Has a min…read moreheight requirement of 42 inches to ride alone and 36 inches to ride with a companion so this makes this a very fun and kid friendly water adventure. Long time staple of Kentucky kingdom. At the old six flags theme park it had a Batman theme and was called the "penguin" I believe after the famed Batman villain. Pretty cool group tube ride that takes you over small waterfall bumps and falling water. Not too many bid drops so you won't necessarily get drenched but you will get wet. Overall I really like this ride. It's a nice combo on a hot day of you want to cool off and don't want to suit up and head to hurricane bay. I'm glad this ride was resurrected for when Kentucky kingdom reopened a few years ago.

Has a little fishing dock and a couple rocks to get closer views. Very scenic and peaceful. My kids were excited to see a turtle and some fish so that was pretty cool. Not nearly as crowded which makes it more family friendly. The waves aren't as large as the and intense as the "big surf" attraction which was the original and the more popular wave pool. However, this is still fun and you do get some nice and fun wave action. Overall cool and relaxing water attraction at Kentucky kingdom. More of just a place to actually swim like a public pool as it has more room and isn't as crowded as other water wave pools at hurricane bay

Deep water Dive is an intense, nerve racking and very fun body slide ride at the hurricane bay…read moreportion of Kentucky Kingdom in Louisville, Kentucky. This massive body slide is one of the worlds largest and is 12 stories tall and features a 377 foot drop with 121 feet of it coming at a 70 degree angle. I've rode this body slide multiple times and each time it doesn't get any less nerve inducing. First off you climb an insane amount of steps. For those who count steps you will get them by riding this ride. At the top you have a platform that offers beautiful views of the city and park. However on some days with a slight wind you will sway back and forth which adds to the thrill and unsettling feeling. The workers put you in a plastic tube casing and you stand up against a backboard with your arms and feet crossed. Below your feet's is a clear see through floor that will momentarily be removed from underneath you. As stated the first half of this slide is practically straight down. So if you fear heights do not look down. The machine has a 3...2...1 countdown but that isn't what triggers the floor being opened. The operators hit a button so there is no timing and bracing yourself for the fall. Some workers have some fun with it and drop you at different parts or pretend it's stuck and then let you fall. They of course still make sure you are in there properly and safe. The drop itself will literally take your breath away. Most of the time by time I can recollect my thoughts or breath I'm on the backstretch at high speeds and water is splashing me in the face. I personally love this ride. The epitome of a thrill ride. As stated Above. If you or your little ones do not do heights or scare easy then this isn't for you. It's no fun climbing the steps and I can imagine it wouldn't be fun climbing back down if you get up there and decide against it (happens a lot). The ride itself does have a min height requirement of 48 inches and max weight of 300lbs. It is a single rider so you are by yourself. The first time I took my kids alone I was stuck with "do I go first and hope they don't chicken out or do I go second and hope they don't freak out at the bottom or wander off". So just some things to consider before riding. Overall 5 star experience for me. Fun, thrilling and my absolute favorite water park attraction in the hurricane bay section. If they got me an elevator lift to the top id be more inclined to ride it back to back to back.

Informative interactive buttons that play recorded messages about the project. An added bonus not many know about is you can take the bridge to an island in the middle of the river that is a regular Eden. Also connected to a footpath/bike path to riverfront park, and a baseball park next door to it. Family fun at it's BEST!

Awesome spot to Get Your Nerd On…read more Most Louisvillians know the city owes its early existence to the river and the 24-foot drop it takes through the falls, which long forced traffic delays along the waterway. But I don't think many have ever bothered to come see the two massive locks now operating that have made river navigation nearly trivial. A couple years ago, a state-of-the-art $430 million waterfront project was completed here, with a public outdoor viewing area, which remains open during daylight hours much of the year. From the platform, you can watch the locks operate (as long as you happen to be here when a barge goes through), all for the low low price of zero dollars plus the possibility of a sunburn. Sure, it's not exactly Thunder Over Louisville, but each of the two 1200-foot locks has room for a 15-barge tow, which is the equivalent of 1050 semi trucks. And McAlpine was designated a Historic Civil Engineering Landmark by the American Society of Civil Engineers. Like I said, Nerd Gold.

Broad run is an amazing and massive park already with tons to do. However this particular playground and Sprayground is by far the most popular attraction in not only the broad run park but I'd say all of the parklands park systems. Very large and creative playground and Sprayground that are a tons of fun. I've taken all my kids here several times over the last 10 plus years and it is always a blast. They have two covered sections with picnic tables for you to pack a lunch and dry off out of the what or other weather elements. They also have indoor restroom facilities on site at the entrance of the spray and play grounds. Overall a really cool and fun place and one of my favorite places to take my kids. Great place for a family to have tons of fun and for free. Just another amazing perk of broad run park and the parklands park system.
