Absolutely horrible service!! I asked the manicurist not to trim my cuticles - instead I asked her to push them back - and she proceeded to trim them even though I was begging her to stop. I should have left at that point. Then, she needed to move my foot, so rather than ask me, she picked it up and slammed it down. It was the most awful salon experience ever. There are so many options in Plano for great nail salons...don't bother with this one. read more

My bad experience at Castle Spa on Wednesday.... I couldn't let it go. The lackadaisical service was repulsive. Spa water was cold, after asking to warm the water, she only turn on the hot water for a minute. Her main concern was up selling my pedicure. The seat was broken, so now my legs couldn't stretch out. I mentioned the seat issue, no response. Even though all the seats were available to left of me and 3 to the right. She didn't scrub my feet; I had to ask. Then when I ask side scrub... no answer. However she kept conversing with her coworkers. At that point I was over her and Castle. Will NOT return. read more

The girl who did my nails was really rough and made 4 of my fingers bleed. She squirted alcohol on my fingers and I grimaced and she goes, "sorry about that." Then proceeded to leave glue and powder stuck under my nails. My fingers feel sore today and I'm so annoyed! I definitely won't be going back there. read more

These people are so rude! They don't have a drying station so I had to wait for my pedicure to dry for a very long time. And STILL it wasn't dry when I left because well...they don't have a drying station! So my big toe got messed up on my way out and I had to come back in to have them fix it. The lady told me that it was my fault for putting my flip flops back on and that you're supposed to wait 2 HOURS before putting on shoes again..WHAT? I have have been a customer of Castle Nails for two years and it's the only place I go. Tiffany does my Nexgen nails and Jenny does my Fortress pedicures. They are both great at what they do and are very hard workers! The shop is very spacious and clean; plus they have a great free beverage selection. I've never had a problem with my nails as they use sealed packs of sterilized tools for each person. I love Castle Nails Spa - and this is my very first Yelp post! read more

I had read great things about this salon so I tried it out with a mani/pedi. My pedicure was terrible. They didn't get my calluses, trimmed my toe nails so that they hurt now and my nail polish chipped off in TWO DAYS. So I went back, had the polish touched up and not even a day later it came off, yet again. Needless to say I encourage anyone looking for a good nail salon to steer clear of this one. read more

I have been loyal customer to this salon since they opened. They sold to new owners back in September and every great person who worked there has left. The experience I had today was one of cheap ownership. People had appointments and waited way over 30/45 minutes afterwards. They Nicole and dime for everything now. It's truly sad! I've been coming here for the last two years and haven't found (and stopped looking for) a better nail place. The hospitality is amazing, it is very clean and beautiful decor inside. Jenny does THE BEST spa pedicures. Absolutely love her!! She always gets me an appointment, pays close attention to detail and does such a great job!! She's amazing!! It took me going somewhere else for Nexgen to realize how profoundly bad this place is. I had to wait for a long time, which in and of itself wasn't bad; but to soak my nexgen off, they had me soak my hands in alcohol not realizing it wasn't polish remover. So, that was for about 20 minutes...then came the realization it was wrong and the polish remover was afterwards. Needless to say, my hands were a dried out mess--that then peeled for a week...and at the time there was no apology or offer to fix it or discount it somehow. This and many other times before, I would always leave with dipping powder caked on my hands and also under my nail as I was told that was normal....umm...no it's not. read more

I am writing this as I am leaving Castle Nails for the last time. I have visited this "very professional, clean nail spa" several times within the past few years but each time have left more than disappointed. The only reason I have continued coming back was that it was very close to my house and I thought that I would give them another shot. Today's visit was definitely the worst experience I have ever had at a nail salon. When I sat down, I handed the nail technician(Sunny) the color that I wanted which was a pale pink and she expressed that because of the color of my skin I would look ugly with this color on my nails. I told her that this was the color that I wanted but she continued bringing out different options that she felt would look better on me. Once Sunny finally began to work on my nails with a color that I didn't want in the first place, I began to become concerned because it almost seemed like she would do the complete opposite of what I wanted her to do. For example, I told her that i wanted my nails rounded and she made them more squared/boxed. Throughout my manicure she made four of my fingers bleed and when she saw that I had noticed she laughed. Towards the end of my manicure I looked closely at my nails and was shocked at what I saw. My nails weren't smooth, my cuticles were completely raw, and the shape of my nails was nothing like I had asked for. Sunny asked me what other services I wanted such as an eyebrow wax, eyelash tint, or neck massage and when I said that I didn't want anything else she replied with, "Really? You don't look very pretty. You could really use it." At that moment I said no thank you once again and got up to walk to the register. I asked Sunny if I could please speak with a manager and she refused to get someone that I could talk to. I handed her my credit card, paid almost double what I was supposed to, and as I was leaving the salon I saw a sign on the door that said "Please write us a review on Yelp!" and here I am. If you care about your nails, please stay away from this salon. read more

