Osteria Locanda Ticinese - Tiramisu, not as fluffy as other tiramisus but rather rich and tasty, but the weavers weren't soaked so it was nice!

So I put my overall rating at 4 instead of 5 stars. /Short version:/ -Food: ---: Appetizers: No Rating - we didn't have any ---: Main Course: ----------: Cold dish: 4/5 Stars - Difficult to judge since I hadn't had anything similar for a long time. ----------: Warm dish: 5/5 Stars - Penne was very basic so i give it a 4, but considering the place it should almost be a 5. Calzone was INCREDIBLE, much better than certain touristic spots (that charge something like 30chf for a substantially smaller and less good Calzone than this one for 18Chf! ---: Desert: 5/5 - Delicious Tiramisu. Rather rich and tasty, but weavers weren't soaked so no problems there. -Service: 5/5 Stars -: Fast and Friendly -Amount of people: Terrasse out back and inside were basically empty around 13:00. -Bathroom: 5/5 Stars -: Clean, up to date, no complaints. ____________________________________________ /Long version:/ Originally wanted to go somewhere a little further down the road (it had a positive yelp review :P) but ended up here. Very friendly service, and 2/3 dishes arrived after 15minutes. The Calzone arrived quite some time later, my two dining partners had already finished their dishes by the time I got it. The Vitello Tonato was good but difficult to judge since I haven't had anything similar for a while. The Penne alla Panna e Prosciutto was good but simple. Another 10minutes or so later I received my Calzone which was HUGE. The size of this thing blew me away, I managed to eat 2/3rds of it before surrendering. But not only size, also quality was good. Apart from the, for my taste, too many mushrooms it was one of the best Calzone I've ever had and it had no problem holding it's own against more expensive pizzas from much more upstanding restaurants. For desert we had some Tiramisu which was richer and tastier than most, but not in a fashion as for it to be too dense or have soaked weavers (weavers were on point). Bathrooms were clean and up to date too. Considering the price and considering what a small restaurant it is, both food and service were superb. Don't let the very basic terasse stop you!

Osteria Locanda Ticinese - HUGE Calzone, waited for a while but GOD IS IT GOOD! If the other Pizza's are as good as this Calzone, this is the place for pizza!

He and his sous chefs Jacob and Michael are true professionals. Lucca was able to adapt to our kitchen without missing a beat. For the cooking class, he taught us how to prepare: fresh pesto, handmade pasta (tagliatelle), branzzino, calamari, bruschetta, mussels and clams, and a beautiful chocolate cake. For the private dinner, he prepared: smoked tuna, octopus salad, seared fish and tiramisu. We also ate at their restaurant which was homely and very local. The menu is not in English, a good sign! Highly recommend eating at their restaurant at the very least!

It wasn't very busy and everyone there was Italian. The waitress didn't speak English and there was no English menu. Our meal was delightful. My husband and I each had a pasta dish. Both were delicious, simple, homestyle italian cooking with very fresh ingredients. It was the perfect first lunch on our vacation. The atmosphere is so relaxing. There is an outdoor terrace with a partial view on the lake and no one else is around because it is not located in a touristy area. Prices were excellent. I wish we could have eaten there again before we left. I definitely recommend it for those who are looking for great authentic casual Italian food. Yum!!
