Cat Marie offers amazing transformation photo shoots. You get made over by a professional make-up artist before your shoot, which is done entirely in natural light. I can't think of anyone else offering a service like this.
I was given a voucher to use in Cat's studio, which covered the makeover, shoot and £100 towards the pictures.
After my shoot with Cat, I've decided I need her lovely make-up artist, Gemma, to do my hair and make-up every day. Could that be arranged? The look she put together for me was perfect - I still looked 'like me', but the very best version of me. Gemma was chatty and friendly, and gave me some great tips for how I could recreate what she was doing at home. Really useful if you're a just slap it on and hope for the best type girl like me!
On to the shoot itself. I don't think I stopped laughing all the way through. I'm a blogger, so much happier behind the camera than in front of it, but Cat made me feel totally at ease. Cat is bubbly and friendly, and made me feel like she was enjoying the shoot as much as I was. She gave me super clear instructions on how she wanted me to pose, which was immensely helpful. I never felt like I was standing there awkwardly or doing something that looked strange, because she was telling me exactly what she wanted me to do. If you're not used to having camera pointed at you, this kind of guidance is invaluable. I could have had no pictures to treasure afterwards, and just the huge amounts of fun and new confidence I had from the shoot alone would have been enough to keep me happy. But the pictures? I was blown away. I did look like me, but in a way I never knew I could look (yes, apparently that is possible). The pictures are now in pride of place in my living room and get shoved under the nose of anyone who comes in, because I am so delighted with them.
