I liked The Batman Animated Series , but I especially like the voice of Harley Quinn. Thank you Arleen Sorkin. Arleen Sorkin definitely set the standard for women doing Harley Quinn voice. The book Mad Love was brought to my attention when I visited Comic World one day. Harley Quinn went through a series of changes, but the Batman Animated Series and The Arkham Series Games are my favorite looks. Margot Robbie was okay as Harley Quinn, but I did not like the Bootyshorts she had to wear through the movie. I don't feel this is how Harley Quinn is. I always received great service at this store and great advice. I also appreciated the advance calls for comics I was intrested in. Great times at this shop.

I had bought roughly $150 worth of Pokémon cards and the guy that runs the TCG section of the store was so positive and helpfu! We talked for a good 30 minutes about Pokémon and the value of cards and what sets to get. Just an overwhelmingly positive experience and store to be in and go to!

At the time I lived in Columbus and was in the Ironton/Portsmouth area to see family and had randomly found this spot at the mall. Over the years I had visited both locations mall and the downtown Ashland location shortly after it opened. It's been a few years since I've been in as I now live 4.5 hours away compared to 2.5, but was in the area on Wednesday. I had stopped in and browsed and was even more impressed with my finds this trip in addition to what I've found over the years. They have everything from Kenner Star Wars to Han Soloflex POTF 90s Star Wars to MOTU to Thundercats to Power Rangers to Strawberry Shortcake & Movie Maniacs. Staff is great and prices are fair. Definitely another spot I always try to hit in the area.

The selection is pretty good, and the store has been clean and mostly welcoming both times I've been there. However, what broke it for me was when the owner told me he didn't have time to read any comics himself. I had stopped in one afternoon after work out of curiosity and subsequently struck up a friendly shop talk conversation with him. He seemed knowledgeable enough about the broad strokes of comics both as a medium and an industry, but I couldn't get past his lack of reading. Would you go to a mechanic that didn't drive a car? Would you eat at a nice restaurant if the chef only ate PB&Js? In a niche industry like comics, people crave community, and I just didn't feel it at Journey into Comics.

As far as the beer selection, it is good and largely local. We gladly picked up a new game while we were there, and I'm looking forward to when they sell gently-used games as well. With being able to try the games from the library, having a cool place to hang, and the craft beer (hopefully coffee, food and other stuff in the future), I definitely don't mind spending just a bit more on my board games there than, say, Amazon. Please check it out, even if your board game experiences are limited to just Monopoly or Uno, etc. I wish with all my heart that this place becomes a cherished, welcoming staple of the area.
