I have a ton of family and family friends in medicine so there's always a plethora of knowledge around me; and different opinions. I went on my insurance website and took down bios for about 20 doctors. From there, I vetted them by specialty, location and reviews.I wanted someone personable, who I could relate to, and most importantly- someone smart who knew what they were talking about. I found everything and more in Dr. Daniel. Dr. Daniel is not only smart but she's fantastic at explaining the chemical processes going on in your body. She teaches for Swedish Covenant so she's well versed in all the common questions (that her residents have). She also believes firmly in the osteopathic approach to medicine. That pretty much means she believes in the "whole body" approach instead of just focusing on the body as separate organs. She has an open mind and believes with going with what works. Finally she is personable and encouraging. We talked about random stuff and she made me feel so comfortable. Making an appointment was simple and the office did not feel like a typical medical office. It's located at a former office/administrative building so there is a ton of marble and wall sconces. (I was mismatched with the wrong subject area to begin with.) Not to mention...horrid note taking and often had to request my visit summaries with detailed doctor notes which were hurried at best. Inconsistent lab quality - bizarre results other doctors even questioned. Unclear on their lab storage and transportation practices. Lab draws- one of the most painful needle insertions of my life and I have highly visible veins! Poorly trained or very distracted nurses here and there. For some lab tests they make the patient do the paperwork! Other functional medicine practices (all seem to lack operational funding) at least manage this aspect of care. And overall, my previous provider missed a lot of key markers. I'm grateful for some initial tests but the root cause could have been identified with the right tests I did with another practice. And their peptides are priced higher for same amount than other places.

On 8/24/2020 I was told that my Vitamin D was low along with a few other minor vitamin deficiencies. I was told that I would be put on a schedule to come to the office and have these vitamins administered by IV. I told Carla Brook that I was not going to be administering anything by IV and the costs quoted was outrageous. I requested a copy of my labs to be posted to my portal. Nearly three years later, they have never provided me with the lab results that I paid for and simply ignore my requests. I've now requested that my information in their custody and on their portal be destroyed and my account closed. No answer. I can't speak for the glowing reviews this practice gets because this is the worst I have ever experienced.
