a regular.
