Upon our move to Durham, we were struck with the realization that we had no friends or family in the Triangle area and we didn't know where to begin to get connected with people. Fortunately, one of our neighbors happened to be the pastor who had been tasked to start up a UMC church in Brier Creek. The church was in its 3rd year of existence, and he invited my wife and I to come check it out. He asked me what I was looking for in a church. We had not been regular church goers in the past and certainly were not well versed with scripture. My answer to the pastor was that we were seeking fellowship with people, and were interested in learning more about Christianity and the Bible. Our experience at All Saints' has been wonderful. We have watched the church grow from its start in an elementary school, to a beautiful facility that is warm and welcoming. We have made many fantastic friends and were warmly welcomed into the church and various small groups and teams within the church. To me, the most important benefit we have received has been our improved knowledge of scripture. The adult Bible study classes have been enlightening. It has been so helpful to see how others have similar questions about scripture. The various interpretations that we each bring to the group open our minds to things that we may not otherwise ever consider. I feel that I still have so much to learn and look forward to our Bible study each week. Our worship service consists of beautiful music, thought-provoking sermons, prayer, and weekly Holy Communion. We love the missional activities that All Saints' is involved with. All Saints' stresses the importance of working with the local communities and churches. I strongly recommend giving All Saints' a try for yourselves. It has been like-changing for us.

Service starts with a prayer then a few songs- words are up on a screen. It's a family oriented atmosphere where god is moving. The music department is the bomb. The band is always hitting. It's a COGIC setting but not like your orthodoxies COGIC church. I have lived in 4 nations, 4 states (west coast, north east and the south) and been part of a…read morenumber of churches, and King's Park is one of the most diverse, warm/hospitable and missional churches that I know. The church continually strives to be centered on Jesus (rather than around an individual pastor) and motivated by a mission to help people know God, grow together in community, discover their purpose and make a difference. I know a number of individuals who, when they first began to visit and come to King's Park, told me that what stood out to them the most was the warm and welcoming hospitality of the church, the diversity of the church (race, ethnicity, gender, political affiliation, socio-economic status and age), the dynamic worship, the Gospel-centered sermons and the down-to-earth leaders. Service starts at 10 and ends at 11:30. They have coffee and tea in the main entrance lobby and their kid's ministry uses an awesome material called Gospel Project. A big group of college students from UNC, Duke and North Carolina Central attend regularly. No matter one's religious background, whether one grew up in the church or is just checking church out for the first time, all are welcomed to come. The Sunday messages are presented in a way that whether one is not religious, is new to the church, or from another nation, everyone can understand the relevant messages. For the messages, they do both sermon series that go through books of the Bible (last year they went through Genesis) and sermon series cover topics such as relationships, relevance of faith in every day life, and hot topics such as politics, identity and racial reconciliation. The people I know who go to this church come from many different backgrounds- some grew up Christian, others didn't grow up religious and only recently became Christians, and others are undecided but open to finding out more about Jesus and the Bible. The church also has a over 50 different flags of nations represented in the church's makeup! I personally love this multi-ethnic church that seeks to be centered on the Gospel! I would highly recommend King's Park!
