Very disappointing. The woman wait-person had a pretty brusque attitude, not very helpful, seemed irritated that she had to serve people. The food, with the exception of my garlicky mussels appetizer, was terrible. It's exceptionally noisy, too. I'll pass. read more

Casey key Fish House is a kind of out of the way funky place with a nice water view and great sea food I loved my rum runner drink, conch fritters,and grouper fish dinner.They have a nice tiki bar that is away from the restaurant with another nice water view. read more

We had lunch here again yesterday for probably the 10th time in the last two years. The service was excellent as usual and the Snapper special in the Butter, Caper and Artichoke sauce was outstanding... for $11.99, how can you beat it? My wife had a grouper sandwich. We each had a beer and an Iced Tea and the bill was around $34.50. Very fair prices! The Tiki bar, on the east side of the property, has gotten much better as service used to be a bit slow. They recently added a new young lady to the bartending staff and that has certainly improved the wait time! We come here by boat often and it is just a great local hang out! Great fried clams! Not the usual pre-frozen, grocery store fare, but actual fried actual clams. The fish dishes and all vegetables were excellent -- perfectly prepared! For sides, though, they only offer mashed potatoes or fries, which is pretty lame. Service was just OK. read more

One of the best seafood places in the Venice / Nakomis area. Located on the intercoastal, this seafood restaurant offers waterfront views and a "marina atmosphere." The menu selection include the typical appetizers, such as fried calimari and sautéed mussels, which were freshly prepared and very tasty . The fish dishes go beyond the typical and include an excellent artichoke, caper covered baked yellow tail tuna , which is excellent . Their almond encrusted fish is also a real standout. It's a bit tough to get to this place, as you 'll need to drive over a one-way bridge, but once you get there , you 'll enjoy the good food, great views and eclectic crowd, which can include families, bikers, seniors and who knows who. While there, check out their outdoor bar, which seems like a fun place to enjoy one of their frozen drinks...the key lime margarita is a standout! read more

This place is another Florida 5-star Hole in the Wall!! It was our first visit and turned out to be spot on. We only got to experience the restaurant, but I can't wait to go back here on out boat and do the tiki bar as well. I had the Grouper Sandwich and Yumm!! Plus, it was huge and was more than enough. Around our table we also had the Swordfish with capers and artichokes, and it was awesome! My wife takes her Tuna seriously, and thinks cooking it is pure torture. Her's came as ordered...well-rare, with a pile of asian noodles, slaw, and wasabi. The bartender is on his game with great cocktails, and they even had Cigar City Jai Alai on tap. This is the quintisential on the water restaurant. The atmosphere is perfect. I love the food. Lunch can be a simple beer and basket of clams, and dinner can be their awesome boulliabase. Casey Key Fish House has a lot going for it. The location is great, right on the water with boats at the dock and birds overhead. The food is generally good. Their snapper special is usually a good choice and their clam strips are pretty good. Their burger is also decent. The worst thing about this place is their unwillingness to substitute sides if you don't like what they're offering. Case in point: green beans with the snapper. I told them to hold the rice and bread and asked them if I could have something other than green beans. No no and no. Their green beans are terrible and I don't like them anyway. Their unwillingness to make their customers happy reflects very poorly on them. read more

We ate here approximately 2 weeks ago. This place has a serious issue with cleanliness. I would not recommend eating here unless you have had all Hepatitis immunizations. The server was rude, he did not like that I asked him why they would pour drawn butter over the fish that was topped on my salad...who pours drawn butter over fish on a bed of lettuce and serve a side of dressing. It was truly disgusting. Wait station was openly visible..again disgusting.
