It serves the majority of Kempston well. There are usually about 2 or 3 people working at the same time which is good Swiftly onto the bad points - I have NEVER seen this post office without a queue, it's not rare if I have to stand in the queue for 15 minutes (even with 3 people serving) - whilst worrying about where I parked the car as there is only space for around 3 cars out the front. They seem to be quite disorganised - whilst serving someone they are always wondering off and not coming back for a fare while. They sell some decent items, but i'm afraid most of it just falls into the 'tat' category - the types of things you'd expect to find in poundland but for 5 times the price.

It also has a shop which sells basics like bread, milk, kiddies sweets, alcohol and birthday cards. The choice is pretty limited so its normally the co-op i use and this just for the post office.

Staff here are very friendly and willing to help. There was a campaign recently to save this post office which was threatened with closure and it got a lot of coverage in the local press and on radio. At the entrance you will get a ticket-so you know how many people are waiting in the queue and there are comfortable seats in the waiting room. Whittlesey post office is situated inside costcutters in whittlesey town centre…read more The post office is quite a large one as it is the only one in whittlesey and it does everything you need from a post office ie: stamps, posting mail, paying bills, insurance, taking money out of the bank etc etc. I use the post office regularly as I hope it is going to stay open unlike some of the post offices in peterborough, the staff are lovely there, you are always greeted with a smile. I like the fact it is inside the costcutters store as you can kill two birds with one stone so to speek, the only trouble is that as it is such a busy post office you have to be prepared to wait at times in the queue especially at certain times of the year. I used to work in a post office and I think they do a great job,as far as post offices go this is one of the better ones and hopefully I will get to use it for a good few years yet, They provide a good service.

Sometimes because of the location you can find the queues a bit long, however there are normally several tellers working so wait not too excessive; unless right before christmas time.
