Not sure what's going on here but I've noticed that the portions are noticeably smaller and meat (if you get it) is hardly there. Everything is covered in a pile of lettuce?? Prices are still the same though. Drinks are worth the trip but that's about it. read more

Cinco de Mayo yesterday was busy in the bar but the service was good and the food came out quickly. The drinks were kind of a letdown though. Worst Mexican food I have ever had. I think it's a normal practice for certain places like this to over charge. I bought a $15 burrito, comes with chips and salsa. I asked for a pint of tomatillo salsa also. My husband went to pick it up and the total was $45! Ridicules. Normally I would defend my "extras" but what??? Went to Casa Tequila for lunch. The lunch specials are somewhat reasonably priced (around $12) however when I got the bill, a regular iced tea was $4.25. For a tea! Talk about price gouging! Looked from the outside authentic. We went in and was immediately hit with the smell of "cleaning ammonia " or something. Booths were cozy however not very clean table needed another wipe. Server was very friendly however not helpful. Maybe if I were drinking margaritas I would not have noticed how terribly chewy the beef fajitas were or that the refried bean plate with shredded lettuce and a slice of tomato was not someone's leftover mess. Just disgusting. This was one of those situations where I wasn't getting a data signal, so couldn't check Yelp for reviews (but I really wanted nachos). The moment we stepped out of the car, a strong fecal smell hit us, which I assumed (hoped) was from one of the many nearby businesses or sewer mains. The fact that we kept getting whiffs of it inside could have been from people coming in the door (like the smoke from the gaggle of people smoking in the alcove entryway), or it could have been coming from within the restaurant. We got the bean nachos and the bean burritos (as, after sitting/smelling, we decided any meat would have been too high-risk to attempt). The nachos were a few chips (15-20?), with a few spoonfuls of bland re-fried beans (the Cisco truck was parked right out front, and this must have been bottom-tier) under a few globs of low end, flavorless cheese. It even looked to have been cooked in a microwave - I say this because there was no trace of brown on cheese or chip, and everything had a soggy feel. Price was unexpectedly low: quality was why. The burritos were an even bigger disappointment, as they were $9.50 for two. Two thin tubes of bland bean paste, a drizzle of flavorless cheese and a smear of sauce. No vegetables or interesting spice, no sour cream, no pico de gallo, or anything else to recommend it. Put it this way; I could have made this with $1.50 worth of Trader Joe's ingredients, with under 3 minutes of effort, and gotten a much better outcome. The free chips and salsa were welcome, and managed to be about average. They were the best part of the meal, by far. Even though we didn't eat much (plates were small), we left feeling gross and unhealthy. Contrast this with a place like Loco Cocos Tacos, and the comparison is laughable. I did not give a 1 star as I typically reserve that for a place that grossly offends, and not just for serving disappointing food. The attached photo, of the only toilet in the men's room, with no seat attached, pretty much sums up the experience. I was visiting New Hampshire a couple of weeks ago and since it was almost dinnertime just when I was about to head back to Boston I figured I'd stop in here and grab something. It is a pretty cool place to try if you enjoy Mexican food. The hostess who brought me to my table seemed pretty friendly. I wasn't in the mood for much but I knew I wasn't going to feel like making dinner upon my return home so I sat down here and ordered a plate of nachos. They have a good assortment of Mexican dishes. Burritos, chicken, rice and even some of your fancier Mexican dishes. The decor in here was very nice and the music was at an acceptable level. Mexican music of course and it was nice to hear something different for a change. The servers here were nice and fairly attentive at first and for the majority of my time there but at the end of the meal it did take kind of a long while to get my check so I could pay and get home. They were friendly though, accommodated me on an alteration that I wanted to make to my nachos and served the nachos in a timely fashion. And some very delicious nachos they were! read more

Food was absolutely terrible. The salsa and chips were brought to the table first. Salsa tasted canned or jarred. Chips were heavy and very salty. Ordered chicken enchiladas with verde sauce with rice and refried beans as sides. When the entree came, the enchiladas were covered with chopped iceberg lettuce and sour cream. Hardly any verde sauce underneath this canopy of salad. The presentation was awful. Enchiladas were lousy. The tortillas were hard and tasted like lead. The rice was extremely dry and must have been made several weeks ago. The kitchen, obviously, doesn't make anything fresh, it seems. They just plate prepared food and send it out. I grew up in KC, which has a vibrant Mexican community and food scene. I n addition I've spent a ton of time working in Texas and the Southwest. I moved to New England and have lamented the passing of my Mexican food go-it's do to the lack of suitable players (Don't even get me started about BBQ up here). This place has given me hope again! It's not Tex-Mex or Cali-Mex, it's legit Mexican, which some people in this part of the country can comprehend as easily as saying their R's. Just a great authentic place and I will be back often. Ok, so I'm hispanic and very familiar with the difference between Mexican food and Gringo-friendly Tex-Mex and this place is no doubt the REAL deal! The chips and salsa are as good as everyone in the reviews say. I had the chile relleno which comes with rice & beans and loved it. My husband, the gringo, got a fantastic Margarita (ok, he got 2 and I drove ). If you ask they make the margaritas with agave and lime/ lemon and no sour mix. He also got the Molcajete. If you're hungry that's an incredibly flavorful dish and a very substantial portion. Service was fantastic. We will be back! read more

