Our food was great be warned it will be flaming hot when you get it. It's a cozy place. The chairs are super hard to push back if your outside and on the tall tables cause you can't reach the floor and your on rock. My last fish smelled bad and was a little chewy and too flakey. Came from Indy to hit up a dispensary and visited this place afterward! We sat outside in the back and it was super nice. We didn't sit near the bar area which housed TVs for games. For starters we got the spinach artichoke dip with chips and it was so, so good! I forgot to take pics of our main meal but, I got the siracha chicken sandwich with fries and it was delicious; and my boyfriend got the Casey's mac & cheese with chicken and he seemed to enjoy it a lot, as did I with the bite I took! read more

Went here for lunch today with my son and was pretty underwhelmed. My burger was undercooked and my fries were not just cold but tasted old, if you can imagine such a thing, and half the beers on the tap list were out. I get places have off days but as an eatery with a focus on drinking and a fairly high price point they could have done a lot better. There's a lot of great food in New Buffalo, if I were you I'd try somewhere else. read more

Never a disappointment, eat in, take out, it's all good! Much more of a preferred spot than the "kennel" as some people call it, across the street. As a Chicagoan (not suburbanite) coming to New Buffalo my entire life the only place I like more than Casey's is Red Arrow Roadhouse for lunch/dinner. Menu should actually reflect what's available, two items I ordered were recently removed. Freezing cold. So loud and noisy could not have any sort of conversation with my husband on our date night!! What an unexpected treat! Walked over here on a whim for dinner and on the servers suggestion, ordered the perch dinner. Although the fillets didn't look like much to write home about, they turned out to be awesome. Buttery, lemony and tender without a pinny bone in sight. Came with garlicky broccoli that was done just right and mashed potatoes that were better than dessert. Highly recommend. So glad I took a chance. Also the backyard patio is delight. Family of 17 had a trip planned for several months. Called Casey's on several occasions to see about a reservation. Though they don't accept reservations online, the manager on the phone said they would make sure it works. Called again to confirm 3 weeks before our trip. Arrive on day of, manager in store (different person) said they would never allow this and offered zero opportunity to make it work. As though we showed up in matching t shirts and completely made up that we were told we'd be good. And yet, as you can see in the attached photo, the restaurant was completely empty. If you have a big group, try the Stray Dog or somewhere else - Casey's is not interested in serving you. Horrible, horrible customer service. I don't know why Casey's doesn't have a perfect 5 star. Every time we're in new Buffalo we go here because it's so good. The menu has a lot to offer, ambience is very laid back, staff is friendly and food is amazing. We went with a large party of 7 during our last visit and we all loved our meals (including the perch, Mahi mahi, club sandwich, Cesar salad, tuna bowl and steak sandwich). They also have an outdoor seating area in the back with a really cool bar. Don't pass up this spot if in the area. read more

Super disappointed with Casey's. They have a new menu since the last time I've been there and it was very small and not great. My dinner with my mom cost $60. We each got an entrée and a beer- summer Shandy. I had a bowl which was not fabulous and my mom had their pasta dish. Not worth the money at all. While the food was ok, the service was terrible. My party a f I were shuttled to a side room where we were party to a family celebration covering f two large tables. One held8 adults and the other 10 children. The folks at the other table were so rude they said "I hope you like loud people" then everyone laughed. I asked for the manager and who arrived was someone who wax about 18 years old. I would expect the manage to go ask the other parties to calm their kids. That wasn't in the cards. I came here with high expectations only to be let down like a bag of hammers. 90% of the women were dropping the "F" bomb more than B-29s on Tokyo during WW-II. The bar hasn't been cleaned in about a year. The bartender was very personable, but suffered from ADD and the female server was petulant as a Jr High school girl. Went here in the past and had something good, so returned. Bad. Service was good but noticed place smelled like mildew. Probably the mop water, but can't stand that smell. Then, there were the entrees. Bland is the word if you get off the pub fare that is burgers and fries. Noodles were soggy and shredded. Rice dish was pretty much without taste. Neighbors had fish and chips, probably better, but we did not want to eat fried. Had shishitos. Most places just grill. Casey's powders and fries them. Not so good. Served with some tasteless brown juice and a better-tasting cream dip. One good point is the beer menu. I'd wait until the patio opens and just go for a beer. read more

