Best tobacco shop in all of Florence. Its the only one in town that sells only fine Italian briars and cigars - no stamps, bus tickets, etc. Giovanni always has a great selection of Castello pipes! And he is extremely knowledgeable and personable. This is the only place where I will buy my Italian pipes from. read more

I loved this place! It's a small little shop but he had exactly what i was looking for, spoke English, and his pricing was good too. Later in the week I went to a larger fancier shop in Rome and i found I liked this place much better. The owner was so friendly and helpful and we just had good conversation. The place in Rome was pretty dry and stuffy. Of course I was in search of Cuban cigars. His selection was a little low because he stocks every week on Monday and i was in on Friday. That didnt affect me because he had the Partagas Series E I was looking for. Only $13 each. He wrapped them up for me, gave me a lighter, and included a humidity pack. Great service. This was a great overall experience and I can't wait to go back. read more

This is a nice little tobacconists a block away from the overpacked Doumo. The proprietor is a very nice man with a decent but small selection of cigars. His Habanos selection was limited but well thought out carrying great cigars such as Boli Royal Coronas and 2016 EL Capuletos. This was the only place I found in Firenze that had well maintained cigars so it is recommended. read more

Absolutely my favorite tobacco shop in the world. I stumbled upon Castellana on my first trip to Florence and was amazed at the number of pipes (all high quality) Giovanni has in his shop. A great selection from the boutique Italian pipe artisans plus some big name brands too. Giovanni also has a great selection of tobacco and toscano cigars. I've been back to Florence twice after that first visit and I always make it a point to return to Castellana Giovanni and purchase some briar. Giovanni is a great guy, he lets you sample the tobacco, gives good pointers to selecting Italian pipes and gives you the history of all the Italian pipe makers. On my last visit a number of years ago he said that he was working on a website. Its been up for a while and I've ordered from him a couple times without a hitch. Can't wait to make it back to Florence and visit the shop in person again. I highly recommend that you visit this shop if you are a pipe smoker visiting Florence.
