As a result of this information, and the meeting with staff of the Goodwill Career Center, I learned about the scope for career preparation and reentry into the workforce as people have the opportunity to enhance their lives in some measure through training, workforce development services, and collaborative efforts with other community organizations. To be more specific however, Goodwill Northwest NC is 1 of 4 Goodwill organizations in North Carolina, 1 of 150 Goodwill's in North America, located in a 31-county territory, connected to 19 related career centers, employing 1,100 workers, and serving 25,000 annually. I greatly appreciate having the chance to meet the staff of the Goodwill Career Center in Salisbury, NC and I hope to continue with a partnership moving forward as the segment of higher education in which I am employed may funnel graduates into the organization where outreach is developed and nurtured.

The Inn is a coffeehouse, a music venue, a place for kids to hang out, and a place to attend church services. "Christian" Rock bands from all over NC and surrounding states have played here. The biggest difficulty here is the lack of an audience. Once the church service lets out Saturday evening, the folks go home and don't stick around for a rockin' good time. The bands are good, original, not just quickly thrown together wannabe's, they play for the sake of playing, and there's a full blown light show to go along with the music. The real issue is with those who call themselves "Christians" yet do not support the venue. When a venue for "Rock bands with a message" is ignored by the very people who should support them, that tells you the "religious" demographic isn't interested in outreach, which is a shame for everyone involved. I'm hoping The Inn sees success.
