We dropped off our rental at the airport and hopped on the bus that took you into the city. We got off at the San Sebastian stop and walked with our suitcases a few blocks up to the hotel. I also liked that it was walking distance from many of the sights we wanted to check out. We were able to walk to a Flamenco show, the Real Alcazar and the Cathedral. We also took some scooters to Plaza España. The hotel itself was more so a blocks of rooms in a neighborhood square connected with a labyrinth of courtyards and gardens. The rooftop was really neat, too. There are different levels where you can lay out in the sun near people or more privately. There is a pool that looked neat but we didn't have enough time to get in before our show. The hotel itself is clearly very old (by American standards at least) but well preserved and beautiful. The hotel piano bar in the second floor is a must see, too. Don't miss it! The rooms were surprisingly modern. The bathroom was very spacious. The bed was a little firmer than I would have liked but it wasn't a deal breaker by any means. I would definitely stay at this hotel again!

I was grateful for the valet parking, not so much by the €25 a day charge. The building itself seems to be a collection of buildings spread around a number of internal and external courtyards. Our room was accessible via a long and twisty underground tunnel that stretched for at least 300m passing the spa, various bric a brac bits and pieces, statues, fountains, peculiar display areas that may, or may not, have been shops or small boutiques. I've no idea. It's almost impossible to describe how bizarre and yet how charming it all was. After a while, though, I have to confess it became a bit of a schlepp. Our room was small but the bed was extremely comfortable with a queen size bed and a decent sized, well provisioned, en-suite bathroom. A piano bar on the first floor was both elegant and comfortable and we repaired there each evening after dinner in one of the fabulous restaurants within walking distance. The hotel also opened out onto a small plaza with plenty of outdoor bar and coffee options throughout the day and into the night. A couple of minutes away was the Cathedral and Alcazar as were numerous shops, bars, restaurants and ice cream parlours (a must). I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel for a stay in Seville but leave the car at home,

The rooftop has a nice view of the bell tower. It was quite noisy with the church bells ringing every 10 or 15 minutes at times, especially in the night, but if you can sleep through that, it's a great location. The cost was also quite reasonable (just over $100 per night). We stayed for 4 nights and got a deal through Capital One Travel for a discount.

Ana (see photo) who greeted us and checked us in was a rock star - kind, informative, enthusiastic about Seville, and set the tone for a perfect, albeit too short, stay. Danny (see photo) was also fantastic -- also welcoming, obviously loves his job, and added to our great experience. There was also a lovely fellow that took the luggage to the room and unfortunately, I don't recall his name. I want to make sure I recognize him for also being excellent in terms of service and being a warm, welcoming fellow. The Jr suite was fantastic. Wonderful in every way. Stocked mini bar. Great coffee. Comfortable bed. Nice lounging area with big television. The shower had a bathtub with lots of hot water and was just really laid out very well. The terrace was a nice addition as well, although it was very hot so we did not spend much time there. Elevators were quick and the room was extremely clean and good value! This is a first class hotel and should definitely be on your need to stay here list when you get to Seville. Thanks to the great staff for taking good care of us!

What truly made our stay special was the staff. Everyone was incredibly warm, welcoming, and helpful, always happy to offer recommendations or assist with anything we needed. We even walked from the renfe train station since we did excursions to Granada and Cordoba from Seville (this is a longer 15-20 minute walk). We didn't take the buses although they were very accessible as well as taxis. Staff was friendly. The hotel was a bit dated (especially the comforters) but that added to the old charm of the city of Seville. It was VERY clean which is what's important. Also, it seems like the heat in the rooms is not controllable. When we asked the front desk, they just suggested to open the window a little bit so the heater would shut off? My room facing the front of the building was not very quiet. We were close to the elevators and could hear everyone walking by our room. Our friend had a room on the other side and said it was very quiet. The plus was the terrace on the 4th floor, wow! a nice free place to relax and do some people watching. There's a lot of restaurant and shops nearby and I loved the vendors in the plaza right across from the hotel (not sure if it was just for the holidays). The breakfast was good and at a reasonable price. The coffee and croissants were delish! totally recommended!

You can get anywhere in the city center by walking around 10-20 minutes. Reception was friendly, and checkin was simple as they had already assigned us rooms for our arrival. We received a twin bed as requested, and the room was large for Europe. The shower had decent water pressure, but the temperature slightly fluctuated (with sink faucet / toilet running). Sound isolation from the exterior of the hotel is excellent, with two sets of windows, and a metal grate in between. However, the room is stuffy if the windows are closed. When we tried turning on the thermostat, only hot air came out (in Feb) ... so we ended up opening the windows at night and dealing with the noise. Sound isolation from the interior of the hotel is very poor. Walls are extremely thin and I could hear a loud family next door when they returned from dinner and had their faucets running. So my recommendation -- stay here if you can tolerate the noise ... or ask for a really quiet room (best if you have no neighbors next door).

The hotel is centrally located. Restaurants. EL Cortez mall and Aldi grocery was nearby. The room was cleaned daily except our coffee cup sat uncleaned for 3 days. Check out the clerk was helpful and willing to hold bags but gave us a little longer to check out.

This hostel blew me away! It was right next to the encarnacion plaza, so it was breathtaking views…read moredaily! It was great to come into a room with all facilities working properly, a decent laundry program and as well as clean bathrooms! The beds were comfortable and it was great to have a comforter with the sheets as hostel rooms usually get cold with the amount of air conditioning they leave on. However, I did notice that it does get slightly noisy at nighttime as the rooftop bar closes around midnight daily and there are also a couple bars right under the hostel. I'd suggest getting a room that is not facing the plaza and away from the streets. The staff is also the best I've seen so far. I decided to stay a couple extra nights and they accommodated me with ease when I requested to not get my room changed and as well as keep the bottom bunk. The free breakfast was also fantastic when compared to other hostels that I've been to. Being lactose-intolerant, the hostel even provided soy milk and other products for those with dietary restrictions, simply unheard of!

We had visited the hostel earlier in the day just to make sure we knew where it was, and ask questions regarding our point of meetup. When the time came, we went to the rooftop of the hostel as instructed and waited. And waited.... and waited. 30 minutes later, we start actively looking for someone to help us. The rooftop was riddled with people (primarily teens) smoking up. When we finally met our bar hop guide, he told us that no one else had registered for the event so it was cancelled. On two separate mornings, we were not properly attended to at breakfast. Despite breakfast being included with our room, the service was so disappointing that we ultimately chose to leave the hotel and have breakfast elsewhere. Our arrival experience was also disappointing. During check-in, we felt there was an excessive focus on upselling us throughout the registration process. Once we declined the room upgrade, the warmth and attentiveness seemed to disappear, which made us feel less valued as guests. For a luxury five-star property, I expected a much higher level of hospitality, especially when it comes to making guests feel welcomed and cared for. The room was wonderful, but unfortunately, the overall service experience fell well below our expectations.
