Employee asked for our name, then to spell our last name and then to spell our first name. They're all pretty basic, but we weren't bothered by this. Beyond this necessary communication the employee said zilch to us. The woman was absolutely miserable. Once our prescription came through the window there was no "thank you," or "have a nice weekend." This was a huge departure from the super nice and engaging pharmacy manager who works here. Yikes. If anyone from Walgreens is reading this and you can figure out who was working the Edgewood Rd. drive-thru window on Saturday, 06/12/21 at 2pm, please encourage some additional customer service training. I knew it wasn't-he refused to try and run it again. I needed the RXs so paid cash for them. I spent part of the next day at the bank and dealing with them about my "bad" check -which my bank said was fine. I filled out the review they requested on my experience shopping there and got an email to my PERSONAL account from the pharmacist reiterating that the check was bad! So I just got my bank statement and guess what went through? Yeah. The check was NOT bad and cleared my bank just fine-just like I knew it should have PLUS I had paid cash for the same RXs--so CVS got paid twice for my RXs AND embarrassed me in front of others that I write bad checks! Wow! Glad this isn't my regular pharmacy! Not shopping in there ever again-for anything! What a scam-telling me the check was bad, yet it cleared the bank and then requiring me to pay again to get my RXs!

Last week, I received a call telling me that my prescription was ready for pickup (after specifically requesting their prompted refill days before). When I arrived, they told me they were still waiting for my doctor's approval (despite the doctor sending me confirmation it was sent), and they proceeded to misgender me twice through the intersection. Keep in mind I was at the counter with long hair, makeup, a purse, and a dress! When one person at the counter looked to the other for help they said something about "his" prescription, to which I said "I'm not a he," and then not 30 seconds later they did it again! So I said louder this time "I'm not a ****ing he!" They came back and said "well YOUR CHART says male, so we weren't trying to offend you," and proceeded to say I needed to call my doctor for approval again despite the CVS system being the one that called me to tell me it was ready. I asked them then and there if they could update my name in the system, or put my name in a "preferred/nickname" field as it had just been legally changed, but they said they couldn't do that. 4 days later, after calling my doctor again and receiving another voicemail from CVS telling me it was ready for pickup, they told me the same thing AGAIN! When I told them I once again received a confirmation call, and showed them the message from my doctor saying it had been refilled, they still refused to acknowledge there might be a problem in their system, and said I had to call my doctor again. Through this second interaction, the clerk almost immediately took an attitude and got very aggressive with me, and said everyone there would lose their job if they gave me my prescription without "confirmation." I walked away and took a minute to calm down after being treated like I was the one inconveniencing them for asking them to give me the prescription THEIR SYSTEM said was ready. I came back and asked for them to look it up under my new name, or a combination of my old last name and new first name, and asked them to make sure it wasn't my insurance that was waiting on approval, and they then found the prescription sent under my old first name and new last name. They proceeded to tell me how this was the fault of me and my doctor, no one there apologized for the inconvenience or the attitude they took with me, or their lack of looking into this any further than saying "call your doctor again." Keep in mind I brought up the change of name the first time, and no one there thought to maybe look into that as a source of the issue. I no longer feel safe or comfortable going to this CVS, and I got a very strong impression that the staff treated me as poorly as they did because they were uncomfortable serving a trans person. I will be looking into transferring my prescriptions elsewhere, and will rarely, if ever, be returning to the Target the pharmacy is located inside of now that it no longer provides the convenience of a reliable pharmacy.
