During our trip to Canterbury, we visited two escape room companies, the only two that existed in…read morethe town at the time. The first one was Escape Kent. As of the time of writing this, they had two rooms available, Alien Attack and Escape The Serialkiller. We decided on the Alien Attack room, in which you're taking on the role of a group of scientists trying to stop, you guessed it, an attack on earth by  Lots of space in large lockers, some complimentary drinks and a really nice and comfortable waiting room to start with. We got a short briefing and off we went to save the earth.  The room is set up like a laboratory with an interesting collection of human-made and alien looking technology and documents. There were plenty of puzzles, clues, and riddles to work on, so everyone was busy right from the start. While there were a few familiar items, they also had quite a few fresh and exciting things that I hadn't encountered in this way before. Not overly difficult, but a good challenge and a lot of fun. Especially a larger group project towards the end of the game, it was quite hard to get right but so much fun to figure out. There was one clue that made no sense at all, poor planning on the organiser's side, it didn't hinder us from progressing through the game, but we did need a clue to make sense of it. There were several electronic devices involved in solving this room and while all of them worked well, there was one in particular that was hard to handle. We got it to work in the end though, so it's all good. We stopped the alien attack in good time and had a lot of fun. It's a really good team room with a thorough theme and professional production value.  I can absolutely recommend Escape Kent and we'll definitely be returning to try their other rooms.

Ramsgate / Margate / Broadstairs - Drunks, Druggies and Rubbish: Ramsgate, Filthy, rubbish…read moreeverywhere... even sick on the pavement around the 'royal' harbour, as for the 'beach' we kept our shoes on, I wouldn't walk bare foot here... again, as said before, poor old Ramsgate... broken, down at heel, unloved by it's local authority, unloved by it's population in general, filthy, grotty, decaying. What is going to happen to the Pavilion.... why doesn't Thanet start by sorting out that building and restore it. Broadstairs is full of drunks, wasn't even lunchtime, but still a slightly better than both Margate and Ramsgate as we didn't see any druggies. Slightly better shops, but the beach again is filthy. Margate is just full of druggies, as soon as we got there we were pounced on by 3 asking for change/light/and if we want any.... Turner Art Gallery on the front is a joke with the 'rubbish' inside it, and restaurants.... well you would be lucky to find any which isn't a Wetherspoons standard. The beach had sand....but also dog mess, JCB vehicles and rubbish. DON'T DO the 'Turner and Dickens Walk', it leave one council estate, cross 3 cabbage fields to enter another council estate, call Maragte.... how is this advertised as a historical/peaceful 'walk' - when you get to Margate, you are at the top of 'druggies' alley, and you have to go through it to get to the beach at the bottom, you will see some horrific sights....

The club takes part throughout the summer in the Forest of Blean League and has bowlers who represent the County at all levels. Like all Bowls Clubs they are always happy to see new bowlers and visitors. Great hovercrafts and great service. It is a budget priced experience compared to others so you are in a group and so each person only gets so much time in a craft. However they make it great fun with team racing and so on, so you definitely get your money's worth. Also love their hovercraft so they are in great condition and perform really well.
