The atmosphere is lively, the hospitality unlike any restaurant we visited. Very family forward. Ladies kept kissing my daughter's head. The men kept tapping it. They love children. The food was very good. Mixed seafood pasta and the pasta Rita had unique flavors I've never had. Very touristy but experience felt very local.

One thing to note is that Osteria da Rita dal 1991 does NOT take reservations under any circumstance and is walk in only. I tried to go through the local 5 star hotel concierge at our resort and they didn't have access, and I also tried to secure reservations myself (I work for a high end travel/concierge company) and also was unsuccessful myself. But now, I understand why after going there. When you walk up, try to go towards the start of their dinner hours to get in line for a standby table. As tables "turn" the next table in the line is seated, that way everyone at the restaurant is treated fairly and is seated as tables are available. There were people in line with us that had dined there 2 or 3 times for dinner during their vacation, so we knew we were in for a treat because dining in Taormina is absolutely outstanding! Right across from the line queue, there in a gelato shop with a takeaway bar that sells wine, beer, and alcoholic drinks that you can take into the line while you wait for your table. At the time of our visit in June 2025, we were able to get a bottle of wine for 15 Euros that we drank while waiting on our table for about an hour to an hour and a half. When we were seated, we were greeted warmly by restaurant staff and they brought over the menus and complimentary bread and bruschetta. We also ordered the bottle of house wine to start as well and it was really good! For starters, we ordered the Spaghetti da Za Rita (15 Euros) and the Lasagna al Ragu (15 Euros). Both had homemade pasta and the quality was out of this world, everything was super fresh. For the entree we ordered the Lemon Flavored Meatballs (16 Euros) and these were out of this world, also very fresh and an amazing main course to share! We were full by the time we got through with dinner, so we didn't order any dessert but all of the desserts looked amazing! They did bring over a complimentary shot of limoncello to close the meal which was also greatly appreciated as well! It's truly an amazing restaurant and a must try spot if you're in Taormina!

Very polite and professional. Food came out in a perfectly timely manner. Ordered liter of red house wine, side salad and spicy salami pizza to start. Pizza was amazing very delicious and piled with spicy salami. Yum! Next ordered the trofie pasta with tuna, olives and capers (local dish) and a spicy shrimp spaghetti dish which was off the chart. Both pasta dishes were fantastic and the portion size was big. The interior of the restaurant was very cool. They have a great wine display and extensive selection of great wines. I highly recommend eating here. Initially I was skeptical because it is in a super touristy location but I have no regrets. Great food, service and ambiance. Grazie!!

The window sign said that they are open 24 hours so I think this would be a great place to grab a snack late at night. We got here after swimming in the Ionian Sea and me and my co workers were starving from all the swimming and fun we just had and figured we'd grab a bite to eat before heading back up to Taormina. Had some wine and some food and wasn't disappointed. Had the Macaroni al norma and it was very flavorful and good. The bruschetta was about average and the bread was a little crunchy and I didn't really like it. Overall , I wouldn't mind coming back here to eat some food before heading up to Taormina on the Gondola!

But everything was just absolute perfection and deserving of their Michelin stars. We had the ocean views where we cut our wedding cake. We had a 6 course menu with hors d'oeuvres served in the beginning before we were seated indoors. Everything was so delicious. Our guests said that this was the best wedding meal that they have ever had. The service also was IMPECCABLE. They were on top of filling our wine and just so immaculate. The dish that stood out to me was the homemade ravioli and the lamb. SO buttery and tender and just insanely rich with goodness. Everyone enjoyed the ambiance and the food the most of all. We couldn't have asked for a better venue to celebrate our wedding and host our reception. Definitely will be coming back here for our wedding anniversary and enjoy a lovely date here.