I've been going to this salon for maybe 2 yrs off and on. Today will absolutely be my last! My sister was just there yesterday and had gotten the gel nails. I tried to get the nexgen nails since it is supposed to make my nails stronger and healthier. The young man and lady who had done them today, and on valentine day of all !! They are absolutely ugly, thick and was not done correctly. My toes i had chipped my left toes, since my normal lady Jeann was already booked, i settled for someone else! I tried this place out twice because it's close to my office, but I don't think I'll be going back. I usually go to the Castle Nail Spa in Addison and I love that location! Plano... not so much. I was told I could get in immediately, then sat and waited for 30 minutes before anyone came over to me. I asked for a gel manicure and the tech suggested I do the Next Gen powder instead. I let her know that I had tried the powder and preferred the gel. She then told me THREE more times that I would like the powder there, and it's better than the gel. Okay, maybe. But I made it clear that I prefer gel. She argued with me about the color of the polish I asked for, and even after she finished the manicure she still kept talking about it (I had dropped it at this point.) She also kept trying to pressure me into an eyebrow wax. Look, lady, I know I need my eyebrows done, but I had to get back to work. I told her I had to leave, and she kept saying "5 minutes. Only 5 minutes!" I insisted more than once that I really had to go, and again, she wouldn't let it go. My nails look good, but my cuticles bled in more than one spot. The place itself is very nice, but I'll be going back to the Addison location. read more

The salon is very clean and spacious and has an upscale feel to it while prices are reasonable (I think the salon pedi was $25). Massage could've been better, but it reflected the price. Horrible horrible experience. Will NEVER go back again. I was treated rudely, left me sitting in the chair after my nails had soaked for 15 minutes with no one coming over. I was on the verge of leaving when someone finally came. (I had an appointment at 3:30, the time they told me to come, so I was not a walk in) I wish I had just gone ahead and left. The Nexgen is all over my cuticles and fingers, it looked like a seven year old had done my nails. They told me to go wash my hands and a girl showed me where the sink was. When I told them I was unhappy, they got that girl to come over to clean off the residue that was stuck to my hands. She told me I did not wash my hands, this from the mouth of the person that showed me the sink. Plus, she had to really work that acetone to get the NexGen off. My cuticles are still very much the color of my nails. Not happy. They were rude, the girl that did my nails yanked and pulled on my hands and when she was doing the buffer she was so rough with me. I had one woman working on my pedicure and one on my manicure. Both were very thorough and meticulous. I have been getting my nails polished at Castle Nail Spa for the better part of a year and exclusively with Kathy for almost 6 months. I live in Addison and make the drive to Plano every two weeks because the service and attention to detail from Kathy is exceptional! She is always friendly and we have great conversations while she's doing my nails. She is incredibly attentive and makes sure to ask about the length and shape of my nails each time. She is through and double checks my nails throughout the process to ensure they are even and look uniform. They always have new colors for Nexgen which I appreciate! I try to make an appointment each time but if I walk in they will work me in every time and typically they are very quick even if I want to wait for Kathy! The facilities are very clean and I've never had anything less than a wonderful experience here! I highly recommend Castle Nail Spa!! read more

I love the service....Dana and Mary are my favorite! One suggestion, please consider having a full time person at the front desk at all times. It is not fair to expect the operators to answer the phone, checkout customers, schedule customers and everything else! This place is absolutely terrible. First, they don't even allow you to enjoy your pedicure if you're getting both a mani and pedi. They force you to do both at once, crossing your arms and hands to help THEM all while you are trying to relax for your pedicure YOU are paying for. It happens EVERYTIME. Second, they don't even take their time or do their job. They are all about getting your money and getting you in and out as quick as possible. I was going to get gel nails and once I saw how poor of a job they were doing I insisted only a mani so I didn't pay even more for a sucky job. Not to mention how OVERPRICED they are with terrible quality. I left with a mani and pedi that I could of done better at myself. Smudges in the paint, not even filed nails properly, or trimmed. Really, really unhappy with Castle. I've been coming regularly 1-2 times a month for about a year and was initially thrilled to find a place I loved. The last two times, my next gen manicure turned out a completely different color than the swatch (which I made sure to look at in the sunlight out front both times). Okay, fine. But today, my polish pedicure was still wet 5 hours after application and ended up totally ruined. I came back to have the polish reapplied and explained I am really unhappy with the next gen nail color having turned out different from what I wanted (which I expressed during the appointment and was brushed off). I wanted to switch to shellac on both mani and pedi to match and would have paid full price. All I wanted was to be refunded for the next gen manicure that didn't turn out anywhere close to the color I wanted. They refused. Told me the color is pretty 4 or 5 times. Told me "next time, try gel." Next time, I'll go somewhere else. This is poor customer service to leave a steady customer so unhappy with the finished product. read more