By far the best Mexican for miles around! Worth the trip from anywhere on the seacoast. Don't let the run-down outside fool you. The food is top notch. Fresh. And the whole crew here is all smiles! Everything I've ever had is good, but the queso... yes. Guacamole? Yup! Steak tacos. Amazing. And my all-time favorite is the Chori Pollo: chorizo sausage all ground up on top of grilled chicken, with cheese, served with tortillas... to die for!! Oh and the tequila selection? The margaritas? i'm not sure that my waiter understood my request. I ordered the combination number 26. I couldn't clarify whether the refried beans were cooked with pork. I wanted beans I wanted beans I wanted a bean burrito. I wanted a cheese enChilada. I wanted a Chile Relleno. I got two tortillas filled with pas cooked zucchini, and yellow squash. They were basically raw and squeaky. I thought this place was going to be like lacaretta. I also had a virgin piña colada, which was luscious people come here to drink. I think the chili Relleno was adequate. It was what it was. I certainly was skeptical about finding good Mexican food in seabrook New Hampshire especially with the horrible signs posted about our president all over the place. Very unfriendly hostile neighborhood. Make sure that the waiter can speak English. place looks nice. Waitress definitely wasn't listening when she took our order. My brother asked for shredded beef quesadilla and he got a shredded chicken. He got her attention and she took out her notepad & tried to correct us. Waitress didn't speak enough english to know what a hard shell taco was as opposed to a soft. If you loooove cilantro, come here and order anything. There's a pound of cilantro in everything brought to your table.... which stinks if you don't like cilantro (me). girlfriend got zero buzz off of a margarita made with quality, more expensive tequila. What is there to say other than this is the best Mexican food I have ever had. My wife and I declared earlier in the evening that she wanted real tacos and not soggy ones like Taco Bell. I agreed wholeheartedly and so began my search on Yelp. We had gone to Margaritas in Exeter a bunch of times and our bathroom suffered the repercussions of that decision. We realized we needed something real. We had driven by this place countless times while driving through Seabrook, but after reading the reviews we wanted to give it a try. Upon entering, we saw what appeared to be a mariachi band setting up at the entrance. We were quickly seated and ordered. My wife got one of the house combinations (taco, enchilada, and tostada) and I got one of the specialties of the house, burrito verde. We were given chips and homemade salsa to hold us over till the food came out....the food was amazing!!! As our food came out the mariachi singer belted out one of the longest, loudest, notes and the band kicked into gear. It was weird but it was like we were transported to Mexico. The food was fresh and flavorful, the atmosphere felt authentic and genuine. It was an amazing experience that we were not expecting. I can't wait to go back with friends and family so they can experience the same thing. P.S. - We also had dessert which was also phenomenal (see pic). Stopped in for a quick bite and a couple beers. Ordered a bean burrito, cheese quesadilla and some fries... That never came. Got some free salsa and chips and ordered queso that came out quickly, but was essentially cold. Couldn't ask for it to be heated though, because of our waiter consistently ghosting us. Got my second beer about 40 minutes in. Second beer finished, we waited about 30 more minutes for food. After an hour of clearly being disregarded, we told the waiter we were no longer interested in waiting for the food and would like the check. Waiter said it's just about to come out, and we said no thank you, we were full after eating chips for an hour. Waiter left to get the check. Waited about another 15 minutes for the waiter to come back with no check, and tells us our food has been waiting and asks again if we're sure (because food that's been sitting out is more appealing, right?). We assure him we're all set and he proceeds to take the $100 bill we had set out on the table without showing us a receipt. Wait another 10-15 minutes for the waiter to come back with change. The waiter obviously didn't care about us, never checked in with us and clearly did not give a flying fuck about customer service. We've been going here since it opened 4 or 5 years ago? It has been our favorite Mexican restaurant. A few months ago a bartender told us he was leaving to go to another place up the coast. It is too far to go for us. Maybe he took a lot of the staff with him. Since then this place has unfamiliar people even though they are nice. The service is too slow and the food is not as good. I'd rather go up the street to LaCaretta in Derry or maybe make the trek to Los Contaros in North Hampton. read more
