I recently went the Catholic Gift Shop in Fullerton. I had tried several shops since Morriseys closed in Whittier. I was so impressed with the service, selection and value of the items here. I was approached with the sincerity of trying to help me find the gift I needed and yet not pressured to buy. There was a great selection to choose from and the prices were fair. My son is having his First Communion in 4 days... of course I'm shopping at the last minute. I found what I needed and, while at the register, I made conversation with the man ringing me up. I asked if he was the one who answered the phone when I called after work at 4:45, asking what time they close. When he told me they closed at 5:30, I said I was 20 minutes away and I'd race over as fast as I could. He told me to drive safely and be careful - and that they'd wait for me - SO nice! After I made my purchase, we chatted and I casually mentioned, "I'm hoping the priest can bless these before we give them to my son." He explained that he is a Deacon and then offered to bless them for me if I'd like. Umm... yes, please! Came here to look for something comforting for a family member who received some heartbreaking health news just before Christmas. This little shop has such beautiful pieces from quality rosaries to jewelry to greeting cards. You will find pretty much anything Catholic related in this store. I found much more than I bargained for here and everything that I purchased was of great quality. But the best part was the service. A very cute couple owns the business (I assume they are a couple?) and they are the most hospitable people I have ever met. We needed some gifts for a Confirmation ceremony since I was the sponsor. My sister suggested coming to the Catholic Gift Shop in Fullerton. Parking was really easy since they have their own dedicated lot. Upon arriving, due to COVID, you have to knock on the door. If there's too many people inside, you'd probably have to wait outside, but lucky for us, there was only one other customer. We were greeted with so much warmth and love. Felt like she knew me all her life. They have a really good variety of all things such as crosses, prayer cards, rosaries, books, just everything you can think of gifting. Not just the same ol' items as most stores have but unique and one of a kind treasures. Every single thing I looked at was priced fairly and was affordable. Upon entering, I was warmly greeted by the store clerk. She was very welcoming and asked if I was looking for something in particular. I let her know that I was looking for a gift for my priest (love him) and shared with her things he enjoys/likes. She helped me choose the most beautiful Celtic Cross (he's going to love it and I can already picture it on his office wall), and a fun sports themed rosary (this is a fun gift that will make him laugh since he loves football and my joke will be that it's for when his football team needs a Hail Mary hah) While browsing, I also found the perfect small gift for my dad who recently recovered from cardiac arrest and being in a coma. I've been to other catholic shops in the past and have never seen such a great selection of items. They also have a very helpful and kind staff. They were able to provide me personalized baptism prayer cards on short notice for my baby's baptism this weekend. The prayer cards were very nicely printed and laminated. So the shop is nice and cozy. My reason for the low rating was for the remarks made by the person named Naty who is photographed in these yelp reviews. She started off kind and friendly, then things changed. We were shopping for a pendant for a baby's baptism and when I suggested the cheaper item instead I could tell Naty was displeased. Then when I asked to look at other religious charms she said..."Oh you only want the cheap ones". Really?! Was that comment necessary? An honest opinion: If you are looking for Catholic gifts, this small yet effective store has it. They carry a great range of items from rings to statues and more. I noticed that their collection of movies is not the greatest but they definitely make up for that with a fantastic selection of books. We came in today looking for a certain bible and one of the staff members was able to find it in the back! By the way, if you buy a bible, you can have it personalized in gold for an additional small fee. As for customer service, it was excellent. The man that works there is a deacon so my wife and I felt at peace being there and speaking with him about the different kinds of bibles.
