4 stars if you are a fan of garden railways (model trains that run outside), maybe 3 stars if not fans of garden railways.
We had really low expectations after reading other reviews, and we were pleasantly surprised that the place was pretty cool. Our 6 year old son loved the scale model circuit and the train that you can also ride (additional 2 Euros per person).
We only did the scale model circuit and the train. We didn't try the adventure courses.
The scale model circuit has about 5 working garden railways (probably Lionel's garden scale, but European designs) and about 5 models of actual stations from the Catalunya area.
There are about 40 other scale model buildings. The playground is a joke.
The scale model circuit is outside and has no shade. I recommend visiting morning or very late afternoon if it is hot and sunny.
We purchased the train+bus+park entrance ticket from the kiosk at the train station at Pl. Espanya. This public transit option saved us a lot of money but it is not easy. You take the train to St Vincent dels Horts (about 30 minutes). Then you follow well-marked signs to the bus.
The bus is the big challenge. The "Line 62" bus only leaves St Vincent station every hour. We were there on a weekday and it seemed to depart on the :45's. I am not sure it is the same every hour or on weekends. The posted bus schedule was very difficult to read. Tell the driver that you are going to Catalunya en Miniatura so the driver can tell you where to get off the bus.
Once the driver tells you to get off, ask the driver to point you in the direction of the park. You won't be able to see it.
Get off the bus and cross the street. Write down the times of the return buses posted - again usually around the :45's.
Then walk to the park. First you walk downhill to a traffic intersection, and then you keep following the road signs to the park. It's about a 15 minute walk (mostly uphill).
All in all, the public transportation option can save you a lot of money, but this should only be attempted by people very, very comfortable with public transportation. read more
