May 26, 2023 Was able to get appt due to cancellation. Appoint was 3:00pm. Got placed in exam room at 3:28pm. Vet came into the room 3:40pm. First thing vet tech brought up was that my cat wasn't on sedation medication when he arrived. He's declawed upfront but she's worried about teeth. Advice, hold the cat properly to not get bit I guess. I've never ever been to a vet in 16-years that pushed sedation prior to appt as much as this place. I know it's because they want to handle the cats in a more gentler manner but it doesn't work for us. I don't give my cat sedation medicine because the last time I did he wouldn't eat for almost 3-weeks afterwards. The after effect was awful, not ever doing that again. Also, it slows his heart rate down and he's 16 years old. He was taken to have his back left toe nail checked as it was irritated and blood drawn to see where we are at with his kidney disease. I was told I'd get the results back Tuesday and was prescribed an ointment to put on his ear to help increase appetite. So we will see if it works. Got blood work back the following week. Stage 4 Kidney Disease. He needs IV fluids 2x weekly and to rub medicine in his ear to increase appetite. Been doing it at home and it's been working a bit. Been having to feed him baby food and anything wet and new. I'm able to purchase the IV bag and needles from the vet and they let me observe how to do it 2 times. It cost about $20-$25 each time. read more

On their website they provide email appointment requests (3 date and time options - by request), but they never follow up. You won't get a phone call or text or email response. Reason enough to question the integrity of this vet office. I imagine that they would or will have an excuse for not following up. Bottom line, If you offer a service you NEED to then follow up with people and get the appointment or reason why you cannot schedule for the date or dates requested. Thus the convenience of online scheduling. Otherwise don't offer it! Here I was giving them a second chance after previously being disappointed in the care of my cat Smokey. I won't get into details. I told myself I wouldn't return with any of my kitties, due to the experience. The only thing I liked about this place was a cat only, location and that most procedures are done with pet parent present (exam, shots). But I realized that their not worth it. We brought our dear Boddie boy in and had to put him to sleep. I can tell you that was one of the hardest things I have had to do in my life. I found the staff was comforting, caring and understanding, and the Dr. was so nice. She gave my Boddie a shot to make him fall asleep, and he did, in my arms, it was the last thing he remembered. Through tears, we thanked them and left, I was so grateful for the way they handled the situation, it is so tough to go through that..and they made it the best they could. Took my cat there to be neuter, they said it would be 240., this included shots needed. I refused feline leuk. Which wasn't part of the 240. Dropped off cat, no one knew what time surgery would be. Called at 10 said cat was go in in surgery then, but had to add on 65.00 feline leuk.So I obviously had no choice but to pay it. When I told them when they made the price sheet I didn't want feline leuk it was no problem. Feeling tricked at this point, and the prices are way higher than most already. No one called me so at 1240 I called to see how my cat went thru the surgery, they said he was just then going in....and someone would call me later. So in addition to adding on prices after you drop off your pet, that were not on original sheet of charges , they have very poor communication .which is very upsetting when you leave your pet under there care and no one seems to know whats going on. Also the halifax humane vet services charge 45,neuter, and the 2 shots would of been35. Wish I would have known. This used to be a good place when I took my other cat there 2 or 3 years back, but I think these are new owners. I answered a survey sent through the Pet Desk App asking how my service was. When I expressed my concerns, this is their response: Dear Lura, Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent visit. At Cat Care Clinic, every effort is made to keep cats with their owners. All exams with a doctor are always scheduled in an exam room, just like Buddy's first kitten exam was. In fact, even for procedures such as blood draws, we stay in the room so that the owner can observe. However, for quicker procedures like a second kitten booster, kittens are sometimes taken to the treatment area for that booster to be administered. We do try to limit the number of clients in our small treatment room as we are often dealing with very sick cats, performing anesthesia or other procedures. Because we often have four doctors seeing appointments in four exam rooms, it would greatly extend client wait times if we waited until an exam room was available. This also saves clients money as they are not paying an exam fee for a brief technician visit. If all kitten boosters were always with a doctor, client costs would increase. Buddy's final kitten visit will be with a doctor, in an exam room, as only a DVM can administer the Rabies vaccine. Veterinary medicine is currently experiencing an overwhelming number of sick patients combined with chronic staff shortages. Cat Care Clinic is doing everything possible to help as many patients as we can, be efficient and minimize wait times. I adopted two rescue kittens. I needed a vet and decided to take them here. My one cat has anxiety issues. I like that this is a cat only vet, focusing on cat issues and care. The staff is super nice and the way they treated my cat was excellent. The vet techs review treatment plans and costs BEFORE they treat so you can stay in budget. I called around before my first visit to compare office visit prices. They are in line with other vet offices. The vet was awesome both in treatment of my cat and explaining treatment to me. I decided to post this review because the other reviews are several years old. Very poor customer service. If you are a pediatrician, you have to work with your patients parents. This is also true if you are a vet. The woman at the front desk is so rude,. She tells you how it is without regard to what you want. My 11 year old cat is a diabetic. I ordered syringes and insulin for $174 and when I picked them up, the syringes were not the ones I have used for three years twice a day. I had just paid her for them before she handed them to me. She INSISTED they were what I needed. I took them home and took them back. Once again, she refused to give me what I wanted. When I ran out of my syringes and open the box she INSISTED I keep, they were not at all like the ones I use. I called the office and told them I would not use them. They talked with Dr Carson who told them to give me what I needed. When I went to pick them up ($58), they would not refund my money ($48) and would not take them. So it took me THREE tries and $100 to get what I needed . They also would not take the used box I brought in for disposal. I was told I would have to take them to some disposal place and I would have to pay. Through a fire department, I learned I could take them to Volusia County Health Department which I did at no charge. I also want to donate the syringes I don't want and Cat Care Clinic, the Health Department and Halifax Humane Society won't take them...so frustrating. If I could give this clinic a ten star, I would. What a great place with great people. When I called, Jen W was so helpful and sympathetic. I drove from The Villages over to Ormond for my appointment (1 hour, 45 minutes). I wish I lived in Ormond for my cat's sake! First, when I went into the exam room with the cage, they put the cage on the floor and opened the door just in case the cat wanted to come out. I had never seen that done before. When the doctor came in, she had a large towel that she put on the floor a few feet from the cage and sat on it! When she wanted to start the exam, instead of tipping the cage on its end to get the cat out, she took the lid off the cage. My cat was not frightened at all. Then in order to distract her while she started her exam, they brought chicken baby food in, put a spoonful on a paper towel and let her lick it while they examined her! All of this was done on the floor. My cat was fine with all of this. She needed an ultrasound so they took her back to do that. In a few minutes the tech came to get me and took me back so I could see the ultrasound myself! I have owned cats for decades and that has never happened! Dr. Carter was very thorough in explaining what was going on including showing me photos on her cell phone of different things that show up in an ultrasound. She spent a lot of time with me and made me understand things that my regular vet had not explained to me. I am here to tell you, this place is where you want to take your cat. First, I am a transplant from Chicago to Palm Coat Florida. This vet is one of the "gold" members of cat care, No dogs, ducks or birds, just cats. Less stress than having a zoo be present when you bring in your cat, for both of us. We have 3 cats and although it is a 25 minute trip to the vet, I would think of no other. The waiting room is fabulous--nicer than many "people" doctors. Calm and peaceful. The assistants are very gentle and super knowledgeable-- shout out to Laine! The vet was the best that I have seen and I have had cats for over 40 years! The vet was kind, caring, gentle, and knew her cats! They were amazing. They were willing to hold my cat for a few hours to collect a urine sample. No other vet has ever done that. I have two beautiful cats that I adopted from the humane society over the past two years. Well as any good pet parent I wanted my "kids" to have the best possible medical treatment out there. At the recommendation of a friend I went to cat care clinic in OB. The first few times I went in they were great, very friendly, and sweet. They understood that my eldest cat didn't like vets and always were kind to him in order to try to ease his discomfort and fear. Well in January of 2010 both of my cats got sick. Once we got home from vacation I took them both into cat care clinic. I notified the receptionist over the phone that I wanted to bring them both in. Well after waiting for a few minutes they brought us into the exam room. The vet came in and looked them over than excused herself. I could hear her asking the receptionist why I had brought in both cats. The walls are paper thin in this place so I could hear the receptionist bad mouthing me. When the vet came in I confronted her about how unprofessional that conversation was and informed her that I could hear every word and that I did not appreciate it. I came into the clinic to get my cats looked at and nothing more than that. After two years of being a loyal customer and recommending them to friends I will never go there again. I have too little time to waste with a bunch of stupid women who have no further way to entertain themselves than to talk about paying customers who are in the next room. Outside of the unprofessionalism the vets are not bad. However, you can find the same service for less any where else in Daytona or Ormond. read more