We came here with a group of 20. We are very flexible so thought we would be split up, but we got the best outdoor seating spot with all of us around each other. What a great outdoor space! Not only that but the waitress was absolutely amazing. She handled all of us like a champ, and was very patient and got everyone exactly what they needed. The food was so great! Everything came out as ordered but some sauces here and there - no big deal because she got them quickly. Everyone was happy with their plate and everything got eaten. Their drinks were delicious! I couldn't stop getting the margaritas. This definitely became a new favorite spot for us while visiting Lake Michigan. read more

We stopped here for lunch before heading back to Chicago and were pretty happy with everything at Casey's. We arrived at noon just as they unlocked the doors. We were first in but they slowly filled up until it was almost full. From what we could see there was just 1 waitress for the entire restaurant and she provided great service. There was one bartender (who looked like the waitress's mom!) who seemed to keep up with the drink orders. We had the Casey's Burger. You get two small patties for the burger and I actually prefer two small ones to one gigantic hunk of beef. Fries were nice and crisp and not greasy. I don't think they salt them either which I prefer because I am not a big salt fan. We got our drinks and food quickly and the bill came after we requested it. Considering just the one waitress, everything ran pretty smoothly. We'd definitely consider Casey's again when we are out this way. read more

Excellent perch, the fries were ample and delicious. Loved my steak sandwich but the star of the show might be their coleslaw which includes raisins and pineapple. My best friend and I were in town, we stopped by here for a quick dinner. We each got a rose berry mule (amazing!) and some appetizers to share. Due to covid we sat outside in heated tents. It was amazing! All of our food was awesome. We got boom boom shrimp, truffle fries, and a plate of chicken nachos. It was more than enough for the two of us, but we ended up eating it all since it was so good. We had amazing service from Christine as well. Summer 2019 I don't know why I continue to go to Caseys. It is the same dinning experience every time; mediocre to bad food, hungover waitstaff, and a dining experience that is always 90-120min to long. For example on a recent Saturday we popped in for a quick bite to eat. We where seated on the patio by the hostess still wearing her PJ's and slippers from the night before. On server was genuinely not interested in waiting on us. She sipped coffee at the bar and moved as if a ball and chain were strapped to her leg. When we did get to order our drinks we got a close of view of the damage from the night before. The bloodshot eyes, the slight flinch of pain that comes with a hangover headache. Next came the fun game of guessing what on the menu was actually available. The game goes like this; we order an item, our server attached to the ball and chain makes her way inside. Disappears for 15-20min, re-emerges to inform us "kitchen says we are out of it" We played three rounds of the menu guessing game before we settled on some type of nacho dish. It was essentially some type of cheese melted over chips via a microwave. And it was the slowest microwave ever invented, agin taking 20-30min. So, an hour or so into our quick dinning experience, our drinks now empty, our worlds slowest microwave meal, and our comically slow waitress, we ask for the check. I plan to pay by credit card. 20-30min later, drinks completely dry, microwave nachos hardly consumed, and my check still wasn't picked up. I gave up; paid in cash, and walked out. read more

I've been a mild fan of Casey's Backyard over the years, but It seems like the ownership has given up. We were there for an embarassing meal on Sunday, with long waits for cold food /no food from an un-interested staff while the restaurant was half empty. I would have spoken to a manager, but there were none to be found. And it didn't appear that anyone else gave a whiff, they were just trying not to make eye contact and get through their shift. We used to go to Casey's weekly. Then there was a shift of staff and ect and stopped going. So we decided to go last evening with friends and give it a try once again. We sat in the far rear inside away from the bar. Dinner was okay, not the same quality of years past. But the kicker was young males at the bar. They not only were screaming to the point we couldn't talk among ourselves. They also chased away a couple trying to eat their dinner in the bar area. Then these rude patrons decided Casey's was a gym and began doing push ups in the middle of floor while the screaming continued. Not one person working at Casey's said a word to these obnoxious people. Won't be back every again an absolute terrible evening. read more

Every burger orderd medium, every burger came WELL. So based on my last review I see this is their 'thing.' So a long time place cant cook a burger to anywhere near temp requested ever?
