The rooms are quiet and the best plus which isn't even mentioned on their website is the self service laundry room on the second floor. You will need 6 euros, 50 cents, one or two euros coins. They don't make change so come prepared. The breakfast buffet is fine (wish they had hazelnuts or walnuts for the cereal), but I really love the club sandwich (I always order it for lunch), if you arrive later then the fare now isn't as good. They used to have really good pizzas, but have dropped them from the menu. The front desk said their bar could do a Hugo Spritz, but they don't have all the ingredients. Major disappointment! We arrived early but found a clean room which may be because we are Hilton Honors or I am using my AMEX Hilton Honors card. One of my favorite layovers. Looking forward to coming back in two weeks to see if they found some St. Germaine.

It does not feel like Italy at all. 2) The shuttle wait was around 20 minutes, not 15 and we were not aware that the shuttle is actually a public bus used by airport employees and makes at least 5 stops between the hotel and airport. The line at the hotel was also huge and some people did not get on, so plan accordingly. My husband and I stayed here for one night because we wanted to be by the airport for our flight the next morning. When we arrived we waited in a long line at reception and then asked for the front desk to check us in and order a taxi to Ostia Antica, a Roman ruin about 20 minutes away. We wanted to get back to exploring Italy on our last day and not be stuck in the hotel. The woman at the reception was confusing as she said a room was ready and then she said I'm not going to give you that room. She also could not comprehend that we would want a taxi to leave the isolated hotel. It was a very odd experience, but we did end up having our bags held in their storage closest and getting a taxi. The taxi was expensive and I should have looked at uber instead because our uber back was much cheaper. Ostia Antica is a really cool ancient ruin and archeological site and the village is adorable and has a castle. I highly recommend checking it out if you get to this hotel during the day. When we got back to the hotel in the evening we got the room keys. It's an old hotel with odd, sometimes scary decor (clown pictures) and they forgot to put shampoo in our shower. They sent us up shampoo and we just needed a place to stay before our flight so it was fine, but the cost was too high in my opinion and I think people should strongly consider their options before choosing this hotel.

It's about 40 minutes (without traffic) but can easily be 1-2 hours away from downtown Rome and the Vatican. Still, a more affordable and quieter option. The outside of the hotel is charming, with a garden courtyard and fountain. On our first night here, we watched the sun set from the roof. Very beautiful! The lobby is not small, but not incredibly large. It's decorated with a few antique pieces which was kind of neat. The front desk attendant was nice and patient with our large group. He gave each person the room keys and after hopping on the elevator, I realized that my room was on the first floor. If you can, ask for a room on an upper floor as the first floor is located close to the lobby. My room wasn't outdated and was large for one person. I'm not going to lie, I felt a little creeped out by myself, but nothing terrible happened. There is A/C, a TV, a nice, clean bathroom with bidet, shower, and toilet. The bed wasn't the most comfortable, but I made do. I would leave the room key with the front desk so you don't have to carry it around. There is a large dining room where breakfast and dinner were served. The dinner was so much food! But everything was delicious, from the pasta, to salad, to entree. I didn't care too much for the dessert though. All in all, a good stay. It's nothing fancy, but it's quiet away from all the craziness of downtown Rome and I loved all of the quirky bits found throughout the hotel. Oh and there's wifi and it's high speed!

Anyway, I will leave one here since we had such a nice experience. The hotel is huge and at the top of a hill, so it overlooks Fiuggi. In that respect, we liked it because it can otherwise be very loud in town with all the august festivities during our stay. I actually saw this hotel from the window of our first hotel and moved here after we decided the first place was no good. The outside is really that compelling. It looks like a mansion out of a movie. The entryway will not disappoint as it is all marble with high ceilings. If you look up the history, it was built as part of the glamorous early 1900s - gatsby/titanic style. Everything is opulent with detailed moldings and built-in statues everywhere. The outdoor pool is 12 feet deep on one end. Serious lap swimming to be enjoyed. Anyway, I won't go into all the details of how gorgeous the place is since it would take too long. Just imagine west egg. The service was probably the best I have experienced. Everyone was so accommodating and polite. Dinner was very good both nights. Very large portion sizes and italians eat 2 main courses so it was a lot to manage. We shared the appetizer and primi piatti. Peach sorbetto was to die for and had it both nights. Some places are mostly friendly, but rarely are they all friendly. Anyway, had a great time enjoying the spa and hanging out in our lovely suite. So why the 4 instead of 5 stars? Some minor details like landscaping and worn out outdoor furniture. It was an interesting place because it was almost like staying at a museum. It was a favorite for high society back in the day so while everything is of the utmost quality, there is that feeling that there has been some time since the glory days. Plus, I'm sure it is very difficult to keep up with a property that big. Anyway, if you find yourself in fiuggi for whatever reason, this is definitely the best hotel around.

The spa was beautiful and their staff was very professional and great service providers. The food was so fresh, everything I had was exceptional and maybe one of the best meals I had had in Italy. The local Olive oil was hands down the best I have ever tasted and of course their famous water from the region has hydrated the royal families throughout Europe for hundreds of years. I was by myself but it would be a great place for a family in the summer or a relaxing girls trip for a few days. One day I want to come back and stay for a month with my family. I enjoyed that I did not see any other people from the US (I am from the US) there were only other European tourists from other countries visiting, so it felt like a very authentic experience. It is a approximately 1 hour from the Rome airport. My room was very large and beautiful. The only thing I would wish for would be warmer blankets. I was quite cold at night. Besides that, the region is worth the trip. The little village is safe and very pretty and relaxing. The Hotel is seasonal so please make sure you check your dates.

The staff were wonderful with helpful suggestions from the front desk to the amazing breakfast buffet staff that always gave us a very warm "buongiorno" when we came in. After a few days the server didn't need to ask anymore he just brought me a cappuccino when I sat down. That is probably the biggest breakfast buffets I have ever seen.
