However, Dr Cullen is almost impossible to have a conversation with, or ask questions of it's just his natural manner, but it makes things difficult and awkward and you often don't get answers to your questions/concerns. His nurse tries her best to be the middle man, and I can understand that it gets frustrating for her. However, that doesn't justify the fact that she speaks to him in an insolent manner which is embarrassing, to the point that I don't know where to look/what to do, and feel like a spare part; it's wholly inappropriate. Also, it makes the atmosphere stressful which is the last thing you need. She seems to be very good at her job otherwise. Beyond that everything was much more than fine in the beginning; however, as soon as I complained about something everything changed. The attitude of all the staff towards me changed, and Dr Cullen no longer had time for me even when I tried to seek his advice for an ongoing issue. Prior to that, he would really would go out of his way doing all sorts of things which were truly 'added value', and set him completely apart from the rest. He is also truly a proactive dentist, and was the first in my life to set out a treatment plan and give me advice. Had previous dentists taken such care, I wouldn't have ended up with such a mess in my mouth. However, I finally had enough of the 'atmosphere' created at each visit and the fact that they both thought nothing of it, the inability to discuss my concerns, his new couldn't-care-less attitude towards me, and the endless stories each visit about the wonders he'd worked on other people's teeth (which flagged up a confidentiality issue with me I hope those patients gave their permission, because I would not like photos/details of my mouth to be shown to/discussed with other people) and went elsewhere. I also visited the hygienist several times, and got so frustrated that I chose to visit another hygienist also. She spends a good portion (much longer than the 5 minutes that is on a notice in her treatment room) of the appointment making notes on the computer, which is a waste of time because she asks the same questions, and says the same things, each appointment. It gets very tedious, and takes up even more of the appointment unnecessarily. The time actually spent on my teeth made me feel as if I wasn't getting value for money at all. Also, the one time I asked for something specific to be treated I had to ask repeatedly, and it wasn't done effectively even though it was something easy to resolve.

I now travel for an hour and a half to go there (and have done so for almost 15 years). Hopefully that speaks for itself. Over the past 20 years or so I have received consistently excellent care and attention to detail. I recently needed some work done and have to say that for something no one is going to relish it was a positive experience. I was reassured and kept comfortable the whole time and am very pleased with the result. Highly highly recommended!

During my first consultation Dr Kyi was very informative and encouraging, so after a few weeks I actually decided to go for the 'treatment'. I had an appointment with Dr Kyi every single month so she could check progresses and make adjustments making sure we'll take the braces off on time. But the time came and we had the insurance so off we went. I was holding off on writing this review until I had some real work done by Dr. Dickson. So yesterday I went on line to his handy dandy appointment website and booked myself in to have a cracked filling replaced. I think he is the best dentist I have ever had. My cleaning was actually pleasurable. No blood. My filling replacement well, it was dental work so I can't say it was pleasurable. What I can say is that apart from the Novocaine shot I didn't feel any pain. Even now that the numbness has worn off I feel totally fine. My filling feels very natural and like the old one when I bite on it. You know how sometimes you can just tell that someone is good at what they do? I get that feeling here. I think he is not only good at being a dentist but he really likes it and wants to make you as comfortable as possible. I also like that he really explains what is going on so you know what treatment you need, what treatments can wait and what is really important. Plus I can say that he is the first dentist ever to not mention my tongue piercing. Usually I get a lecture. Nope, nothing. Thanks again Dr. Dickson!!
