I showed them my printed confirmation saying Gow's Home Hardware.....after some arguing I had a manager assure me it would be cleared up and I'd get my order in February....I received the Dish washer in March, I'm supposed to receive the refrigerator today, 6 months after needing a new fridge....Would I buy from them again???? While not as big and well-stocked as Gow's in Bridgewater (LH doesn't even try to stock the kind of seasonal and housewares items that Gow's has), LH has a good selection of all the hardware basics, plus a few very special extras. They've got a fine, if small, chandlery section, if you need to work on your boat. And they sell Benjamin Moore paints and are truly experts in this area. I don't go anywhere else for my paint. Most importantly, this store has the best staff ever! They are helpful and knowledgeable, especially the ones who have been there a decade or more. No matter what project you're working on, the established staff members like Sandy, Elaine, Ron and Ronnie can help you figure out what you need. They also (I just discovered) have a very nice website.

It's a place where you can find quality parts and surplus parts at cheap prices AND their warranty is exceptionally - "If you aren't happy, bring it back and get your money back." I've done that on a couple of occasions when I had bought some piece on 'spec' that it would fit, but didn't - they honoured their pledge: No questions asked! Now their stores are in many larger Canadian cities and I look for them and spend my free time there when the wife is doing her thing at some girly store - Actually, she sometimes likes to browse there too.

It has everything, tools, power units (chippers, generators, etc), trailer accessories, welding, the list goes on. The house brand is POWER FIST, and i have mixed feelings on it. The prices seem to be as good or slightly better than the Mastercraft (Cdn tire brand) but i don't feel the quality is on the same field, althoguh close. Do i own Power Fist tools? Hell yeah, for what i do, i usually go with the best price! Yes the place seems like it is in disarray, with stuff everywhere, but spend a little time in there and it makes sense. Although that could be due to my ever increasing insanity. Need a tool for something to do at home, keep this place on the list of places you search. You just may be surprised.

And this Piercy's / Rona is no exception, it has what i need when I need it! Lumber - for when i want to build some awesome stuff. Tools - for when i need something, or to replace something. So does Cdn Tire! Paint - for painting. supplies - for everything, electrical, plumbing, etc. etc. etc. Does it have everything? no, but it has the most common needs a home owner typically y has! Plus it is only 5 minutes from my house......HUGE bonus points. Yes the Rona/Kent/Home Depot in Bayer's Lake are bigger/better/ more ominous, but they are further away when you need say a junction box and generic ceiling light to add in my basement! ( last nights project!)
