Importantly, she did this against her own financial interests. We had identified a fairly extravagant home that we liked as our first choice. But we were buying a primary residence. She dissuaded us from buying that property because it wasn't in a full time resident area, didn't have neighbors or nearby kids, and would seasonally be inconvenienced by massive ski-driven traffic flow.
