I can;t fault this place…read more The staff have always been wonderful, whether I've been in there for business or just for me. They have such an extensive range of fabrics, cottons, synthetics, silks. I've come away with so many samples for clients in the past, because they have just so much choice. Rolls, and stands, and so so well organised. Upstairs they have trims, zips, all sorts, you can literally buy everything you need in a one stop shop sort of way, without being limited for options. They are also the sort of wonderful shop, that if they haven't got it (which is rare) they aren't scared to send you elsewhere, with knowledge and directions. Just lovely.

The shop is hiding in Poland Street just off of Oxford St. and saved the delusional Halloween quest…read morethat i throw myself into every year when i decide to make an awesome costume by myself. Usually i'd know where to go and be sorted suite easily, but since i moved from Paris to London i'm always lost when it comes to find good and affordable specialised shops. A quick look on Google and there i am, going to Macculloch & Wallis one day before said Halloween (wouldn't be fun it it weren't last minute). The shop seems quite small but only because it is full of fabric rolls from floor to ceiling. In the middle a staircase leads to the basement where you'll find the haberdashery. It is quite complete and i found everything i needed. Back to the street floor i ask the vendors for advice as i didn't want to lose time going threw everything myself. They were very helpful and sorted me in 10 minutes with every type of fabric i needed. They even took into account that i was making a Halloween costume and referred me affordable pieces of material that matched my desires. All in all, i had everything i needed 20 minutes after i walked in, and i REALLY appreciate efficiency. If you're looking for anything related to sewing and DIY clothing or accessories, this is the place and it is a very good place.

How someone can give this place less than four stars is beyond me. If u don't like the stuff you…read moresee here, it's obvious you went into the store with the wrong premise to begin with. This place is amazing - its Asian kawaii. And it is magical, and a little beyond most adults. But being the forever imbiber of childlike ideas, this place seriously is like I've died and went to heaven. Great selection of stickers, notebooks, and honestly some tasteful and simple schedulers that one can actually get away with using for the working world if you don't mind being teased a little. Is mostly filled with Korean characters as well as some famous ones like moonin and Sanrio. (no San-x I can recall). Plushies, housewares, clothing, posters, and just an all out, no shame, full throttle kawaii explosion. Kawaii is an art form. Don't poop on it if you just don't get it.

Although Artbox was adorable, I wouldn't say it's a close representation to what's available at a…read moreSanrio store in Japan and has a smaller selection than you'd expect. The items also felt slightly dated and tended to lean towards certain characters like cinnamoroll with very little selection of black hello kitty or my melody. I half expected that Artbox would have a similar check out process to Japan, in which you received a small hello kitty bag tag on your bag and was disappointed when there wasn't. All in all, the items I purchased were adorable but the selection is small so if you drop in I'd recommend keeping expectations low.
