I had a wonderful ferry ride over from Northern Ireland and then came to the stadium and was thoroughly impressed. I did not see the team play there though. However, I have seen them play a few years back, away against Inverness Caledonian Thistle. It was a good game. It is probably colder down in Stranraer than it is all the way up there. I respect this team a lot but I can't give them more than a 3 because I have seen them live but didn't have a real connection to them. When I see them play at their home stadium, that might increase. This little town is way out in the middle of nowhere in the South West of Scotland, and it's awesome that they have a team. I've been here once, recently, and it was lovely. Their stadium only seats 6k people, and this team also won a Scottish Challenge Cup recently which was excellent. They were formed back in 1870 and wear blue. They've won the second division but have never been anywhere near the dizzy heights of the Prem. They have a nice badge with a ship on it. Not much else to say.

There's only one refreshment stand for the entire ground, there's a small portacabin that passes for the club shop. Average attendance is 200 or so, dogs not included. It's your archetypal "wee fitba club" in the modern Scottish setup. The club, players and fans have absolutely no delusions of grandeur, they know exactly their place in the grand scheme of things. The atmosphere is great, as you can have a wee bit of a laugh and joke with the players on the bench or as they warm up. If you're a football fan, get yourself along to a smaller ground like this anywhere in the country and support the game at a lower level. Use it or lose it, folks...

First-Hand Experience: More info about my personal experience at this stadium - I visited Stranraer for the very first time when I sailed in here from Northern Ireland in late 2014. This was the second-to-last stadium in the Scottish League that I ever visited. I had it on my list for ages. The same day, I went and saw Dumfries too... and now the set is complete! I was very impressed by this stadium. It's got brilliant modern facilities and is a real credit to the city. The fans are great, the location is lovely, it's actually one of my favourite small town stadiums in Scotland that I've been to. I'll be back here again in 2016, it looks like. So when I was doing my first tour of Scotland in 2011, I also hit up every single stadium in the country. My obsession with footy (soccer to Americans) is the reason. Every stadium review - like all my reviews - are based on first-hand personal experience, usually from multiple visits. As recently as Fall 2014, when I was "stuck" in UK for 3 months, I went to most of them yet again while travelling. I have pictures of me at many of them, which I will post later.
