The reviews on here seem mostly for in store purchases. Mine is for in-home repair service. I called because my dryer stopped working all of a sudden. Of course, I'm panicking (hey, I'm ballin on a budget!), but I spoke with a very grumpy-sounding woman who said they could come the next day! I was definitely relieved. They communicated with when they would arrive. The guy came and was friendly and efficient, fixed my dryer quickly and charged a reasonable price. Would call again! read more

I've used Cathy's several times over the last 8yrs & have always had a nice experience. When something broke within the warranty time frame, I sent a pic of my receipt & they replaced it quickly. They delivered appliances in hard to access locations. If you want to support a small family business with fair prices & don't have unreasonable expectations, this is the place. read more

The guy told me it needed a computer so I paid for the service over $450 and he told me it would take care of the problem now 3-4 months later it's doing the same thing with the same error code. They weren't trying to help me at all because it's after the 30 days but insisted I pay for them to come back out read more

Been buying stuff here for several years. Went today to pick up a refrigerator for a rental property. Family with 3 kids. 96 degrees today. Their fridge broke. So I pick one out, and find out I'm not allowed to take it with me in my pickup with my own industrial appliance dolly. So, have to wait till TUESDAY, plus pay $40 delivery! Why, because "they had some problems with people damaging the refrigerators when they took them home by themselves". Really? A business, having "some problems"? Awwww, poor babies. Better to inconvenience the customer plus pick up n extra $40. Hell with customer service. Let them wait and live with a cooler for 3 days. Avoid this place. I've found prices just as good at Home Depot in the close out aisle and they are happy to help you load it. read more

I purchased a stove and refrigerator from Cathy's in July and the freezer went out in fridge after 90 days. Thanks to their 1yr warranty I received another refrigerator the very next day. From the appliance store to the repair center everyone was very nice and professional, including the delivery Guys. I will never go anywhere else for my appliances. read more

A sad excuse for a business. Purchased two things from them and no problems. Our third item however a washer kept breaking. The third time a man came out we took a look behind him and seen the wiring was bad in the machine. We told them but he hit it added a zip tie and left. 2 weeks later and surprise not working again. The two "ladies" who answer the phone are rude and try to make it seem like it's your fault. Their current attempt was to make us send our receipt as if we didn't have it. Surprise we do! Still going through this so called warranty war now. Sadly both my husband and know how to fix it but won't because it's the principal. Don't offer a warranty if you don't want to abide by it! So fed up with this place and will never buy anything from here again. Save your money and shop elsewhere! read more

While they have a warranty with their appliances, and offer an ever-changing inventory, none of this matters if you can't get your purchase delivered. Before we paid we specified we have to have delivery before 2pm as we are both working adults who have to be at work in the afternoon. We went in on a Monday and told them ANY day this week before 2pm. The sales woman said they can't set a time window for delivery, that the delivery guys come in and make their delivery schedule each day. Understanding that, and not demanding it be that or the next day, but ANY day before 2, she continued to argue until she walked away to talk to some nameless person she referred to only as "He". She came back and said "he" OK'd the before 2 timetable but couldn't guarantee the next couple days. She wrote "before 2pm delivery" on our invoice. Two days later I called to find out what was going on and the employee who I spoke with said we had a delivery time between 6-8pm. I had to re-explain to her that isn't acceptable and that it's even *written on our invoice* and all she could tell me was the delivery guys make their schedules each day when they arrive and all I could do was continue to call back each day. Very unprofessional way to treat customers. They had no problem taking our cash to pay for the oven and pay for the delivery, but they can't accommodate this one necessity any day this week? read more

Good variety of used appliances. I was DENIED purchase as the (owner) would not deliver .. or service outside of their designated area. I am 10 miles AWAY! At the same time, I saw another customer that was refused purchase, for that reason. Boggles my mind. Thankfully, Kim was able to talk sense into the owner. Very bad business practice.. I purchased a Whirpool dryer on Saturday & it was delivered the following Monday. The driver plugged the unit in and it worked. Tuesday I put a few items in the dryer and about 1/2 hour later I went to check to see if the items were dry - and they were not. The tub was turning but there was no heat. I tried this several times with the same outcome. I called Cathy's and was told my plug is the problem for which I told the lady the plug worked when the driver installed the dryer and he also changed the plug. Said I needed to get a new plug. If this isn't a ripoff, I don't know what is. Going to the Attorney General's office to file a complaint. read more

I purchased a gas dryer from them about a year ago and it has been working great. No issues doing business with them again.

We purchased a fridge from Cathy's and although it came with a one year warranty, we had to have them out twice to service it. The second time out was because the freezer was not freezing and the fridge was not staying cool. The repairman came out, chipped away some ice and asked to use my blow dryer to thaw it out, but never fixed the actual problem. So of course here we are, a few months later and it happened again, but now we are no longer under the warranty so they won't even come out to look at it. They offer the warranty which sounds great but they do cheap fixes until it runs out then you're screwed! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY! read more

If you ever need repairs the person you have to talk to is the most rude individual I have ever had the displeasure of speaking with. I purchased a gas stove from them April 2014. I called in less than a month to complain about one of the igniters going out on the stove top. They sent someone out that was fixed right away. In February of 2015 I called again because my oven would not go higher than 250. They sent someone out who changed the ignition for the oven. He did not stay long enough to see if the oven would heat up. With that fix the oven went up to 350. I called back again and they came back out today saying that they corrected the problem and the oven is going to be 10 degrees off. The lady who went by the name of Cathy said that was acceptable and I was just being picky. I will never purchase anything from this company again. Customer service sucks and I recommend if you value your money not to shop here either. They want you to purchase items there but once they get close to warranty going out they no longer care. Cathy needs to retire and have her daughter take over repairs if she doesn't know how to talk to customers. I have no I idea how they stay in business with that type of unprofessional demeanor. read more