I live in California; my mother lives in Florida and is looking after my cat since I'm not in a position to bring him here. He developed an abscess on his leg that needed to be treated and she brought him in to this clinic. They lanced it and gave him some pain medication, which cost me (the one paying the bills) about $270. Seemed high. However the abscess was not getting any better, and she brought my cat back for a follow-up checkout. They then charged me almost $400 dollars for another lancing, x-rays and various medications including an oral antibiotic (which I believe he should've received the first time, right?). I found out later that not only was she not given instructions to keep him inside and away from other cats on BOTH VISITS, but he wasn't given a cone to keep him from biting/licking the wound and wasn't provided with site antibiotics/antibacterial to prevent external infection. All three of these things are standard when treating abscesses. Now I can't help but wonder if they were taking advantage of an older woman to milk her for more money, which is nearly $700 dollars that I couldn't afford, not to mention allowing a cat to be in pain for days with improper treatment. Did some digging around, asked some vet tech friends and compared notes with other cat owners. Found out that it's around $100-$200 dollars to treat an abscess much larger than his, and THAT procedure included everything: proper instructions, all medication and a cone. I told my mother to watch him, get a cone if possible and apply Neosporin to the site after allowing it to drain. I'll add more later on whether or not this helps it to clear up. Either way, she will not be going back to this clinic. Why would you order X-rays (a $180 procedure here) without first following the most basic of treatment steps in full? Christ. read more

I'm a Vet and senior and called to see if they'd work with me on bringing in my 2 Oriental Shorthairs. I'm on SS,food stamps,food banks don't have much extra money with rent and paying bills. One of my cats is congested and has coughing problem but was told they'd give wellness exam but that's it. No discount on anything else and would have to pay after each visit. I can't afford this. I have brought several cats to this clinic, and have purchased supplies from them as well. I have never had any reason to doubt the quality of their services. The veterinarians are knowledgeable and have good bedside manners. The technicians handle animals gently. The reception staff is very friendly as well. The only negative thing I have to say is that they are more expensive than the average veterinary clinic, but it is health care and you get what you pay for. read more

My wife and I were so lucky to have discovered the Cat Care Clinic. The entire staff is friendly, knowledgeable and caring and, although there is a vet virtually next door to our condo, it was well worth the 20-minute drive to bring our cats to the Cat Care Clinic. Recently, when it was time for the last of our three cats to move on to Cat Heaven, Dr. Carter did everything she could to ease our pain and literally cried along with us.
