And at first blush, the spa in Spa seems that way: it's at the top of a very high hill accessible only by a (EUR1) glass lift cable car thing. It's located in the SAS Radisson hotel. BUT. An entire day in the Spa costs around EUR27 - to use any of the pools and saunas you want. There is also an hourly rate, and you can pay for extras such as a peat bath, different types of massage or hydro treatment. You can walk away with change from a EUR50 note, or you can blow EUR500. Nobody will ever know, as you pad around in your swimming cossie, whether you're a millionnairess or simply a tired out Eurocrat in need of some pampering. Go with the girls, and savour the day.

I visit different spas on a regular basis and based on the website, I thought this would be nicer. Also, if you do not speak fluent French, they do not want to assist you. Tried using the translation app to show them, but they were not interested.

First of all the place is not that expensive, second of all it's not old fashioned at all, but really nice modern architecture where the modern building matches perfectly with the green surroundings. The swimming pool has a part outside as well as inside and for the sauna part there are several ones with several tempatures (to choose for yourself what matches you best). On top of that there's a Turkish steam bath, all in very nice design! To make the experience complete, the village of Bad Bertrich is very nice too, with the way it's situated inbetween the rocks and the forests with the result that you won't easily feel wind in the outdoor swimming pool neither. I really love the place and i want to go back there from time to time to relax in the weekend!

And some observations as follows, - I'm not sure why this place has three €s. I think our group paid 5€ for a evening's worth of swimming. That's, pretty cheap for two slides, indoor/outdoor, dives and a hot pool. - Also they had a whole little bar. That's adorable, and I love places where you can swim and drink. That's a winning combination. - Pretty clean. I only saw one band-aid, and it wasn't floating in the pool. - Why don't they make water-slides for hot tubs? - The staff were friendly and helpful with our questions and general lack of German language skills. - Clean bathrooms. Clean changing rooms, and large blow-dryers in case you didn't bring a towel. - Pretty simple. Pay, swim, leave. - A place to camp and lay out in a well-kept grassy knoll. People had brought coolers, and there was a place for Frisbee and outdoor sports. Overall great. I'm certain I will be coming back.

First the bad info: * There was no real explanation on how everything works. Nothing online & nothing written that we could see. No one took any time to explain any rules or regulations to us either. * By the end of our reservations (2:00-6:00pm), the main pool had become very crowded. They oversold it like many other places. * The other facilities outside of the main pool area were undersized for the crowd size. If you made a mistake & walked into other areas, the bracelet they gave you pick up your signal & charged you an extra fee. Now, the good stuff: * Great changing room facilities. Loads of room where you have your own dedicated locker operated by said bracelet. Great family areas as well. * Cleanliness was solid. Constant cleaning from the on-site crew * Small but decent bar area inside the pool section & man do they charge for drinks. Not sure if I'd do this again. I felt deceived by their strategy & the facility was very pricy. If you choose to go here, be careful of extra charges. It seems they prey on your lack of knowledge. No pics allowed.
