The decor is very nice and definitely the highlight of the place. Unfortunately, that's about all the restaurant has going for it. If you sit too close to the doors, you'll be dealing with flies, which made the experience uncomfortable. The chairs also weren't very clean and had hair on them, which was disappointing. Overall, the coffee didn't stand out either--I've honestly had better.

Food was good had the avocado toast with salmon. Veggies were alright. I ordered the mazapán coffee but was nothing like the photo nor had any mazapán flavor. Disappointed. atmosphere good. Crowded for a small location. if you don't reserve wait times are long as expected. Customer service is very attentive

The place itself was really nice -- the decor and vibe were on point and made it a comfortable spot to hang out. But the drinks and pastries didn't match the atmosphere. I ordered a cappuccino with a chocolate concha and both were pretty mediocre. The coffee tasted like something I could've made at home with a pod, and the concha wasn't anything special -- I've had better ones from H-E-B. My girlfriend's chai latte was also bland with barely any flavor. Great vibe, but the drinks and pastries definitely need improvement.

    Beautiful but very DRY pastry's.

I've gone a total of 3 times. The first time was amazing, food is good, place is beautifully decorated, service was good. After that, the busier they got the WORSE the service, food, and seating was. My last visit I saw a family had to be squished at a small table near the bathrooms. First visit? Great. Second and third? Horrible, the chilaquiles taste good but everytime I go the food portions keep getting smaller and smaller. The pancakes are dry. The busier they get the LAZIER they get. The beautiful pastries in their glass display look amazing but are soo DRY. The filling is sweet and good but the pastry overall is dryer than the valley. Their service isn't as good and their food presentation and food portions also decline and become smaller. They seem to be more worried about accommodating than serving. I didn't even bother taking pictures of food like everyone does after my first visit. Very disappointing to see such a nice place with potential go down this route.

Came for oatmeal n a cappuccino but no oatmeal, so i got French toast. Waiter asked if i wanted eggs scrambled (i thought oh they come with eggs). I said yes. No eggs just the French toast n it was just dry bread with butter ,cinnamon n powdered sugar. Very dry , it was even hard to cut. Cappuccino was overly sweet , couldn't drink even half. My experience, food is not all it is bragged to be. Service is amazing n quick, ambience is cute.

I was in McAllen for a day or two when I spent some time on South Padre Island. Enter Sweet Paris Creperie and Cafe. It's in what seems to be the area's biggest shopping mall and on the side closest to the 2 Expressway and its frontage road, and very close to the airport. I went in one evening and the mall was hopping. You will immediately see this understated store and restaurant ... a French creperie. (I don't remember where to put the circonflexe, accent grave, and accent aigu from 3 years of Catholic high school French, nor am I going to look for them on the keyboard.) So, while a little different from the other chain goings-on in this area, Sweet Paris is tastefully decked out. Crepes tend to be slightly expensive in general. It's all about marketing ... I'm going to sell you something "French" and charge a little more for it. However, I was very hungry. I would be ordering 2 crepes - a dinner crepe with chicken and a dessert crepe with Nutella. Both of the crepes were very good. They offer quite a few options on their menu. From the photos, I saw that they have these "nifty" coffees with a foam design shaped like the Eiffel Tower, but I would not be partaking later in the evening. The service was good. Most people in the Rio Grande Valley tend to be more polite than in most American places I've lived or visited. The interior is very clean and inviting and you should definitely eat in. The mall is so popular, which is a good thing these days, that I had to go out toward the edge of the parking lot to get a space. There was also one of those "blue lights" (not as in a "blue light special") positioned in the parking lot ... and I don't see those too often. Like everything else in this area, things and places are spacious and spread out. But let me get back to Sweet Paris Creperie and Cafe. The crepes here were the real deal. Again, they were indeed good. I also like that, in this smaller urban area, they offer a unique concept like this, hence I'm going with 4 stars for this restaurant.
